I used to love that cartoon. Back when I was little, I honestly hadn't realised how many famous actors/actresses they had had playing the characters. Rik Mayall, Hugh Laurie, Derek Jacobi, Su Pollard, Ian Holm.
If they had topped it off with Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson it would have been perfect. Perfectly English author, perfectly British programme.
This brings back childhood memories. This song was used at this old children program when I was a kid.. Sadly I can't recall the name of the 'show', but the song is so beautiful. The intro was about a woman carrying some books or a basket or something.. She was walking on a path up to her house but it was a little bit far.. And when she walked you could see the wild life around her. Rabbits, frogs and the such.. And when she got home she would tell a story. A new story everytime.. About animals.

I watched World of Peter Rabbit and Friends on TV in America when I was very young. I managed to get my parents to record it on VCR, and just a few months ago, I remembered the song from the film rather vividly. Thanks to the internet, I was able to find out what I was remembering.
This is the most beautiful song. I remember curling up on the bean bag and watching Peter Rabbit, and loving the baby fox, and the hedgehog and the geese and rabbits. It is so amazing :'D

I also discovered this via Beatrix Potter which led me to discover Miriam Stockley and then buy her CD which I now go to sleep to nearly every night. I'm lucky I see the English countryside all the time, but it takes me back to a time before cars, computers, political correctness and health and safetly gone mad! I remember, as a young kid, sitting in our uptown apartment's bedroom and watching the Peter Rabbit TV show. There was such innocence and magic to this song, both of which are now long gone in my life. A year ago, my parents came over and brought their VCR copy of one of the episodes (the one with Mr. McGregor's garden), and I couldn't watch it past the first five minutes after getting tearfully choked up. To me, this song is a requiem of the past, simple and serene. It's really beautiful.
@flyforce16 My son who is now 18 used to watch those videos when we visited his grandmother's house when he was little. He loved the stories and music as a child, and I would sit and watch them with him (even the music stirred something in me back then). He posted a video from the episode you mentioned on his Facebook page yesterday and commented about watching them and as a child. I got teary-eyed as I thought he had forgotten those simpler days.

One of my best friends has a tape with this song on it, I believe it was a collection of songs from various movies. The tape got lost and for 12 years I remembered this song but didn't have a copy of it or know it's source. We were visiting family and the kids were watching a movie upstairs...all I needed to hear was the first line and I was like "Holy crap! I know what song that is!!!" I remember, as a young kid, sitting in our uptown apartment's bedroom and watching the Peter Rabbit TV show. There was such innocence and magic to this song, both of which are now long gone in my life. A year ago, my parents came over and brought their VCR copy of one of the episodes (the one with Mr. McGregor's garden), and I couldn't watch it past the first five minutes after getting tearfully choked up. To me, this song is a requiem of the past, simple and serene. It's really beautiful.

@flyforce16 My son who is now 18 used to watch those videos when we visited his grandmother's house when he was little. He loved the stories and music as a child, and I would sit and watch them with him (even the music stirred something in me back then). He posted a video from the episode you mentioned on his Facebook page yesterday and commented about watching them and as a child. I got teary-eyed as I thought he had forgotten those simpler days.

I remember when my kids used to watch Peter Rabbit. for several weeks I kept hearing this absolutely beautiful music, until one day I made a point of watching it with them until I could see details of the song in the closing credits; I then prompty got a copy of the song.

I am literally in tears as im writting this. It's been almost 14 years since i've heard this song. Brings me beautiful memories of Peter Rabbit, me as a child, and other Beatrix tales. @InSaneTk, you've made my whole week....Beautiful memories came rushing by as the song played... One of my best friends has a tape with this song on it, I believe it was a collection of songs from various movies. The tape got lost and for 12 years I remembered this song but didn't have a copy of it or know it's source. We were visiting family and the kids were watching a movie upstairs...all I needed to hear was the first line and I was like "Holy crap! I know what song that is!!!" Soooo glad to find it after all these years, one of my alltime favs. (sent the link to my friend of course!)

It's been nigh on a decade and a half since my parents first took me to the Lakes for a holiday. How days were simpler compared to my adult life, what I wouldn't give to be able to endlessly walk the fells now. And with all the memories this song brings back this must be at the forefront of any "Lakeland Playlist"
