yeah serious dariusfranke what happened , We have to blame ourselves , take shows like the fartashians , jersey jokes and all the idol shows and flush them all down the toilet because thats what they are and most people buy it .
Isn't if funny when you finally realize how malevolent these clay-faced creatures must be? They clearly don't like each other, to say the least. "Your face is so pretty; I'm gonna tear it up!" XD
Mummenschanz son lo más original que he visto. Absolutamente creativos. Siempre algo nuevo, más los clásicos que uno desea volver a ver, conforman espectáculos absolutamente deliciosos.
OMG!!! I have searching for these for years! vreude you are amazing for finding and posting these. This brings me back to my childhood sooo much. And how weird are these guys?!
does anyone know what kind of clay they are using? it looks so plyable and stretchy yet stays in place very well ... and doesn't seem to dry very fast if it does at all. I would love to get some!

Of course! we are all clay specialists! I study clay in my spare time and know every type of clay on the planet just by looking at it! This type of clay is so easily identifiable by its clay like color and texture! I would guess.....regular clay.
The clay might be a Putty of some kind. It could be this troupe had their own recipe for clay masks. Trade secret? Modeling clay is plyable when you kneed it. Might be rubber... Not sure.
Plasticine clay is way to heavy If that much were put on the human head it would be hard to lift your head. They are from Switzerland don't forget a lot of European clays never make it over here.
I remember this piece from TV when I was a child. Incredible! Last night I saw it live in their show in Stuttgart... Fantastic! The silent art still has something to say. My personal recommendation: spanish mime actor Carlos Martinez. Greetings from Germany, JENNY PS. Thanks for posting this videoclips!
That is simultaneously the most awesome and most terrifying thing I have ever seen. These were so amazing. I remember them so well; LOVED them as a kid!
alot of television from 20-30 years ago was very creative and expressed alot of new ideas and artisitic themes.. but that sort of thing is good for children and teaches them something so you can forget about that now
Remember when someone had to be creative and talented to get on TV? I grew up watching TV in the mid 70's and there was so much going on back then in terms of new ideas and talent. Now look at the tripe we have - "reality television". Thank goodness for YouTube!
@DariusFranke I agree with you totally on this point. I grew up in the 70s too and there was so many new things going on! And "tripe" is a great word to drescribe what we have now!

It's just so cool how they do that. They can't see it at all, what they are making. That takes a lot of practice.

To spicen it up, they could have used knives and made like the villain from "SCREAM". Of course, this clip predates "Scream" by, what, 20 years?

It's Plasticine. Never hardens, extremely pliable.

I think its dough, actually, because it has mroe of a memory than clay.

It's plasticine. You can tell by the texture and how it's holding it's shape.

Very true. Definitely has to be a polymer base clay to be flexible but keep it's shape like that though.
