SKA is typically upbeat, more like a feel-good song, a song/way to jumpstart the day. While EMO on the other hand is something that's usually very slow, usually very sad, and a song that makes you want to blame something else.

I'm more of a SKA guy because I'm upbeat. I'm not the sulky type on the corner.

actually this song is reggae(verses)/punk(chorus). ska is reggae sped up. if there was no reggae, there would be no ska.

try again. Ska originated in the early to mid 50's. Several years before reggae ever existed. Due to a heat wave in Jamaica, they had to slow ska down, which created rocksteady....after the heatwave passed, Ska came back and rocksteady became reggae..... Just FYI

I once gave Sarah Vaughn, Ella, Big Mama Thorton and other CDs to a woman who claimed to be a Janus Joplin fan. She didn't get it, even though Joplin was a big fan of the great singers of the past. Great music has deep roots, yo!

Never heard this cover before, I've always loved that song. This was the first ska band I learned about when I was younger. Music was so much better last decade then it is today. Emo is so generic and bland. Its NOT ska, and its NOT punk, but rather emo steals from those styles in order to make a commercially marketable product. In short... emo sucks!
