Thats ridiculous, the FD is not much lighter than my SE3P sport, which comes in at about 3052lbs. Mind you the FD is WAYYYYY more unreliable than the RX8, I've had my RX8 and beat the crap out of it for the last 50k and havent had so much as a hickup. Better gas mileage? no way. i havent driven any of the cars but my uncle over in florida also had both the fd and the rx8. his fd last much longer than the rx8 and it got about 18 to the gallon while the rx8 only got 16 to the gallon. his fd also ran mid 13's and the rx8 ran i think mid 14's. both cars had turbo's as well

not really a fair question, when it comes to tuning cars there is almost no boundaries if you put your mind to it, however the rx8 comes stock with the 13b renesis which is naturally aspirated and pushes about 250 bhp, while the rx7 (fd) doesn't come less then a single turboed 13b which pushes about the same. i think a more fair question would be which one would win with stock performance etc.
