  • What's going on here? I heard "If You Gotta Go, Go Now" on "Sounds Of The Sixties" radio show 10 May 2011 & i thought, hmm not bad. Today a pal of mine found these tracks here & was blown away! And now i'm hooked on a great sound that stands out . How come they've been kept a secret for so long? Can't find any mention of them. Maybe i'm wrong but they aren't as prominent in the 60's annals as they should be. They're as good as any of their peers.

  • @Harmonicajello Definately a cut above most of their peers

  • @Harmonicajello Welcome to the club...the L'pool Five are one of the best secrets of Sixties Rock 'n Roll...it's to time to spread the word about them...just check the comments on their You Tube trax....posted by guys and gals all over the world. The cream always rises to the top but sometiems it takes a long time.

  • mega rare french EP.

  • @POPAVIDEO I have checked their discography and the first tune is on their first RCA album "Arrive". The other two tunes are on their second RCA album "Out of Sight" which appears on this video. Also pictured on this video is the cover of a German CBS 45rpm with " Tokio" and " Skinnie Minnie" which has yet to show up on You Tube. I do not see their rare French Ep here but one or more of these tunes may have been on that ..Anyway they were fabulous and glad to see that they are still appreciated.

  • Nice offerings here. This band was very good.

  • So glad to be back listening to these fine tunes. It's been quite a while since I was here but it's never a waste of time when I get to hear these guys with the volume turned up. Cannot get over how many others are now turning on to them and this site has been very influential in this regard..it's certainly about time.

  • Like the Mayfield lyrics, love the lead guitar, echo-like harmonies, great melodies.

  • @11xzxzxz FYI..I recently found the Impressions' original version of " Sister Love" on You Tube. I like it a lot but I still like the LP5s version a bit better. It's still a great tune.

  • @11xzxzxz FYI...I just found recently posted on You Tube the Liverpool Five's fabulous rendition of the Curtis Mayfield written tune " That's What Love Will Do".Great songwriter , great group too.Tell the World.

  • @Oddsman57 Yeah great.

  • Absolutely great music from a bunch of fellas that for far too long have snuck under the radar of many musicians like myself...now the secret about them is pouring out from sites like this .... sometimes it takes a decade or two..or three...or four.

  • @445Frogger So glad that you and many others are turning on to these guys who have been a fave of mine for decades...as you say, sometimes it takes years but cream will always rise to the top sooner or later. Rock op!!!

  • This trio of great melodies often with clever harmonies are such a change from the hard rockers posted on " Nuggets ( Part 1)". A really versatile combo this LP5. Only recently heard them by mistake but what a find.

  • I can't Believe I did feel the start of Sister Love as Curtis Mayfield though I was thinking Major Lance and that was close. Can someone upload the Curtis Mayfield version I would really appreciate it I can't even find the lyrics to this.

  • Again it's never too early to write again that that Sister Love was written by the great Curtis Mayfield. He wrote the most gorgeous melodies/lyrics for his band the Impressions. Between maybe 1961 and 1965 as his later stuff was not as good (to me) Curtis wrote great gorgeous songs like Gypsy Woman / Minstrel & Queen/ I'm the One who Loves you/ I'm So Proud. Listen to them now or soon.

  • myrecordcollent was great to put up these great songs. 3 in 1. I like these three songs a lot. I have ventured into their relatively more experimental sounds and they are fine but these are top of the pops.

  • OK back to let everyone know. SIster Love is about lesbian sex and so it was a little too early to bring that up in the 60s.

  • The Blues Magoos " We Aint Got Nothin Yet" are in the start and middle of She's got plenty of love. "Any Way your want" has some of 5 o'clock World by the Vogues besides the Animals etc. By the way I am not accusing them of copycat-cataclyisms. I like 'em and just thought of these interesting irrelevancies.

  • And lastly Sister Love sounds like Major Lance of Monkey Time. This will make sense to the one person who understands this reference. haha. Get into Major Lance ..

  • @11xzxzxz FYI..Your comments are very insightful, however just a little of the mark sometimes,."Sister Love" was written and first recorded by Curtis Mayfield with the Impressions. I do not think it is about lebianism. He also wrote tunes for Major Lance. The Liverpool Five in the US obviously discovered Curtis long before any of the other English bands. In fact they ended up recording two more of his tunes" Hey Little Girl" and "That's What Love Will Do".Time to chck more LPstuff on You Tube.

