  • My friend (k7) told me about this video. He didn't know I was making a Dickerson 8014. I was surprised to see your fine work. This is only my third build. Looking forward to more of your work. BTW Do you have any more pics of your hollowing attachment; intrigued by the use of a dial indicator for depth of cut. Are the plans in the Planing Form somewhere or Todd's Tips or ? Coming to Grayrock this year? Take care.

  • Great work! Looking forward to the next part.

  • ...nice series of videos...the beer adds a nice touch to a beautiful art...looking forward to the next...

  • Nice rod!

I've seen many bamboo fly rods but yet to see anyone made a spinning rod out of bamboo. Just wondering if it's possible.

  • @Stilweel There are several makers that make spinning rods out of bamboo but it isn't as popular as a bamboo fly rod. The process is the same in both cases. If you search around, you can find old production rods in fly, spinning, and bait casting all made from bamboo. Before Boron, there was graphite, then fiberglass, then bamboo, and before bamboo there was wood such as green heart. All make fine fishing poles.
