Best race I've seen out of Thumbs Up at Sha Tin in quite sometime. He beat some solid horses in this race in Pure Champion(Steinbeck), Irian, California Memory, and Super Satin. I've always thought a mile to 10f is where Thumbs Up was at his best. I was a little surprised to see him being pointed for the G1 Hong Kong Vase over 12f instead of the G1 Hong Kong Cup over 10f? I think the Cup distance would give him a much better chance of winning or making the frame than he'll have in the Vase. JMO.
