  • suck my dick. I'm a chemical process engineer and drunk. You fucking substandard shit stains who post on this wall, trying to compose something relevant. None of you pussies know how to combine technical aptitude with elite physical abilities. I make 110,000 a year, and I'm very drunk right kno3w

  • he copied off someone else -_-..

  • let it never be said that England makes bad movies again! top movie

  • Mace was the only one who had his head on straight in the movie. He was the only sane man. If everyone didn't die in the movie, he would either be the guy who lived, or the guy busting his ass to save the real hero, which would arguably be Capa. Of all the characters, I respect Mace the most, Kaneda, the second.

  • The saddest moment in the movie :(

  • This is by far the most compelling death of them all. Mace was the only one in my book that actually had some sense. Every time I see this it's gut wrenching. I think it's Chris' best performance of his career.

  • @michaak100 congradulations.

  • Comment removed

  • @michaak100 Kudos to your work, though minus points for grammar mistakes. I'm sure we all appreciate your contribution to society and I know we all appreciate your Marine Corps service, but I personally fail to see your point in insulting people for simply commenting on a movie clip.

  • @jedifaramir he's prolly a narcissist troll.

  • @michaak100 Perhaps you can learn how to speak correctly before you climb up your own ass again. Twat.

  • If I were in his shoes, something to fear more than death is not knowing whether or not your companion will succeed.

  • SENTRY DOWN!

    oh god i feel horrible

  • Anyone remembers how Mace survived the 20 Meters Jump without the Space Suit ( but with improvisated protection [you Know what i mean] ) where He get the frozen arm and let it taped ???

Is it really possible to survive this jump in REAL LIFE at - 273* Celsius in the open space ?????

Please answer ME, if somebody knows !!!!

  • @Artjom117 Yes it is possible, for 10 to 15 seconds, NASA has proven it by putting one astronaut in a hot-air balloon and a second astronaut in a vacuum chamber. They where fine.

  • this scene really gets to me . It was too sad the way he died

  • i wish it showed him in the other tanks first, he did alot before dying in this short clip. one of the best death scenes ever. he was my fav. on this movie because he knew how important the mission was and their lives were nothing compared to it.

  • notice anything?

kaneda:strong captain going out in a blaze of glory

searle: peacful intellectual dying in his own peace by his will

trey: troubled and foolish kills himself

mace: always about the mission, somewhat cold hearted, freezes after doing what had to be done

harvey: dies alone and afraid, which is how he felt the entire time

corazon: loving and nuturing, stabbed in the heart while caring for nature

cassie/capa: both dreaming of the sun surface, and the died there

  • @Leightonization touched :!

  • @Leightonization Wow, this made me look at the film in a whole new way. That's really interesting. Also Pinbacker was obsessed with stopping the other mission, and he died while almost successfully stopping the Icarus II mission.

  • @Leightonization

Danny Boyle says that Trey was murdered by Pinbacker. Other than that, thanks for the amazing eye opener!

  • While I was watching this scene with my friends all I could is think about is him as the Human Torch. We were all yelling "come on man, FLAME ON!!!!!"

  • Human Torch freezes to death. The irony.

  • I Know Why Mace Doesnt Like Capa At All

  • I really liked Mace. He was the one who cared about getting this mission done the most. Even sacrificed his own life for it and would have killed others, too... If only they listened to him in the beginning XD but then that wouldn't really be a movie, would it?

  • Every time someone says Chris Evans is a poor choice to play Captain America... I tell them to watch "Sunshine"... this movie proves Evans has what it takes to play Steve Rogers... and this scene is the single best example why he's the best choice...

  • Poor old mace...

My favorite crew member next to capa and Searle.

    :' (

  • ONE person doesn't know how cold a spaceships computer mainframe coolant is...

  • i love the way that Mace was totally dedicated to the mission. personally, my second favourite movie character of all time - second to apollo creed in rockys 1,2+3 (he turned stupid in rocky 4).

