  • my friend is on so many medications right now. every time i see her the psychiatrists have told her she has some new mental disorder and they put her on some new drug. at this point she is just numb. she doesnt react to anything at all. she claims she is two years sober but i know that really she is not. she is on drugs! she just doesnt see it that way. if she would just go raw, i know her life would be better

  • i love the way you like to help people man. I practice eating and drinking alkaline foods and drinks. the wheatgrass is the most potent. but it makes a major change that you can feel and see. and yes man its true the food we eat does change our life i know that now!

  • I like the keep it simple. Just go in the grocery store and grab anything green.

    I got some baby bok choy the other day with some broccoli, cucumbers and celery. Tossed it in a juicer and felt the benefits within a day.

    P.S. Can just juice the broccoli stems and eat the crown...it has more vitamin C then oranges - which is amazing for removing free radicals.

  • Dan, I wanted to update you on our story.

    We discovered raw in April. added raw, sub-ed SAD to become 90% vegan by Dec. Hubby wanted to do 12 day vegan program (Dr. McDougall).

    Results: cholesterol from 205 to 150. more joint flex, less sinus pain (quit meds), better urine flow, more stamina, (more cheerful), more libido. We are now vegan at home. He lost 12# but I've lost 0. But hubs is already skinny! Blood pressure hasn't changed. Maybe that's next! Cheers.

    IMPORTANT: please be careful when you speaking to people that are on depression and anxiety medications. As a person that has been though many of the poisons (ssris and benzo) years ago. I have spent a lot of time researching and, though experiences, know for a fact that people need to TAPER, slowly come off of what ever there on. People can have serious reactions, ie seizures, brain zaps and other horrible problems.

I have been training hard with weights and I have increase my strength and can sqaut over 500 pounds now. I was a vegetarian for 4 years before I became raw and use to think the best protien was red meat, chicken and fish. Now it's GREEN shakes and whole foods all the way.......Much Love and Respect

  • Gabriel Cousens' book "Depression Free for Life" has fantastic advice for coming off of antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications, and instead using amino acid supplements, herbs, and foods to heal such issues.  After 9 years on antidepressants and multiple failed attempts to quit them, I finally managed to quit them completely several months ago, using this advice, and I feel better than ever!

  • Dan, this conversation is ironic, because I just got back from the store to get my meds. I think sometimes meds like Prozac and others are sort of like a cover up. They have helped me take the edge off, but underneath it all there is still depression. I'm 31, and here I am since 13 with debilitating depression.

  • excellent advice Dan. The fruit and green juices are the answer to health problems along with some form of exercise. The body has attackes or illness to let you know it is missing something or it has too much of a toxic substance. With anxiety attackes you could be lacking a specific nutrient and the body needs it. Nutrients found in nature (fruit /veggies).Clean the body out so it can absorb the nutrients and eat good clean food and over time you will notice a difference.

  • For anyone experiencing labido problems consider a prostate check. Herbs like palmetto are beneficial as well as drinking plenty of water. If your urine is dark you probably are not getting enough water. The prostate will not function well when your body is dehydrated. I also believe alkalizing the body through a highly alkaline diet is quite beneficial. Juicing a lot of tomatoes seems to increase my sex drive. The lycopene is beneficial to the labido. Watermelon in the summer!

  • I for one can say for me PERSONALY that the perscriptions I was on did hurt me. Not ALL of them but some really did hurt me and I didnt know until I ran out and noticed I feel better. I diffently think anyone considering stop taking thier meds should talk to thier dr about the right way to get off the med because some can kill you if you just stop taking them all of a sudden. but natural foods and herbs have been much better for me.

  • One last thing..many times before I do this workout or even during it I may not even feel like doing it..but as I do these movements/exercises & after about thirty minutes into this workout then it becomes like a dance & I'm just each moment thinking/improvising of a new thing to do like I may decide to do a crabwalk for thirty yards, or sprint 5 yards than jog 5 yards then sprint 5 so on..it is fun and exhilarating, and stimulates creativity as well.

