  • i got my dm 380 today! i had a Mosrite MarkII (ventures model) back from the mid 80's to the early 90's when i foolishly traded it for a Triumph TR-6 the car burnt to the ground 6 months later because of a short circuit under the dashboard. i about crapped myself when i saw that the present owner of my Mosrite wanted for it, $3500. living on disability theres no way in hell i'd ever afford that. i was pleasantly surprised when i picked up a dm380, it's close in sound and feel to my old MarkII

  • what song is that playing @ 00:28 ?

  • @TheTacalo93 As far as getting a Nirvana / Pink Floyd sound out of this, it could be a start. However, Kurt Cobain's UNIVOX Hi-Flier (the guitar this Aria DM-380 is modeled after) was a later series and featured two humbuckers, not two P90's. One thing you could do is put DiMarzio soapbar replacements in it. I believe they make a Super Distortion that fits in a P90. One final thing is that Kurt Cobain's sound was heavily based on his playing style, not his gear.

  • the trem block made me laugh when I saw it but at least the body is routed to take a stock strat bridge. And it's actually asian alder but their description is alder which is slightly misleading.

  • Cobain had a few hi fliers, but he did also have a mosrite gospel, very rare.

  • i have been looking for an affordable UNIVO High Flyer. I finally found it...

  • where are they made?

  • you gotta love this guitar!!!!!!

  • This is awesome!! I've gotta get my hands on one!!

Ever since I had to sell my Epiphone SG Junior, I've been looking for something with p-90s that's also affordable, and I think I've found that with this guitar! Of course, I won't know for sure until I play one for myself.

  • F*** it, I'm getting one of these, and yeah it's a cheap Mosright copy but that's the point..... I don't have 2,000 for a 'vintage' Japanese pice of s***, but I do have enough for one of these... SOLD

  • Mosrites were made in America, and were well made guitars. You can get a modern Japanese reissue for about $1,200, though. Vintage Mosrite Ventures models are in the $5,000 range. This guitar sounds nothing like a Mosrite.

  • @booneh well, mosrites don't have p90's

  • nice guitar, but gay colours :s

  • It seems like a Mosrite copy, so do they have tiny necks?

  • i thik kurt cobain played somthing like that

  • he played a fender Jag. or nomethign like that.

  • yea and he also played a Fender Mustang and a guitar just like this butin sunberust

  • @hotminn yeah he had some kind of mosrite.

  • @bobert995 no, it was a Univox Hi-Flyer (a Jap Mosrite Copy made of Plywood)

  • @kyzrvlhlm1995 he had a mosrite too.

  • "retro" indeed

  • reminds me of my grandparents old 60's fridge

  • Hahahahaha. That made my day.

  • They are gonna go to court with gibson :) just like PRS did when they put P-90s on theyr guitars, p90s are gibson propierty lmao, wow when will ppl learn (jkkk btw)

  • Your joking? Why?

    It's COMPLETELY the truth...

  • Gibson doesn't own the rights to P90s. They went after PRS when they made a single-cut model that Gibson perceived was too similar to the Les Paul shape. It was nothing to do with the pickups and PRS still uses P90s.

  • 4 months ago prs got sued, i worked at guitar center, i know those things....

  • They may have gotten sued but Gibson doesn't "own" the rights to P90s

  • they do...

  • Thats a sweet looking guitar no question about it!!!

  • sounds excactly like dinosaur jr style. :20 sounds like the beginning of freak scene

  • hmm not for me.

  • this is a mosrite ripoff indeed. but who cares.. mosrites are damn expensive now. im gonna get one of this

  • I think Kurt Cobain had a guitar that looked just like this one in sunburst.

  • But made by Mosrite.

  • Kurt had a fender Jazz-stang

  • Kurt had a lot of guitars and not just Fender

  • Comment removed

  • I know, but he also played a Mosrite that looked exactly like this one

  • yeah i remember it! had another color though i think?

  • mosrite :(

  • huh?21 frets? i must preferred for 27 frets of ibanez XPT series

  • Wow my fault the sidejack of eastwood is a re make of the mosrite sidejack witch was designed by The Ventures. But still that makes this guitar a copy of a copy ... I still think its a ripoff

  • OMFG major ripoff. This is al stolen design. The origional guitar is a Eastwood Sidejack DLX. Its bethere cheaper and they are origional. This guitar is just a major copy but done rong.

  • The Eastwood is a copy as well dude, and the Richard Z. Kruspe signature ESP. The original was a Mosrite Ventures. Johnny Ramone played them

  • How can u miss my second coment ... Look at the coment where i say its a eastwoord and then look at the one above it.

But still i played the sidejack and i prefere it. The mosrite is way to expencive these days.

  • the state of that pice of shit

  • looks allright :P hate the colour though O.o bubble gum blue never was a favorite though

  • Me im not for retro guitars, more of a metalhead.

  • HELL YEAH ! Metal Up Your Ass!

    3 <-----

  • niccce

  • VERY SWEET

    SEXY

  • GET A LIFE!

  • Sweet guitar!!
