WHAT KIND OF AMERICAN CALLS HIS OWN PEOPLE WAR CRIMINALS? RON PAUL MUST BE PROSECUTED!
I'm canadian not american but i agree with the 2nd ammendment of your guys country especially with what ron paul had said about protecting yourselves from abusive governments which i think would be the most important reason to own a firearm, of course you have to protect you and your family but you might have to bite your tongue and co operate if the intruder is at ur home by surprise and ur guns are in ur storage room which i think they shud be so ur kids dont tuch em but if u have time use m
Couldn't agree with Ron much more. Other than me and any law abiding citizen like myself, should be allowed to crry firearms everywhere. Whos going to protect me and my family better than myself? No one!
Ms. Tommyknocker and Pussychka. I assume neither of you are American. If you were you would know that if it were not for Firearms and Guerilla warfare us AMERICANS would be British. How do you think America became a country in the first place. We didn't ask permission. GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES. You are probably the same people that agree that a burglar can sue you if he falls and hurts himself in your house while trying to rob you. You people make me SICK.
To have a gun for the sake of having a gun is stupid. To fire a gun for the sake of firing a gun is also stupid. When Napoleon's armies conquered much of main land Europe they needed guns. But today most people can relie on law-enforcement. So I thing it would be best if we abandoned the 2nd amendment. Was it Moses who brought the 2nd amendment down from mount Sinai?
@MsTommyknocker You spelled Rely wrong in your "Napoleon" comment and Ohh yeah "Spelt" is not a word. That just shows how you are. You point your finger at everyone but never at yourself. Think about that.
we all the right by our founding fathers to protect ourselves and our country. now we need to protect ourselves from our own country. the founding fathers of this counrty is rolling in thier graves of what we have become. they should be ashamed of what we have let the government do to us, while we sleep.
You need to live in my neighborhood....I take my life in my hands going for a newspaper...the predators know me now and know what I'm about..God help anyone trying to make me a victim. I have a coceal carry permit and I'm a responsible gun owner...without it I wouldn't be here and that is word.....
even entertaining for some right wing conspiracy nut, but it's only fun if it's an idle fantasy. So no, I can't see guns as useful. Note also that they were refering to MILITIA. As in state (not federal gov.) organised milita; probably worried about states rights, as all slaveholders were, from Virginia to Tierra del Fuego (argentina). It's actually interesting to compare the confederate 'high ideals' with the ideals of, say, Brazilian or Nicaraguan slaveowning elites. Pretty much the same...
And as for protection against the government...Well, there they're just useless. I mean, there are two possible scenarios. Either someone wishes to resist (unlawful) arrest, for example, and just gets killed, because police are actually TRAINED. Or there's some sort of a guerilla movement, but then the gov. send the professional army. U know: professionals? The ones that are even better at killing than cops? That's just an even greater bloodbath. So yeah, these fantasies may be 'possible'
The problem with guns is that they're NOT protective weapons. They're not defensive. They're offensive. And the lawabiding citizens are not really ready to throw down on the gang-bangers. Even if they were able to possee up, that would just be the end of any system of justice. The thing is, guns are deadly. It leads to MAD on a smaller scale. Imagine a crowded area and someone starts shooting. Everyone gets panicked, they reach for their guns... It's a bloodbath... like bar fight, only deadlier.
The second amendment is pretty clear, as all other amendments! Preserve them all, or be prepared to give them all up as we have been doing! Enough bullshit already! If you want real change, vote for Ron Paul! He clearly is a true patriot, and has a stable record of demonstrating this fact! Ever wonder why nothing changes no matter who's in office? Abolish the federal reserve, cia, fbi, batf, and taxes for starters!
Why do we need government to control our lives? We are responsible for that! Some government is necessary to help PROTECT and SERVE! All these government agencies? Are they really serving any purpose? They're sucking the life out of us for crying out loud! Anarchy=an officer of the law shooting a teen in the back with hands cuffed behind him? Support your local police department. Maybe they will make it to your home just in time to investigate the crime scene of innocent dead family members!
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson
The problem with your Thomas Jefferson quote is that i doubt he foresaw the invention of tanks and other modern weapons. I doubt your 9mm pistols, hunting rifles, shotguns, etc. would do much to a truly uncontrolled government with the military under its command.
Don't retort the assumption that some military will support us to- that just means their weaponry won, not what we wield.
I will say that based on hopefully accurate statistics, i support gun rights for protection.
People actually believe that their small arms would be effective, and still use it as a platform for gun rights.
And the weapon isn't important in the latter, especially if our best alternative is small arms. It's the stance that counts, since a government without compliance cannot exist, even if it gets compliance through fear. I doubt a government with nothing to govern would be very powerful....
TLDR I agree that one should still stand up against the unrestrained gov't regardless of weapon.