  • When I'm on the field barefoot running,I may run lengths of the field with eyes closed to get in tune with my proprioception,like feel my body running (make sure there's nothing in the way first) do minutes of backward walking/jogging,skipping..or spin the whole length of the football field (like when you're a kid & get yourself dizzy). Rolling is fun & good exercise,roll the whole length of the field,these are some things I do when doing this type of workout.I'm sure one can come up with more.

  • One more comment here,this is something I do..a creative exercise.I find an empty grassy field..at a park or a football field, I go barefoot running but while I'm running I keep my eyes focused on the stars, maybe have a walkman/ipod, & speed up slow down, go in circles..I try to keep my eyes on the stars, which keeps my visual cortex awake, exercises my eyes & also keep my posture noble. Ill run 30 steps toward one star then direct myself toward the next star for 30 strides & so on.

  • Because those drugs not only have a truck load of horrible side effects like obesity(not just slight weight gain but morbid obesity),permanent neural & endocrine system.there is much more,I'll stop here...I suffer (and have since childhood) with horrific, debilitating,painful almost tangible depression /self esteem issues, & thats putting it simply,these holistic approaches help much better,raw foods,exercise,yoga,healthy self expression,tolerance,acceptanc­e,inclusion in society stuff like this.

  • Maybe I'll do it longer. like I'll put Beethovens 9th on, (4th movement is like 25 minutes long) & jump up & down on the rebounder for the whole thing.pretty soon I'm laughing,by end I've gotten 25 minutes of aerobic exercise in my metabolism is up. Thats one thing that helps me.I agree with you liferegenerator, the drugs prozac,antipsychotics etc. are horrible & I quit those years ago for more natural/holistic approaches, I'm always dealing with it but at least I'm not a toxic zombie!

  • What helps me is jumping on the rebounder/trampoline...I didn't even know I had one of these till I recently moved & I found out there was one that my mom had bought a few years back but never used, I saw how you recommended it, and being a person (myself) who has been experimenting with different exercises to help my serious and debilitating depression/anxiety etc etc,,I found that jumping on the rebounder helps, I'll put rock Lobster on by B-52s jump for 6:00 minutes and I'll feel better.

  • @ vaw1979 How many years of unhealthy habits occurred before the psoriasis first appeared? You don't have to answer as I'm sure you know where I'm going with this--just be patient! As the saying goes, time heals all things. Well, more like fruits, vegetables, exercise, rest, fresh air & time! :D Answer me this though, are you having at least one green juice a day? If you want it gone closer to now than later, than a green juice a day is something I would do myself if I wanted to get rid of it.

  • I have heard of links between anxiety and unhealthy liver conditions. Congested Liver it sounds like. That would also explain your low energy and loss of libido

    Byron Katie has an excellent psychological approach to dealing with anxiety too that I can't recommend enough through personal experience

  • this vid totally applies to me too, the anxiety issues, and the doctors giving me pills for it. i am trying to go raw as well, not completely there, but at least i am staying away from the pills they gave me. four days ! :)

  • I take 5-HTP and St Johns Wort. At some point I will take neither, but not today, or tomorrow....I know that for sure.

  • I took Cymbalta for 2 years and loved every pill of it, the non-depression non-pain feeling serotonin and nor-epinephrine felt great....until I stopped taking them. I've done the whole Rehab thing for alcohol, AA for draining of emotional abcess, and, still stressed, still anxious, still depressed. The meds themselves don't help, a change in lifestyle is what matters. Running, hiking, eating healthy are things that help even when you feel nuts.

    I was listening to Herbalist Susun Weeds and she mentioned that parsley juice can shut down the kidneys. It also has oxalic acid so it can also take calcium out from the tissues. So be careful with parsley and don't overdo on it. Thanks.
