I was wondering, is there a version of Who Wants To Live Forever available with Freddy Mercury on lead vocals? The one I have has Brian May on lead and that's the one that was on the soundtrack but it is nothing compared to the one used in the original film. May's vocals just don't compare to Mercury's in my opinion.

In most version of WWTLF (including the album and single) May sings the first verse and Mercury the rest of the song. So far as I'm aware this is also the version used in the movie.

This is the the original song the way Roger made it the first time around.

The song on the album came after Freddie made changes to it and played it for the band,they liked it and the rest is history it whent to NR 1 in 35 contries.

for cricriii:freddie s voice is not made on computer after he s dead.are just songs witch wasn t released & on made in heaven there are a lot of songs witch wasnt fineshed with his voice (like mother love where songs brian, evean my life has been saved).if queen will make a new album with freddie it won t voice on computer.u could see lots of songs witch are still not release on utube like feel like....

When i was younger, my cousine told me the "Made in Heaven" album had been done recreating Freddie's voice by computer.

Although the well-known A Kind of Magic is beautiful and perfect, this version is much better. Especially because of the different rhythm as you said, but also due to the fact that fans have already memorized Queen official realases and this version gives a new wave of fascination to those who haven't heard that.

I like it. Very good editing. I noticed that you also used the original version of the song which, IMHO, is much better than the version on the soundtrack.

Yeah, I agree. The released single is too finger-snappy poppy, slightly bland with its very regular 4-4 rhythms. This version has a more ethereal, mystical feel to its sound textures, and that much more interesting rhythm pattern that feels like it's reaching out in search of something. Much more in keeping with the thematic essence of the movie.
