I think the movie is more about the victim turning into a predator, hence the title "descent". Its not about her being right or just in her actions... its about her change of mindset after she was raped. I don't think the movie promotes turning to rape as a solution, its simply showing us the damage it does to its victims by having Rosario resort to rape in order to get her own justice. I saw it in the theatres - people walked out, and some women were actually weeping in the audience. It was awful, I felt so helpless. But that is exactly what Gaspar Noe wanted us to experience. In a way, he wanted the viewer to feel raped as well. What was even worse, is that they kill the wrong man. If you watch the "beginning" you'll see the rapist looking down at the body of the wrong man killed. Very powerful film.

It comes down to expressing the idea of the act, as any actor would portray.
Rape is an act that should be villianfied, looked upon with disgust, and prosecured (and persecuted).
Rosario is possibly the best actress I have ever seen enact any concept.