  • @Oddsman57 Hey thanks for telling me Curtis Mayfield wrote this .. he is one of favorite writers and singers of all time. And I know Major Lance very well and have his um um um Greatest Hits, many written by Curtis. By the way, The Impression's Greatest Hit Pre-1967 is the best greatest hit package I know. Of course I didn't think it was about was about lesbian love but now I understand Sister Love was about African American women having lesbian sex .. kidding! Be well!

  • Sister Love is an fine song with an great simple guitar (maybe not the riff of Dave Davies "You Really got Me Going" or the Searches 12-string rickenbacker guitar sound of "Needles and Pins" but a worthy unique production. And great fucking harmonies. All of the songs just have great harmonies ..maybe "Anyway that you want Me" is a little too much harmony-driven but sounds like Eric Burden's Animals with a Phil Specter sound and reminiscent of The Soul Survivors "Expressway to Your Heart".

  • Good. Where was Brian Epstein when they needed him?

  • @11xzxzxz I heard that they turned Epstein down but he then blackballed them and that was the main reason they left England never to return. If he had controlled them they would have been bigger, especially in the UK.Nevertheless they still put out some awesome material as demonstrated here and elsewhere on You Tube

  • @445Frogger Hey thanks a lot for the info. LP5 forever. Is that confirmed on the web or where did you hear it? Not that the web is any place to verify facts, sorry, sorry. But this would make a good movie with much better music and it would be much better than Tom Hanks "That Thing you Do". Maybe Pete Best could play the Tom Hanks part (in that fucking mediocre movie). So many fine overlooked bands...

  • Although it sounds similar in style, "Sister Love" is far better than most of the stuff Cliff recorded with the Shadows. The Liverpool Five are WAY edgier.

  • Glad to hear that the guys got back together last month for a special reunion in California for Steve Laine's birthday. By the comments it seems that they sounded as good as ever......I too would have loved to see and hear them .Also I am pleased to see some more of their tunes turning up on YouTube but always especially thankful for this channel being the first to introduce them to many more generations of music fans. Thanks MRC.

  • I first found these guys on Nuggets ( Part 1) and loved their edgy sounds, now here I listen to some great harmonies and soul and am more convinced that they have long been overlooked as a great band.

  • From what I have been able to find out It seems that the four originals as noted by Kando got together at Steve's 70th birthday party for a few hundred of his closest friends. A local drummer named Dennis X had practiced with them and I hear that they played a 90 minute set from their old repertoire. Both " Sister Love" and " Anyway that you want me "were included and apparntly sounded as great as ever. I would have loved to be there but maybe some videos or recordings may turn up later.

  • @Oddsman57 I am the american Drummer and my name is not Dennis X, it is Dennis Moffett. I live in Sacramento an know the other 4 guys in the band. They all live in northern California now, I will never forget the night I got to play drums for the liverpool 5. I have a nice photo or 2 of us, however I do not know if any motion photos were taken that night.

  • @dennmof I was lucky enough to be invited to Steve's birthday bash and to witness the first on stage reunion of the LP5 in 42 years...and with four of the original members too. It was an absolute mind blower. The vocals were greater than ever. Ken's guitar, Dave's bass and Ron's keybords never sounded better. You on the drums did a wonderful job on their complicated arrangements and difficult rhythms and deserve special credit. Cograt Dennis they could not have done it without you.

  • Steve, Ken, Ron, and Dave.

The first time they played together on stage, since 1968. It was GREAT. I have not seen the guys since our reunion in Reno about five years ago. They surprised a lot of people I think. The clock was turned back and the sound was fantastic as it was the 60's. Lot of memories of being with them for the greatest 5 years of my life. Theirs no people like show people. Thanks for a great night guys. John Kan-do Kandarian

    Road Manager

    The Liverpool Five

  • Newsflash!!!!!!!, Hey I have just found out that this last weekend an on stage reunion of 4 members took place at an excusive private estate in California with a local drumming star. If anyone knows if this really is true and has more details pleeeeese let us know.

  • Yo Roxy...thanks for that info I had heard something about a possible reunion for Steve's birthday in Sacramento and I will do some digging.

  • Part 2 of LP5 Nuggets is just as incredible as Part 1 especially if you enjoy 60's rock heavy on the melodic side like The Searchers, Hollies, Beau Brummels or some of the early Beatles. Hopefully with todays media the LP5 finally get some of the recognition they deserve.

