In reality more often than not religion makes you weaker. It gives you hope for a life after death and puts the weight of your duties on shoulders of imaginary god. What end ups happening then is that people wait for god to do something for them without realizing that if they don't do it themselves nobody will! A hope for another life after death makes people value their life less and people don't enjoy it as much as they should. If religion works for you then yes you should use it.

Thats not true man, religion doesn't make you 'weak' or whatever. This is what religion is made for; it creates illusionairy concepts to destroy your fears and make your life easier. You can say that being aware that there is nothign after death makes you stronger, but fact is its very likely you're ten times more scared than someone who gives it a mystical meaning.

Templars were mainly French... the fact that he's german has little to do with the imagery he's creating. During the middle ages christians saw themselves as just that ... their faith in christ overrode their national idenitities.