  • I love Chris Evans!!!

  • This is the only character I sympathized with besides capa, he was only one with common sense.

  • I really hated it when he died, he was my favorite crew member.

  • How do we know he's an engineer? They never said specifically. I just assumed he was the computer dude.

  • I gained a whole new level respect for Chris Evans after watching this movie.

He is a phenomenal actor and he will be an A-lister without any question. Like many before him such as Brad Pitt, Dicaprio, he will have to convince that he's more than just a good looking kid.

Evans, you are good, REALLY good

  • The human torche's one weakness, coolant!

  • @iceguy0077 Heh yea, really. You'd think that he could handle the cold because he's a navy SEAL. Or, was one before the mission.

  • ironic how the torch goes out on ice

  • He should have flamed on.

  • I was really hoping to see Mace kick the shit out of Pinbacker, but somehow they avoided each other.

  • out of all the deaths in this movie, this one almost made me cry. especially the "do it cappa" part

  • I love the Mace character. Throughout the movie, I kept doubting him. Is he just a jerk? Is he a phony just looking out for #1? Then, he goes and has this scene. He sets the example heroically. He not only faces the danger but he does so enthusiastically, without hesistation.. Then, I felt guilty for doubting him. I realized he HAD to act "cold" because he saw the weaknesses in the others and knew someone had to be strong enough to make the horrrible decisions that had to be made.

  • Great acting from Evans in this film..probably will be his best performance for a very long time

  • Mace was not an asshole! He put the earth and the human race before everyone... he was smart and did what he was supposed to! You see he is not completely cold when he is upset over Trey's death. His death scene showed him for the hero he was. Also, I LOVE CHRIS EVANS!

  • Mace was my favourite character. I was crying so loud, when I saw his death. Poor guy.

    Chris Evans 4ever ^^

  • Poor Captain America. :(

  • i wish it showed more of this scene, with him talking to capa before hand. i also think it woulda been sweet if he just went and fucked up pinbacker lol.

  • why was his leg stuck like that?

  • @Primebot101 i think that the big machine thing that was lowering caught his leg while it was going into the water and kept on going down wich is why there was blood and it gets caught like that

  • Freezing to death at the surface of the sun.

    What a way to go.

  • Hahaha I never thought about it this way.

  • @djtrain0495 haha, so so true.

  • Sad scene. And the score is a amazing!

  • ace oi hes mine BLOODY SEXY leave him alone :D but ya hes a goods hero and he shouyld not die tht way i was cryin my eyes out wen i saw the film but HE IS MINE :D

  • I LOVE CHRIS EVANS! HE'S SO HOTT!

But poor baby, Mace shouldn't have had to die that way, I cried ALOT when he died :( during the movie..

*sigh, He was a HERO though! :) <3 XO

  • freezing inside..the most beautiful tune in the movie

  • I watched in the special features that the water Chris had to get into actually was just above freezing temperature, and that to get the cold breath, the temp in the room was freezing too. So as far as acting really cold is concerned, Chris didn't have to do much, his teeth were chattering for real. Props to him for that, I wouldn't want to do it.

  • Mace was my fav character in this movie. He wasn't there to be the nice guy or to make friends with the crew, he was just there to complete the mission at all costs even if it meant his certain death.

  • Mace is quite different from the other roles I've seen Chris in and I have to say, he still did it brilliantly.

I mean, I love Chris, but he acted so well I really didn't like Mace. Up until this point that is.

    True hero.

  • I really really agree with you. When I saw the movie, I didn't know Chris Evans. And I didn't like Mace. He was always cold and (I thought) selfish. as I saw this scene I had to crie, it was so ironic, that he risked his life for the others, because untill this point he always seemed so egoistic. since I watched the movie I love chris evans, because he is a great actor. don't missunderstand, he is very very hot, too, but he's acting so convincingly

  • Actually he was the least selfish character in the movie. He always put the mission ahead of any of his personal feelings. Cold, yes, but thats what it takes. And all the other characters were egotistical as well, especially the scientists.