  • Amen to you mrbag.

  • I'm 48 years old and I love British music from this era, but I've never heard of these guys. Where have they been? I just finished listening to the second song "She's the kind of girl..." for about the fifth time in a row and I'm not even close to getting sick of it. Thank you for posting it myrecordcollection.

  • Is there a way I can get this CD anywhere?! The group itself is not on iTunes and this cd is not on amazon.

  • I got my " Best of the Liverpool Five" from Sundazed Records. If you Google that title you will find other vendors and can compare prices.FYI...Rockinbeat Records in Germany has a cd out.that includes both of their RCA albums " Arrive" and ' OUt of Sight". Enjoy.

  • thnks very much! i will go there. so criminal the band is not even on effing itunes or amazon. but i will look into it.

  • FYI 1940semo, the "Best of the LP5" cd from Sundazed has 18 fabulous remastered tunes but does not include a couple from this channel. The Rockinbeat cd has 26 tunes and includes all three songs presented here but the sound quality is fine but not as good as the one from Sundazed..I have added both to my collection and put most of their tunes onto my IPod.

  • Ok. On amazon I saw something (a compilation cd?) but Sister Love was not there. My favorite song. Is that song on the one from Sundazed?

  • No 1940Semo that song is not on the Sundazed cd...only on the one from Rockinbeat and one of the LP5's RCA albums sometimes found on E Bay. I know it's a pity because it really is a great tune.....only found elsewhere as the original by the Impressions.

  • that sucks. thanks for telling me before I blew a bundle.

  • Hi Semo...I have their cds and they are well worth the cost , especially the one from Sundazed with the remastered tracks however if you want to save your money you can always come back onto this MRC channel for a dose of kool "Sister Love"

  • Lol true. youtube is always a great second resort.

  • @1940semochild

Sister Love is on LP5 Arrive - the debut LP

  • Dear Uhjigali.....these guys were very good looking, had great harmonies and lead vocals, and kool musicianship and I would guess that they were not promoted as well as many inferior groups were. You need to read the many comments about them here and on "Nuggets #1" on this same kool channel. I wonder what is real obvious to you why they were not bigger then but getting a lot of attention now?

  • My mom's favorite band...glad to find them here getting some well deserved coverage.I am telling all my college friends to tune into them.

  • FYI...I just found out more about these guys by checking them out on Wikepedia. There's also some stuff there on Steve Laine the lead singer.Never have found another version of Sister Love on YU Tube....but I just love theirs.Anyone else think that on that tune Steve sounds a lot like that other famous singer in England, Cliff Richard?

  • Actually, yeah, he does kind of sound like Cliff.

  • I believe that Steve and Clff started singing with bands around London in the late Fifties and early Sixties. Both were definately influenced by American singers. Then I read somewhere that Steve once asked Hank Marvin to leave the Shads and join the LP5 when they were leaving England and Cliff's popularity was waning because of the Beatles etc. Before Hank replied to his offer Steve heard a seventeen year old guitar phenom Kenny Cox at a concert and offered him a job which he took.

  • Great to see the latest amount of interest being given to this often overlooked group, especially in the UK and OZ as well as the US.

  • A compilation has been released recently and available online so I might have to grab that :) I totally agree with ENS64 about the harmonies and lead vocals. Beautiful!

  • Hi Joelba1 and others. I just Googled " Best of the Liverpool Five" and found a number of vendors selling that cd, including Sundazed Records, a subsidiary of Sony who apparently own the band's rights gotten from RCA. Most of those venders offer 30 second samples of all 18 tracks.I only discovered these guys a few weeks ago thanks to this channel and am totally hooked on them.Talk about versatility and talent.

  • some really good stuff. i can't find anything about "sister love" on the net. is it a Curtis Mayfield cover as someone indicated? it's fantastic

"any way that you want me" is like a slow "twist and shout"

  • That tune " Sister Love " grows on me. I was fortunate recently to pick up the LP5s two RCA Albums on E-Bay . Their first album "Arrive" lists Curtis Mayfield of the Impressions as songwriter. That album also includes two other Mayfield tunes, " Hey Little Girl" and "That's What Love Will Do". They too are somethin else...with great harmonies and lead vocals.I have heard that there is a German cd that includes those tunes but have yet to find it.

    FYI , I prefer " Any way " to " Twistnshout".

