  • You live in an organised mess just like us , cool by the way excellent job you did just clean the mixer a bit( literally clean I did it dust makes a lot of unneccesary noise )my old mackie mixer was giving me that sound I removed the knobs washed them dry them the rest was alchohol spray from maplin shop all over the mixer it came out new and it was more then 13 years old. there was no more noise after you turn the knobs just the tip

  • Awesome :D Love it

  • Man, this is awesome! Just throw a flanger on those drums and it'll sound even better.

  • Wooow, thats soooooooo cool.

  • hey, did you load the bass sound into the ea1 or did you configured it with to basic ea1 sounds?

  • did u filmed that with some helmcam

  • whats that drum machine?

  • @beemanjo Logic's Ultrabeat plugin.

  • Awesome

  • What audio interface are you using? I just moved from Vista To Mac and my current Behringer BCA2000 Audio Interface doesn't support macs... I need 4in/4out channels or more for my Mackie 1604-VLZ mixer.

    PS Love the synths!

  • @DMCSAO M-Audio Fast Track Pro, 4 ins 4 outs, USB about £110...

  • @sheps145 Thanks ;)

  • I want to sample this song for my new album, any chance you can help? i have logic 8 but sampling is a bit frustrating! tight stuff!

  • and whats used for the bass track in this one?

  • whats the use of an extern mixer btw?.. doesnt your daw had a mixer??

(just a question btw, production noob)

    Same with an extern sampler...

  • Wow. You did that so well I didn't even notice it wasn't an original song lol! 5 stars, excellent!

  • alot of this was from daft punks coachella performace in 2006

  • I love my EA-1

  • that's so good! i made a sampler too! but i guess i'm to stupid to remix xD

  • I love Mac!!

  • Mac.. FTW! <3

  • wow this is so good.

  • Could I use the Fact Track Pro to use my Behringer Mixer as the mixer in FL Studios?

  • Slow it down abit buddy

    but all around PERFECT! =]

  • im so jealous of you samples

  • awesome, im jealous

  • where did you get these samples from? i must have them! also, probably a noob question...but how do i map them to my midi controller? i really wanna rock out to my own daft punk remix like this.

    amazing.

  • Nice job!

  • Im feeling this 100% i have never seen it been done that way b4!!

  • beautiful

  • you've got really good timing and organizational skillzzzzz

  • Pretty Dope

  • how do you sync the clock from logic to the EA-1. I Have EA-1 ER-1 ES-1 trying to ge them all to start when I use logic.

  • how did you manage to get the microkorg to play the samples via midi? x =]

  • Sorry its late (2 months) but any midi controller of course can control VST instruments, ie; inserts in logic. You can use the built in sampler in logic (and strip silence / find transients etc) to grab out audio regions, or make them yourself in the sampler editor. Then its a short step to map the samples to midi and make them a kit in ultrabeat, or your own synth instrument, fully accessible via your midi controller (or caps lock keyboard).

  • Amazing cover ..

  • Are those XENYX mixers any good? i Have a UB series mixer much like yours, and i get a lot of white noise when i boost the gain or volume higher than 0dB...

If that´s no problem withe XENYX series, then i´m getting one...

But what´s your take on them?

  • I find it a bit noisy at times. It's fairly easy to distort stuff with it as well.

I got it because it was a decent price and had twelve channels. It's done me proud so far, you just have to take care with your levelling.

    xx

  • Thanks. :-)

And what about sound quality on low levels?

Is it warmer than the UB series?

You know, because of the "Neo Classic British EQ"

  • @sheps145 Is that because of the mixer or the monitors? It would seem to me that the distortion is happening further down the chain.

  • niceee .. i hope to hear some original music from you

  • bro this is awesome

  • Damn, bro. This is way cool.

    Nice work. That was mind-blowing.

  • Yeah! :)

  • I LISTEN TO UR REMIX LAST YEAR CONCERT

  • hey nice stuff man!

where did you get the vocal samples?

  • congrats dude that rocked hard =D like the "minimalistic" setup^^

  • nice cover, But the original got lot more changes in the bassline, Around the world

  • Very nice!

