i got my dm 380 today! i had a Mosrite MarkII (ventures model) back from the mid 80's to the early 90's when i foolishly traded it for a Triumph TR-6 the car burnt to the ground 6 months later because of a short circuit under the dashboard. i about crapped myself when i saw that the present owner of my Mosrite wanted for it, $3500. living on disability theres no way in hell i'd ever afford that. i was pleasantly surprised when i picked up a dm380, it's close in sound and feel to my old MarkII
@TheTacalo93 As far as getting a Nirvana / Pink Floyd sound out of this, it could be a start. However, Kurt Cobain's UNIVOX Hi-Flier (the guitar this Aria DM-380 is modeled after) was a later series and featured two humbuckers, not two P90's. One thing you could do is put DiMarzio soapbar replacements in it. I believe they make a Super Distortion that fits in a P90. One final thing is that Kurt Cobain's sound was heavily based on his playing style, not his gear.
the trem block made me laugh when I saw it but at least the body is routed to take a stock strat bridge. And it's actually asian alder but their description is alder which is slightly misleading.
This is awesome!! I've gotta get my hands on one!!
Ever since I had to sell my Epiphone SG Junior, I've been looking for something with p-90s that's also affordable, and I think I've found that with this guitar! Of course, I won't know for sure until I play one for myself.
F*** it, I'm getting one of these, and yeah it's a cheap Mosright copy but that's the point..... I don't have 2,000 for a 'vintage' Japanese pice of s***, but I do have enough for one of these... SOLD
Mosrites were made in America, and were well made guitars. You can get a modern Japanese reissue for about $1,200, though. Vintage Mosrite Ventures models are in the $5,000 range. This guitar sounds nothing like a Mosrite.
They are gonna go to court with gibson :) just like PRS did when they put P-90s on theyr guitars, p90s are gibson propierty lmao, wow when will ppl learn (jkkk btw)
Gibson doesn't own the rights to P90s. They went after PRS when they made a single-cut model that Gibson perceived was too similar to the Les Paul shape. It was nothing to do with the pickups and PRS still uses P90s.
Wow my fault the sidejack of eastwood is a re make of the mosrite sidejack witch was designed by The Ventures. But still that makes this guitar a copy of a copy ... I still think its a ripoff
OMFG major ripoff. This is al stolen design. The origional guitar is a Eastwood Sidejack DLX. Its bethere cheaper and they are origional. This guitar is just a major copy but done rong.