  • I too am a big fan of the late , great Curtis M. and have the ABC Paramount album " The Never Ending Impressions" that has " Sister Love" as the first song on Side 1. The Liverpool Five released it on an RCA single with " She's Mine", sometimes turning up on E-Bay. As far as I know no other group ever recorded this fabulous tune. Someone once told me that they thought that Brian Hyland sang it on stage but may never have recorded it.

  • Sounding like a Beatles' movie song on 'She's Got Plenty Of Love, 'Any Way..' is much more of a west-coast sound. Thanks for this interesting post.

  • Not quite a good as the Beatles but nevertheless still excellent in my opinion,

  • Load of tripe - Sister Love is as good as anything done by the fab four

  • Even tho I luv the Beatles I have to agree with you with respect to that tune...it's the cat's meow.

  • I had never heard of this group. I thought I knew every group from the British Invasion. Can't wait to buy their CD. Love their songs.

  • Welcome to the club...I guess I found this band before you....I did get their cd and some of the tracks on it are even better than the ones on this channel.

  • i still have my 45 of this song. Love it!

  • Upto now I had only heard Any way that you want me by the Troggs. I have just listened here to the song a few times by the Liverpool 5 and this version blows off the Troggs. It is far and away the best. I might even check out the cd mentioned by others here. They definately warrant greater attention...a real find!!!!

  • Just found this group on Nuggets Part 1 and moved over to this one. I am once more blown away , this time by their tuneful harmonizing and soulful approach, especially to "Anyway that you want me"...much better than the Troggs and Evie Sands versions. Gotta get more of their stuff if I can find it.Thanks for introducing them to people like me.

  • Glad you've enjoyed these tunes. Maybe you should check out their "Best Of" CD on Sundazed Records.

  • Thanks a million. I got their cd and it is fabulous. But how could "Anyway that you want me" and " Sister Love " not be included.?..maybe saving for later but at least I can hear them here. I have just checked them out on Wikipedia and found some other records on E-Bay. Once again many thanks for posting them and other bands for us to find.

  • @ENS64 I realize your post is a year old, but I respectfully suggest you re-visit Evie Sands and reconsider which version is better.

  • @problem49 FYI , as suggested I recently went and listened to two versions of "Anyway That You Want Me" by Evie Sands. Her voice does get better the more you listen, but I still prefer the LP5's more soulful approach. Both are much better than the Troggs.

  • Glad to have turned you on to such a great original group . " Gypsy Woman" is a fantastic song .'Sister Love" by the Liverpool Five on this channel is one of the few covers that does justice to Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions.

  • I'm extremely new to this band, but not new to this time period in rock and roll. When I was 10, I started to get into Bill Haley and Bobby Fuller, not to mention Connie Francis, The Temptations, The Commitments. Can anyone recommend a few songs? Your favorites? Albums I should look in to?

  • Great group, aren't they? I grew up when this group was popular (they were my favorite group), and also loved the Beatles (of course), and other British rock groups like Gerry and the Pacemakers and the Animals. If you're more into "soul" music, there are lots of collections out there which offer a variety of singers from the 60's. Also lots of collections of British rock from that era. Enjoy your discovery of this music which I think is some of the best ever produced.

  • Ugh, lucky!!!!!!! I'm just discovering.

  • Enjoy the discoveries...your eyes and ears will be opened...there's a lot of great stuff out there.

  • But thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I love the Impressions! I love "It's Alright!" I'm listening to it right now!!!!

  • Try to find "People Get Ready", "That's what love will do" and "Gypsy Woman". They are three of my favorites.

  • Will do! I'm on it! (I will be reporting you on which song I like the best!)

  • Gypsy Woman is my favorite.

  • Recommendation to Shewritesto live...Check out the Impressions and Curtis Mayfield, their lead singer and songwriter. That group was big in the Sixties and influenced many groups of that day and later. I think that the The Liverpool Five were the first English group to discover them and actually recorded three songs ( one on this site) written by Mr. Mayfield and spread the word about him and his group to many others.

  • It's been a while since I dropped by to this site but I want to thank sggrimshaw, brickfaceguy and aeoldal for confirming my earlier comment that Dave Burgess, the LP5's bassist did play a Gretsch bikini double neck. Dave's great bass line on "She's Mine" on Nuggets Part 1 was blatently copied by the Blues Magoos and I wonder if that was that specific instrument.I also like the sound of this same instrument on some of the Cyrcle's records as pointed out by brickfaceguy.

