@sideslide23 CAHSR is a phenomenal waste of money considering that we don't even have decent final mile transit options (even if you call things like MUNI and VTA decent.)
Caltrain is run by a bunch of morons, as has been exhibited by how they've been dealing with the CAHSR mess. Also, what about fiascos like CBOSS, the insistence on running non-standard double decker EMUs, the complete lack of maintenance on their current rolling stock, and the lack of managerial capacity to secure funding.
@countdrugula there allready building the New Transbay Terminal, for the electrified caltrain and the High speed rail, so why would they build the new Transbay Terminal, they probably should have kept the old one if they weren't planning to have the HSR and Caltrain goes out of business.
@petokyo Indeed, it isn't electrified. That train was being pushed by an EMD F40PH-2 or F40PH-2CAT. However, there are plans for electrification in the next decade.
@petokyo its not going to be electrified until they get the California high speed rail worked on. once they get HSR going from San Fransisco to L.A, the caltrain will be electrified.
and one more thing, the caltrain will be moved to the new Transbay temrinal.
