this song was way too deep and profound for a teenager like myself in the early 80's. but now 25 plus years later, it makes sense :) OMD , I understand, God, I MISS THE 80'S!!!!!!!!!!
These guys were one of my favorite bands in the early 80's. I saw them 3 times back then, one memorable performance at the old Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Too me and I hope most others, their music is timeless.
@BIGINSF i saw them here in San Diego....best show ever...a dream come true...i was right next to the stage...i almost cried. i have a video on my page if u want to look
Quillian100 Music is my happy place too sometimes. Born in1962, and I sit in front of You tube many nights, before calling it a day, and remember my life before I made it so bloody complicated chasing all the things everybody else wanted thinking that was what I wanted too. I would be much happier trudging through the snow on a silent winters day.
ITS MY FAUVORITE SONG OF MY LIFE.I HAVE ONLY 12 YEARS IN THE YEAR 1982,BORN IN THE YEAR 1970,IN THE FUTURE IN THE MOMENT OF MY DIED ITS MY HYMN,ANDY AND PAUL,GREAT MUSICS,FOREVER IN MY HEART,ONE FRIEND IN SPAIN,KISSES GO TODAY PEOPLE IN LIVERPOOL .
Ok, I am serious here.I was a live-in chef in a hotel in the Scottish borders in the late 70's and on 6am start.I walked out of the male accomadation block with Souviner playing on my walkman and into 6" of unexpected snow.
Everything was silent, the trees were hanging with snow,my nose was stinging from the cold and some dopey deer had got herself lost and was standing 6' away from me looking like she couldn't care less.
Paul Humphreys is singing this song. Usually Andy McCloskey (the guy driving the car) does all the singing. When sung Live Paul, takes a break from the keyboard and takes centre stage!
Does anyone know where this video is filmed. I have a feeling it's Tatton Park, near Knutsford, Cheshire but I can't be sure.
@AndrewHurley69 Paul is singing this one as I think he wrote it ? As for the video - it looks a bit like Tatton Park but it was filmed in Stowe Gardens near Buckingham. He's singing on the beautiful palladian bridge on the lake. It's on 'G.street maps' if you want to pay a visit !
And the garderner over takes at 200 mph on his lawn mower making sure the lawn has had the last trim of the day. Did anybody see the lawn mower pass? oh well he was so fast
Went to see OMD perform for the first time in Glasgow on Tuesday night and they were fantastic. It was a very intmiate gig and fantastic atmosphere. Andy McCluskey also has great energy on stage for a guy in his 50's. At the end of the show he said it was great to see a mix of young and old going to the gigs. Still going strong after 30 years..
A song that along my little lifes way, helps to define who I am today. It only adds a chapter or so but please know this, to my heart I will hold close that one special kiss.
souvenir has to be on everyone's list. so romantic. dreamy. I mean, i really want to sit in that car with the cool wind, leaves, spots of shade, everything going by. great video. i can't separate the song from it.
@tompom89 Sealand is a hauntingly beautiful song! and along with the songs Architecture and Morality, Messages, Genetic Engineering and Enola Gay , would definitely make up my top 10 OMD songs!
Found links to this and "Secret" recently - never heard them back in the day. Both are absolute classics, two of the best tunes from the 80s. Thanks for posting!

@twainname I totally agree. You can't watch this now and not think it looks a little odd as it suggests something more than pals going on between them. Its a shame they can't remaster all of this and put a stereo soundtrack on it to replace the distorted mono one with the wow and flutter.