  • Yesterday I received the Best of the Liverpool Five cd and was blown away. The songs that I had only heard on record sound even better in their remastered versions. My favorite " Heart" sends tingles up my spine. " Piccadily Line" and "Do You Believe" also sound better than ever.I wish that "Sister Love" and "Any way that you want me " had been included, but they are still here on this site and I am so glad I found it.

  • Hello Brickfaceguy Thanks for the info on the Cyrkl. You are fortunate to own one the Gretsch bikinis I agree with you they are a bit quirky but they are extremely rare I was told that Dave and Ken of the LP5 had a passion for rare instruments which probably explained why Dave played a bikini, so hang on to it.I have a question is the neck a 3/4 scale or full size? Thanks

  • I love both Sister Love and She's. They are two of my favorite songs by this fab group. Heart by them is my absolute favorite.I will order the cd too.

  • I agree with you Jack London and BCPat5 there is other material that the LP5 recorded I have some 45's "Cloudy" and "Wings" which are exectional records which I believe is some of the groups best work. These tracks are almost impossibe to find these days.Sundazed if you read this comment you have done a great job on this cd but please consider releasing these songs and others so that fans old and new can have more exposure to this wonderful forgotten band.

  • I agree with you, Jack and BCPat. This is a fabulous group I had the pleasure of seeing perform in the 1960's. I've never forgotten them, and was so pleased that Sundazed released some of their songs on a CD; however, it's not enough. We need more!

I hope Sundazed releases the rest of their songs sometime in the near future.

  • Jack London, I agree with you, the Best of the Liverpool Five is a great CD! It has remastered songs from both their albums, so they sound even better than they did on vinyl. Now we need to get Sundazed to release another CD with all the other songs of these talented musicians.

  • Hi Cristianlassa Re LP5 Out of Sight fYI the just RELEASED a Cd called "Liverpool Five The best of" on the Sundazed Label. The album includes 5 songs from Out of sight album Piccadilly Line, I Can only Give you Everything, Gotta Get a Move on, and The Snake. the Album sounds great. You should write to Sundazed to release another album with their other material.

  • Hi Jack, thanks for your gracious responses. I guess the next step is Sundazed... It is really refreshing to know that I am not alone in my memories of this group. This throb that I thought no-one else held precious yet lives!!! Thanks for the heads-up.

  • Thanks for your response. My wife found the "arrive" album in a yard-sale the other day.... but it wasn't the one I DEARLY want to re-connect with. I saw it for sale in a yard-sale in 1984 in Boston where I was studying at the time.. no extra cash at all, etc. Other albums were on sale for $2 and such, MY album was going for $20. Ah well... Do you think it might be re-issued in cd format anytime soon?

  • JackLondon13

FYI LP5 Have just released a Cd the best of Liverpool includes 5 songs from Out of sight including "Piccadilly Line,She's. The Snake. it's released on Sundazed Label. Write Them, and ask for a release of the LP5's other material

  • Is there any possibility of getting a copy of the "out of sight" album? It holds a special memory for me, a young fella playing his sister's records (without permission.. for the WHOLE day) on summer holidays when she was at work

  • Any possibility? Well, I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I suppose your best bet is Ebay: I'm sure for the right amount of money you can find it there. I've never found either of their albums in the years I've been collecting.

  • In responce to Dave Burgess's bass. The Bikini Bass was the first bass guitar offered by the Fred Gretsch company it was invented by Charles Savona and there were 3 models the 6023 guitar,6024 bass, and the 6025 double neck.Manufactured from 1961-63 it is believed only 10 double necks were built so they are extremely rare, and probably worth several thousand dollars.Kenny Cox also used to play a Gretsch Country Club in cadillac green(rare) before switching to Fender '61 and '54 telecasters

  • I'm lucky enought to own a 6025 bikini double neck. It is extremely quirky, but has a nice tone and the necks are fast and very playable.

Putting it together gives a ratchet sound which some have described as sounding like a gun cocking. Check out Youtube videos of the Cyrkle playing "Turn Down Day" and "Red Rubber Ball" to see this guitar.

  • Great to see my Dad here in all his youthful glory. He still hasn't lost his gift with the bass guitar! :) Thanks for putting together a great compilation of images and music. Cheers!

