Lucca shoulda got electricity because... well SHE WORKS WITH ELECTRICITY ALL DAY LONG. Marle fits ice kinda. Ayla should have gotten SOME form of magic... seriously magic wasn't "invented" because wasn't that world created by the elements, so it wasnt invented but discovered.

@Ellidyr well, to clarify, Marle was originally suppose to be the fire mage, and lucca the ice mage. but they thought that fire based heal magic was wierd, so they changed it quickly without changing the box art.

I agree, Chrono Cross was a horrible horrible fucking game.

Chrono Trigger is one game without a sequel or prequel. I personally would hate for this to be remade by anyone.

The only people I'd feel comfortable remaking this and or making a true sequel would be Bioware because of their amazing work on Mass Effect / Dragon Age OR Microsoft due to their amazing work on Lost Odyssey which is one of the best games ever of the new age.

I don't see Chrono Cross as a sequel. Other than the fact that you end up becoming a time traveler as well. In fact, I believe there is a part in CROSS where they refer to you as the CHRONO TRIGGER, just because you are the one altering time.

I think a game that allows you to travel and alter time and consequences is always fun for me.

1. Is made by Square.

2. Has an innovative battle system.

3. Has a complex plot with TONS of characters, all with interesting backstories.

4. Still has superb graphics, music, and time travel.

So yes, it DOES deserve the name.

i thumbed you up because i agree with you. I think the problem was an inconsistency between yasunori mitsuda's vision for the game, in contrast with nobuo uematsu's. I think nobuo uematsu helped mitsuda with this and the other boss theme that plays in bigger battles, as well as magus' theme. just compare it to lavos' battle theme or world revolution, they are both mitsuda heavy.

i think this recent trend of people defending the box art is getting out of hand. compare the in game fire sword effects with those of arc impulse. arc impulse is definetely not fire, as opposed to fire sword's setting the sword ablaze. I personally believe as in such as that this box art was just a mistake by akira toriyama, and nothing more. I mean look at Breath of Fire II's box art, they obviously didn't care much for fidelity to the product back then, as long as it looked badass.
