You have a very clever approach to training specific muscles. I am going to do the hip flexor stuff as you suggested. I do exercises of this sort for toning and general benefit. I do my explosive weight training for the bulk of my workouts. I have a few weaknesses I need to address, such as my calfs which get tight from running and this poses a problem for me so I will need to augment this with something. I also swim. thank you for your videos
How affective are these things for biceps alone (obviously tri's are a bonus but you can do them with regular press ups) Im uncomfortable using dumbells I always imagine them dropping on my feet, lol.
Man, this is awesome! I'm backpacking in Europe for 6 weeks right now, with no access to any weights at all, and this is exactly what I've been looking for to keep my biceps in shape. Thanks!
Yes, it's one of the exercises developed by a bodyweight training expert Paul Zaichik. You can look at his Chanel ElasticSteel or his site. Elasticsteel.
Wow, I just tried this. Its not bad. It can really give you a good bicep workout, if its not enough for you, just use your body to add more resistance. Also, It seems to work better if you keep a fist under your knee instead of cupping.
Of course free weights at a gym would be better, but if you dont have time that day or you're in a hotel or something, this is a great alternative.
Paul is a true innovator. Others sell so-called secrets that have actually been common forever; PZ comes up w/ new stuff that solves real problems. (The closest thing to a truly equipment-free sort-of-bicep-move I knew until now was a 'horizontal pullup': Lie prone/arms extended outward-overhead, palms or hammer-fists on floor/pull-slide body forward. Hard wood floor recomended.)
This is THE best bicep exercise I have ever done! It's super effective for me. Thank you so much!

I see.. very informative.. But would this exercise target my elbow plexus and middle deltoid? He never mentioned..
Weykent 3 years ago
What is "Elbow Plexus'?
Celciusss 3 years ago
at 0:19 the guy says this exercise will train the middle deltoid and the elbow plexus. i also am curious to hear what an elbow plexus is.
IMunchGlass 2 years ago
Elbow flexors not elbow plexus. Elbow flexors are brachialis, brachioradialis and biceps brachii.

My biceps are killing me now. Thanks man! Been looking for a non-pullup bodyweight exercise for the biceps!

Just showed this to our ROTC corps officers. And it made the PT program! Nice one guys. Is this a new exercise?

They say "don't judge the book by it's cover", it's good that you didn't.

Paul does a lot of bodyweight exercises.