  • Thanx aeoldal for confirming that what I thought was a rare Gretsch double neck bass guitar was indeed true. I wonder how much it would be worth today and I have only ever seen one other "Bikini" and that was in England in the Eighties , first owned by John Entwhistle and then by Jack Bruce.I wonder if that was sold there by the LP5's Dave Burgess.

  • Jack London13

What a great Lead and Harmonies on" If it's Love That You Want" great group, other favoritesof mine are She's, Heart and Sister Love hope sundance is going to release more LP5 Recordings.

  • In response to MB300TE's inquiry about the bass, it appears that it is quite rare.Evidently the instrument played by Dave is indeed a Gretsch, Model PX 6025 "Bikini"Guitar'n'Bass with double butterfly back. It came as a three piece ensemble . Two instruments and a solid body back.

The butterfly back could be used interchangeably with either guitar or bass shafts, or both . Dave converted the guitar to a six string bass so in fact he had the only double bass guitar 'Bikini".

  • Great to hear the remastered versions of these songs on the new cd. The mix is much improved from previous releases of these songs. It is great to see them getting some well deserved recognition and a great sounding cd release to boot. In response to MB300TE's comment, I will do some investigation regarding the bass Dave played back in the day. This will not be a problem since I am a relative of one of the band members. I will get back to you soon.

  • I have checked this video a few times and I have just come to believe that the instrument played by the LP5 bassist,Dave Burgess in the photo promoting this video is actually a very rare double neck Gretsch. If so it would now be worth a small fortune and I did hear a rumor that those guys made a habit of picking up a bunch of rare American guitars and selling them to the likes of Eric Clapton,Ray Davies and Alvin Lee. Anyone else know what I am talking about?.

  • Kando1 I could not agree with you more I saw them play in the Seattle area many times and they did indeed sound fantastic.I visited the Music experience museum in Seattle a couple of years ago and was extremely surprised and disapointed that there was no mention of them.Since you were their road manager do you have any ideas why this great band is not in the museum?

  • I have been telling everyone how Great the music of The LP5 is for over 40 years. It's about damn time people agree. For all of you that never got a chance to see the five in person you missed out. The ones that have seen them know that they where just as good live if not better, as on a (LP.or 45.Ask your parents) Besides music, Steve, Dave, Ron, Ken, & Jimmy are Great guys.

    JOHN: Road Manager Liverpool Five

The CD is Out Of Sight

  • Ya. I've played these tracks for everybody at work and they are all blown away. I work in a small office and we have people in their 30sas well as in their 60s--we all have our favorite songs. Can't wait for more releases from this band because I know there has to be more of this great sound!

  • sggrimshaw

This cd really does rock all the tracks are great."Heart" and "Got plenty of Love" should have hits in the sixties.

  • Glad you have left them on your site because neither "Sister Love"" nor "Any way that you Want Me" were included on their new cd. Maybe they will be on a Volume Two as I believe they are definately two of their best and only you have them on the net. Thanks again for being a leader in the rediscovery of this fantastic band.

  • I had never heard of these guys before and came on this by chance on You Tube. Really glad I did--they are awesome. They are like a discovery four decades later.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed these. You know, I'm always sort of guessing when I put a new video up, but these Liverpool Five videos seem to have struck a chord. I considered taking them down when the CD came out, but I think I'll keep them available for the time being.

  • Superb again.Glad I found your channel- excellent!! thanks

  • I just found out that details of the "Best of Liverpool Five" are now listed on the Sundazed Web site. You can even listen to 30 second excerpts from each of the 18 remastered trax. They sound great, particularly Bob Dylon's " If You Gotta Go, Go Now", better than the original. Check it out.

  • WoW!!!!Kudos for posting info on perhaps the best "secret" of the British Music Invasion of the sixties. The LP5 came to the Northwest direct from Japan. They blew every band off the stage with their fabulous performances and then made a bunch of great records for RCA Victor that were never promoted. RCA was promoting the Jefferson Airplane and the Youngbloods at the expense of the LP5, just ask members of any of those groups(and Revere and the Raiders)who copied them. Watch for a new cd soon.

  • One of the best groups ever. You have great taste!

  • This is my favorite band of all time -- they sound just as good now as they did in when I saw them in the 1960's.

  • Many thanks for this.

  • Welcome! Great group, huh? They could pop with the best of the poppers and garage with the best of the garagers.