You get a thumbs-up for sensible patriotism. Didn't think I'd find any.
Though faith isn't the word i'd use - i doubt the fear-mongering gov't would have the faith of its people. I'd use a word more like.. conformity? compliance? Without that, what good is the government without people to govern?.
with the soldiers coming home and being classified as terrorists I'll bet that they are reading the constitution to see who they owe there loyalties to
civilians have every right to carry fire arms. you act as if police are infalable. cops can be corrupt, millitary can be turned on its people. it is an INDIVIDUALS RIGHT to defend themselves, loved ones and property. were just so watered down becouse of unreadable laws, discrimitory media, and ignorant government schooling that most people dont know what there god given rights are.

We have maintained a silence closely resembling stupidity.
Honesty lasts longer than any one human being, guns and drugs are purposely channelled to inner cities by those in power and usually pretend to defend the second amendment.
The second Amendment was necessary back when the government was not organized enough to protect citizens, now it is just a business, I love guns as much as the next guy but civilians have no business owning guns , you like guns join the Army or the police force.
You don't understand what a militia is, do you? A militia is a fighting force that can be mustered from their homes. Instead of an armory, they keep their weapons at home, ready to be used.
The militia doesn't sally out to deal with every violent crime. The individual would-be victim has a gun in his home to deal with it himself. The reason I said they can muster at a moment's notice was to illustrate that those guns are ready to use for self-defense at any time.
And those milita rifles aren't the only guns in Switzerland, either. Switzerland has the least restrictive gun laws in Europe, so you can get a handgun or shotgun as well.
And when someone is going to kill you then they will strike you at a moment when you don't have the gun in your hands. Which is pretty much all the time.
Militia are often misunderstood. CountArtha is trying to gloss it over and make it socially acceptable to federalists.
The Militia are a group of concerned citizens that are trained for warfare. That's it. The use of the militia is to defend against the state government. If the state government becomes corrupt and abuses the townships, the townships can band together and depose the state government. Likewise, the governor of a state can use militias from towns to fight the federal government.
... therefore, states banded together could defeat the federal government.
The idea was that any abuse of power could be met with deadly force, if enough of the people felt that it was an abuse.
Jefferson predicted the shelf life of a Republic to be 20 years. That is, every 20 years or so, the government would be corrupt enough to be deposed by the people. This would happen through militia. If we had stuck to the plan, I doubt we'd have many of the problems that we have today
My family lives 30 minutes away from any large urban area, if we call 911 the police might as well bring the Hearse... because if we allow bureaucrats to take away our constitutional right to bear arms... me and my family will have no why of defending yourselves... Im not alone in my concern there is an estimated 150 million Americans that could face similar danger... criminals pick their carefully victims praying on the weak and venerable.
A criminal or a murderer will get firearms whether or not they're legal because he's a CRIMINAL. When you outlaw firearms, the only people you're disarming are people who actually observe the law.
How about while we're banning guns, we ban drugs while we're at it so criminals can't get those?
We have a more violent and permissive culture than most first world countries, and a MUCH bigger population. If your population is larger, you will have more murders. Britain has fewer murders but their crime rate is actually higher than ours - I don't know about the others.
We can still stop Obama if RP supporters get out there and vote for McCain, to keep the craziest, gun-banning piece of shit in history from soiling the furniture in the Oval Office.
Obama is the biggest danger to the nation since the Soviet Union fell. He'll destroy the economy, pack the Supreme Court with other Marxists, and gut the military, just like his hero, Jimmy Carter.
For several months I've been a supporter of Ron Paul. I am asking this question now: In view of the fact that Bush will cancel the election, do you think that Bush will leave office? Of course he will not leave office. He will fight to remain in office.
"... if government (forms) an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens little if at all inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens. This appears to me the only substitute that can be devised for a standing army; and the best possible security against it, if it should exist."
"The chief impact, and the only valid rationale for gun control is to render the average citizen defenseless in a world where only criminals and out-of-control governments are bearing arms."
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
I suppose the first thirteen words of the Second Amendment were just lip service... "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the Security of a free State..." Those quotes are antiquated if we're debating the 2nd Amendment in the 21st century. It's much harder to defend oneself with a firearm without prior training or experience with a dangerous situation... it's easier said than done.
It doesn't take a major from an Ivy League university to know how to shoot a gun. A man breaks into your house with a gun. You get your gun, warn him, point and shoot. If your unfamiliar with how to raise your gun in the robber's direction then you shouldn't even have a gun. Your argument is stupid as hell.
I'm a Brit and I believe in the Second Amendment. Simply put, we've got heavy crime throughout Britain and it's a crying shame but We, the People, don't have a right to defend ourselves.
You guys need your very own pro-gun organization like the NRA. If it wasn't for the NRA in America, we would all be in the same situation you are facing. I would definately help support Britian in obtaining such an organization.
