Well it really wasn't because of this, I lived very cheaply for many many years and saved as much as I could working two jobs and going through college. This helped my Lion King collection more than anything, but I've put all this money away for a house someday.
haha you betcha. Though I wasn't "furry" at the time of this show... I had just begun my Lion King obsession. I got this puzzle after I called the four Hs and just kept on going.
I tried out for Wheel of Fortune in Dallas...i solved two puzzles during the speed round, nailed the interview and solved 14 of the 15 puzzles we had to do on the sheet of paper in the 5 minute time period...and i didn't get selected to be on the show...i was really disappointed...i think it all comes down to the fact that they just hand pick people and it has nothing to do with how well you did or didn't do on the tests and audition
It's fun, but far from easy. Over one million people inquire about being on Wheel every year, and tens of thousands audition across the country, but only about 400 actually make it all the way to the show. Luckily I came prepared knowing what they were looking for in a contestant so that helped a lot :)
well i lernt from a young age to keep it in for at least 24 to 36 hours lol its avmazing u should of gone in your fursuits and well lol stood next to him as still as posible i treid for and hour and succeded lol
Wow. Isn't it great to be on a national game show? Since the past year, I've been watching game shows a lot. I've been thinking about how happy those people were when they got a call saying "You've been invited to play on *enter game show name here*!!!" Maybe one day I could go on a game show!
Aww thankies Lunaia! I guess we all have our dreams and goals in life, and this was one of mine ever since I was a kid. I hope I can inspire others to help make their dreams come true as well.
And I felt good that I was able to represent Asian-Americans on the show - they very rarely appear on Wheel and almost never win when they do - and although I wasn't part of the fandom when my show aired I gotta represent the furries too! =^_^=
Very heavy. I don't think I can make an accurate weight estimate myself but I heard on a documentary it weighs about "2 tons" or 4,000 lbs. They work with you during rehearsals on technique so players (especially the more slightly-built women) send the wheel around as far as possible - "Grab the farthest spoke within reach, pull towards you, and push away." I spun that clunky thing 19 times during my show and my hand/arm hurt the whole rest of the day. But $36,000+ eased the pain a bit!
Ahh, good question. I've been trying to come up with an answer for that myself.
{thinks introspectively for a while}
Check out my Youtube profile or send me a message if you want to learn more about me - must say my life has changed quite a bit since this memorable day in 2004.
I took the trip and had a great time exploring Great Britain via motorcoach with my sister and mom. Selling trips won on game shows is actually against the law... otherwise I think everyone would be doing that! But having never been to New York (our stopover) or Europe, I don't think I could have passed it up.
Thanks so much for sharing this great info! I attended a WheelMobile event yesterday, was the 2nd name called, and WON MY PUZZLE! Of course, that's not any guarantee of anything but I think I did pretty good :) So now I'm really excited and waiting for that lovely email or letter! THANKS FOR YOUR INFO & VIDEOS! Congratulations!
Dear Tim: Great going! It looks like the money was well-deserved. Good luck with school, and don't forget TKTS during your next visit to the Big Apple. :-)
Thanks! Yes, I did... actually because of this show! On the trip to Britain I win in round 2 our stopover was in New York, and I was able to arrange to fly in a few days early to sightsee with my sister who I took on the trip. We saw The Lion King and Phantom of the Opera - I had seen TLK musical before in Seattle but it's even better on Broadway - it just blew me away. Check out my Lion King documentary videos if you want to learn more about the show!
I took my sister and met my mom in London so we could take the tour together. We traveled through England, Scotland and Wales for five days and got to see the beautiful countryside,Grasmere's lake district was gorgeous, and visit cathedrals (York) and castles (Edinburgh). Weather was beautiful too the whole trip low 80s not too humid. Everything was included too so we didn't have to spend any extra money except for souvenirs and a light lunch on occasion. Fun and memorable vacation.
The trip was great, our stopover was in NYC so we were able to arrange to stay & sightsee a few days in the Big Apple before heading off to London. First day we took a tour of London - stopped at Westminster Abbey/Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and took a cruise down the Thames. Food was extremely expensive though in London, I wondered how the locals could afford it! We saw Joseph & the ATD (play) at the New London theatre after just seeing Phantom and Lion King in NY a couple days earlier
I would have gotten that second one pretty dang early. I knew it before we even saw any of the word "sheriff". Also, if that guy was going to keep spinning until he exhausted all the consonants, he missed the "M" in "Nottingham".
Well on that particular puzzle I was waiting until I landed on a big amount so I could call the three Fs, and after I hit $800 and got them I figured it was enough because there were no more multiple letters in that puzzle and I also knew that I would probably be going to england as well since it was a Prize Puzzle and that would be too much to risk.
Oh man! Yeah that was really a tense moment when they were calling those names from the accepted applications, mine was the second to last in the stack so I thought I was going to go home. You can try out again though next time the auditions come back, hope you make it the second time around.