  • chris was a faggot in fantastic four and a badass in this movie, so in my book he's neutral, we'll see for his next good role

  • @iceguy0077 late reply i know but take a look at push...hes fucking cool in that.

  • @MrDan8869 it looks interesting, but was it a good movie because i saw the tomato-meter rape that movie

  • @iceguy0077 tomato-meter? yeah its a kinda realistic x-men (dont worry it's way better than F4). One of my favourite movies along with sunshine. Good story, good characters and good action.

  • @MrDan8869 rottentomatoes(dot)com has a tomatoemeter, but i'll check it out and get back to you on it, don't hold your breath for a quick response though ;P

  • @burla22

Same here. I was apathetic towards Evans until I saw this film, I look forward to him being more tactfully utilized in future roles by competent directors. In all honesty, this movie was just okay, could have been absolutely brilliant, but the writing seemed rushed and cliche to me. Evans was one of the shining pieces of the film.

I always love when an actor can surprise me like he did in this film.

  • Upon the conduct of each individual lays the faith of us all.

Earth expects that every man wil do his duty.

He has done his duty to the better end.

  • what are you talking about?

  • he could be a coward and sit in a corner and do nothing. But no, he still tried to save the mainframe, dive and dive in the icecold cooling liquid.

  • is that a bad thing? I don't think so! he tries to save their lifes!

  • shit... I can't find the music of this scene... the most sad scene to me.

  • the only place I could find it was on itunes. It's called "freezing inside: mace" its my favorite track on the whole album...poor mace

  • I thought Mace was a total asshole up until this scene. It made me realize that he wasn't an asshole, he was just dedicated to the mission. Poor Mace ;___;

  • true hero of the film

  • it upset me this. more than i thought. very moving.

  • YYyyyyyyeeaaaaaahhh, I cried. lol

    I love Chris/Mace

  • i was surprised how he died and screw pinbacker f5 he really pisses me off hope he lives a living death

  • it woulda been sweet if mace went and just fucked up pinbacker than saved the ship and hooked pinback up to the bomb lol

  • It's all very sad and everything, but i noticed when i watched this the other day that he's wearing sandals!

To me it just takes away some of his hard edge coolness.

    But otherwise very good.

  • Fkin!! Pinbacker!! How does he dare to burn up the Icarus Mainframe leaving it whit out the coolant and also murdering everybody incluiding the engineer!! Too bad!! Actually I hate him!!

  • think about what 4 years in space by yourself would do to your sanity

hate is such an irrational word

  • This is quite a moving death scene; it's such a lonely death, and it's in vain too since he fails to get the CPU panels back in the coolant, leaving the entire mission's success in Capa's hands. "Do it Capa...just do...it".

  • Mace was the best

He was the only one that realised that their lives were worthless, that they were trying to save mankind.

He did die like a hero, great death scene, very sad.

  • @LunaticsWisdom The captain was good as well, and his death scene was soo epic

  • @LunaticsWisdom totally dedicated to the mission throughout the film. a true hero

  • Lol the way he said ' fuck you capa ' in the film when they were all sitting on the table talkign about trey was FUNNY.

  • This was a really, really sad ending :(

  • that was heroic! dang i love chris evans!

  • Man, this was a surprisingly sad scene. Shows you shouldn't judge a guy before the end of the film. ;)

  • Quite heroic! Loved this character

  • fealt really sorry 4 him,great film 2

  • *salutes*

what a sad way to go, he was nearly out and everything *sigh* what a waste of eye candy lol

  • He was an asshole but he died like a hero.

  • yeah!

    I agree

  • @carlosa16 it's like the most honorable way to go...if that makes since. I mean, his character was hurting somewhere..idk. He was a hero though! : )