I'm a Brit too and I agree fully with what you're saying. Crime isn't the main reason for me though, the main reason why I want the right to bear arms is for the chance for our people to defend themselves against the rise of the tyranny of the British government.
I am sorry if this offends you and it shouldnt because I know the US Govt. is tyrannical itself probably more so than yours but i saw some videos of speed cameras and traffic cameras and all that stuff in UK. Its such bullshit. It makes me so mad to see civil liberties thrown out like that. Just like the Patriot Act of the US allows the govt. to tap citizens phones without a warrant. Its fucking bullshit. Govt has overstepped its boundaries and Im sure glad I have my guns if necessary. God Bless
dude, there's no need to apologize. Evidently I am not on the best of terms with my government. We don't have a democracy, we have a so called "elected dictatorship". The only choice we have is who's gonna fuck us up the arse with overbearing, irresponsible, draconian laws designed to make the population dependent on a broken system.
Come on, buddy.....come ON. Americans aren't all about freedom and the original intent of the founders anymore. That's why we're fucked. We get further away from a visionary like Ron Paul every day. It's sad, but it is, unfortunately, very true.
and using england as an example of what results from strict gun laws is pretty ridiculous. your country is a hitech police state. you are disarmed slaves that are being monitored at all times. its also a good example of where democracy(mob rule) will take you. in our republic we have guaranteed rights, and if the masses vote those rights away thats why we have the second amendment.
I never said anything about explosive decompression - just decompression and the loss of control systems in the cockpit. The best way to keep people out of the cockpit is to have an electronically locked door that can't be opened without weight-on-wheels (standard control logic already in modern a/c). I'll accept worrying legislation is continually being pushed through on the back of terrorism in the UK - just like in the US but MI5 has nowhere near the budget of the NSA and the FBI!

Hmm... some bizarre logic from this guy: The UK has one of the lowest rates of gun related deaths in the world - we also have some of the strictest laws controlling gun ownership... I also don't think this guy is going to get many votes from individuals working for the FAA. A pistol-packing-pilot in a pressurised vehicle surrounded by electronics? Sillyjoel1 -if you're worried about the government - vote for the guy campaigning on the 1st amendment not the 2nd - that's real democracy!
i already had to explain this once. if you fire a weapon in a pressurized aircraft it WILL NOT cause explosive decompression if it only goes through the skin of the fuselage. the only risk is the possibility of a window being blown out. but in the case of a pilot using a firearm for self defense they will most likely be at the door to the cabin pointing towards the back of the aircraft(not firing in the direction of windows). if pressure is lost oxygen masks will drop down.
i am a hunter i hunt respectfuley and i have taught my kids to shoot and hunt it is great one on one sport so go take a couple of shoots from your gun or friends gun or buy your own
hunting is great but thats not what the second amendment is about. its about being able to match or outgun the government in regards to firepower to preserve this country and our freedom.

The Second Amendment explains "The right to bear arms shall not be infringed". However, firearms can, no matter what test can easily and conveniently be used for homicides (killing). People's right to be secure from a higher risk of death is more important than rights. Therefore, gun shall be abolished expect, for use among the military. We have no need for them because, we have a formal military.
The founders of the Constitution originally intended the Second Amendment to be used for keeping the government from infringing the rights of citizens, keeping guys like Bush from passing the Patriot Act. But most Americans probably forgot this by now.
guns aren't that important, plus it would be great if they wouldn't kill ,just knock you out for a couple of hours,i think it would that better, but i don't know
If our Govt does covert ops all over the world , what makes you guys think they dont do them in your backyard? they r hearing your phone calls already.
What if the American-Japs in 1941 had been armed to prevent themselves being rounded up and sent to camps? If the U.S.born Mexicans had been armed to prevent their massive deportation to Mexico back in early 1900's they could have defended themselves, and the list goes on...
to the Fed's. When you want my gun just come to my house and knock on my door and ask for my weapon. Ron Paul is right " We the People will stand together as a our own military.
I fear the Govt, who is to say the Govt is not going to go in to my house and chalk me away to guantanamo and throw away the key?
Fact is the Govt will do what ever it pleases if there is no counterbalance to stop it, that's what the founding fathers had in mind, for a good there has to be a bad, for black there is white, for up there is down, for left there is right, get it?
ron paul is great when he speaks its like history everytime i really hope he become president because he will restore america he is great.ron paul when he speaks its like magic i have a family and feel like i have hope when ron paul speaks i feel like hes speaking to me and wants to really help american people hes not out to just make millions hes a real man and stands up for what he belaves he has back bone ron paul for 2008
Here in fact is the bottom line. They want to disarm us so they can have their way with us. USA is the final holdout of liberty in this world. And if what happened after Katrina with gun confiscation happened nationwide? There'd be a lot of dead cops. I also dont think American Soldiers would go door to door and pick up guns. Veterans are notorious for their support of the 2A. God Bless America
its a comforting thought to think most soldiers and marines wouldnt confiscate guns or track down and kill "trouble makers". but in reality the majority would do it.
