Yes there are protest areas. Strangely not one protest has taken place in them and people who apply to protest mysteriously vanish. In such a repressive atmosphere, I expect people have already stopped bothering to apply.

Public property is always a proper place, without a restriction on time, that's what free expression is. A wedding is on private property, that's why we can't protest there freely.

Please remember that I do not support this protest, in particular. I think the issue of free expression is more important than what they were protesting about. The small protest is not important, but the freedom to speak is important. This freedom is how you and I can teach and learn from each other.
My conclusion is let the protesters speak, if you disagree with their message, speak against them or ignore them. I have been to places in the world with this freedom and places without it. I think most would find this freedom is a preferable law. It's not easy to uphold, because we can become wrapped up in the small issues. That's why it's part of the Constitution, the highest law, in countries where it exists.

Not really. Minerals have been looted from Tibet for years even by the British. Recently China and Britain made a deal to do even more serious mining in Tibet in a joint project. The reason why China is in Tibet is for resources, end of story. Gold, sliver, borax, copper, uranium, lumber, water, even oil and gas.

The reality is obvious when you're in Tibet. All you have to do is talk to a wide variety of Tibetans and to see what's happening in Tibet. Renaming of streets in Chinese, massive influx of Han-Chinese, building of monuments to promote lies about Tibet's history, not to mention the exploitation and unchecked rape of Tibet's natural resources. I just don't understand these people, they act like as if only Tibetans are suppressed in China. Falun Gong members have it 1000x worse than any Tibetan just because they had a silent protest while the Tibetan protests (violent) earlier this year wasn't met with as harsh punishment. Please, any Tibet activists out there can you explain to me why you act as if Tibet is the only suppressed area on Earth? This is probably the main reason why some Chinese resent you guys.

Please remember that I do not support this protest, in particular. I think the issue of free expression is more important than what they were protesting about. The small protest is not important, but the freedom to speak is important. This freedom is how you and I can teach and learn from each other.

My conclusion is let the protesters speak, if you disagree with their message, speak against them or ignore them. I have been to places in the world with this freedom and places without it. I think most would find this freedom is a preferable law. It's not easy to uphold, because we can become wrapped up in the small issues. That's why it's part of the Constitution, the highest law, in countries where it exists.