What would you recommend to interface MIDI and 16 track AUDIO with Logic 8 using a G5, 2.0 GH, dual processor using Leopard. It seems this is an area that few know little about. I have made quite a few post about this subject and still no responses to date. I am making great strides doing my own research, but still looking for input from Logic 8 users who are serious about their music in getting the most out of Logic 8.

Thanks in advance for your input.

  • DAMN! That was easily one of the coolest things I have ever seen!

    Props, man.

How do you like your microKorg? I've been fascinated by them for a long time and I hear they're a good first synth. I have an MPK49, but I would like to pick up a synth as well.

  • another synth you shouldn't overlook is the alesis micron. it's about the same price as the microkorg but IMHO I'd say it's a good bit deeper and i like the vocoder more too.

  • i have had both... i personally think the microkorg is better as a synth, while the micron is better as a keyboard with synth samples on it... i find the korg better in order to do your own patches (isnt synths all about that?) but the micron has some nice memory patches although i found it was a pain in the ass to do my own sounds, or experiment while live... my personal favorite in that league is the korg r3...

    excuse my english...

  • amazing!

  • Excellent recreation. I was at the last show of that tour in Vegas. Exxxcelent stuff.

  • that is sick!

  • impressive.

hbfs? sorry i'm such a noob.

how did you make the keyboard play the vocals? =s

  • HBFS: Harder Better Faster Stronger :]

The keyboard is MIDI linked to a sampler in Logic 8.

    Hope that answers your question

    xx

  • woooooooooooooooooooooow!!!! VERY VERY VERY well done!!! Perfectly re-did the live version! This is BRILLIANT! Is there any relationship to the midis and synths you were using to Daft Punks?

  • Well, yes and no. They have Minimoog Voyagers doing a lot of the synth sounds you hear on the live album.

They do it in a similar sort of way though, the Voyagers are sequenced via MIDI from Ableton Live.

They have a bit more money than me though.

    x

  • This is sick dude!

    You're amazing!

  • proper

  • yo do you know how many tracks the m-audio fast Track pro can separate onto your mixer?

  • that is FULL of win :D

  • Please

    Please

    Please

    Please

  • tio!! do you have the around the world vocal sample??

I've been looking for it for years, in p2p, web, daft live sessions...

    Can you send me it?

  • great

  • haha love it man! shame it's only a Youtube video, would love to hear it clearer!

did you teach yourself all your kit or are you a music student?

  • Music Tech student in Sixth Form college, but we don't learn how to do that shit yet.

    xx

  • Good job, man!

  • i like it man but playing a real bass would help

  • absolute genious

  • LOVE IT is the micro korg and the emx just a simple midi in and out and you sampled the "around the world" on the emx then sending it to the micro korg can you youse your mixer as a control surface in anyway?

  • It's all run from Logic, got a MIDI out from my laptop running a time code.

The EM-1 picks up on the time code and runs its sequence in time with Logic.

The microKorg just triggers samples in Logic...

The mixer is just to bring channels in and out whenever.

  • Sorry this seems like a total newb ? but

How can he control the exs24 sampler in logic independently on the mixer??

  • thats sweet

  • How did you connect your XENYX mixer to logic 8?

  • I have an M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB interface. Google them, they're great for the price.

    x

  • Can you make a Vid on how your set up is Routed? It would really help me.

  • Added some annotations for you... hope that's good enough. I'd hate to make a video, sorry. I hate the sound of my own voice.

    xx

  • Thats tight. Add to my fav.

  • You bet your sweet ass this is the first thing I'm doing when I get my EMX.

I already have my 3.55 Ghz PC :3

I just need to get my hands on some HARDWARE

  • Greatt!!

if you make an own song you can become famous ^^

  • AWSOME 5/5!

  • that was really cool. it answered a lot of questions and i had a lot of fun watching that.

  • nailed it! now blow my mind with something original. i know you can do it!

  • nice work.

  • Nice work, can the ea-1 do drums as well?

  • The EA-1 doesn't do drums, it's only doing the main synth line and the bass

    x

  • with the Ea-1 you make...the melodyc..line?

    great work =)