Theifs, thugs, and dark doers of the city are given more reason to knowingly go out and attack the people who do not have a weapon of self defense. their more likely to commit a crime knowing that the victim they stalk more than likely does not have protection, makes sense.Taking away gun ownership is a suicide.
Exactly, you're exactly right. People don't see this, though, because their fear blinds them. When I was young, I told my mom I wanted to work in a gun store part-time. She told me it was a bad idea... because someone could come in the store and rob it and shoot me. WTF?! Why would ANYONE try to rob a store loaded with guns?!
Well, plus there's the fact that guns can go off at any time, even when they're unloaded. You might laugh at that, but I've seriously heard people say things like that...
Ha ha! People really do think like that! Plus, you don't even have to put a trigger on a gun, sometimes it can just go off (unloaded) on its own. Especially if a child enters it's ten-foot "kill radius". But the thing is, if you put one of those people into the Thunderdome arena and gave them a choice between 1)a baseball bat with nails in it, or 2)an unloaded revolver, they would choose the homerun hitter every time. LOL at the microscope, btw.
Dude, it's the Thunderdome, not a street robbery. In the Thunderdome, "Two men enter, one man leaves." Therefore your attacker is going to do his best to kill you - not rob you for easy pickings. Go with the bat my friend or else you will end up trying to pistol whip someone who has longer reach.
Talking about why we hate gun laws in here isn't going to get us anywhere. Why don't we all go into a anti-gun chat or some hippie anti-american chat and discuss it there.
Who's talking about hating gun laws? I'm seeing and hearing a progressive legislator, a politician who is not out to blow smoke up my ass, a candidate who isn't glossing over the real issues here in America like the rest of the office seekers. If Ron Paul is to be successful, he must break the stronghold of the two party system and he must run as the independent of choice by those who're sick and tired of being governed by zealots, morons and selfish leaders having only their personal agendas.
Listen to the man. He is a decent moral fellow that tells it the way it is. Delivered over 4000 babys and is NO phoeny. He speaks the truth and have listened to his message now for a couple months and will vote for DR.Paul. For you undecided, just goggle Dr.Paul and listen. He has it going on and has the message we all need to hear. You-tube only gives you so many letters, so please listen to what this kind ,smart man has to say. Google..Ronpaul2008! Im NOT paid!
Gun-control laws do not control crime because crimes are not committed by guns; they are committed by criminals. Criminals will always have guns because they do not obey laws, including anti-gun laws. Those without guns are easy prey for criminals with guns. Gun control encourages crime.
The right to bear arms was included in the Bill of Rights, not to deter crime, but to deter oppressive government. Just governments honor and protect the right to bear arms. Oppressive governments fear and prohibit the right to bear arms.
Guns are dangerous. The only thing more dangerous is not having them.
i just wish this small cross section of anerice on u tube was more of a representation of the usa. most hear seem to have good comen sence and a health suspition of gov. RON PAUL is the only canadate that will restore your individual constatutional rights! all the rest will hapaly slip in to socalisum and beond! RON PAUL read, think, vote!
I support Ron Paul and most of his ideas, but do you really think giving people more guns is going isn't going to cause more deaths and in the long run, put more guns in the hands of criminals?
"Those who give up essential liberties in the name of safety deserve neither"
Benjamin Franklin
The right to bear arms is an essential liberty, besides, as long as I'm carrying a gun I don't fear for my safety. But since I'm not allowed to carry a gun, I get a little worried from time to time.
I like Ron Paul. The main reason I support him is because he's real when it comes to the Fed. The government has the authority to print and regulate it's currency. Instead, they let the Fed. do it, which causes nothing but debt and destroys the dollar. There still is no law to date that makes it mandatory to pay federal income tax. It's a big fraud that only Ron Paul speaks about! Watch "America: Freedom to Fascism"
in texas you can shoot a man for truspassing! gess what thers not mutch b&e in texes! when gov takes away leagle guns thay impower ileagle guns! the founders put guns second thay thought it was that important to protec our selves! guns are not dangerous or gun showes would be the most dangerous thing in the worled! GOOGLE RON PAUL read just 3 pages and think for your self. his 10 year voting record doesent lie!

I know criminals don't get guns from gun shops. If the criminal was unable to get his gun illegaly than he would not be able to shoot me. I dont need a gun to defend myself.
People with guns kill people. We would not need to protect ourselves if there was no violence in the first place.
If you choose to trust in the innate kindness of a multiple felon. That's your business. You've the freedom to do so. Never forget where that freedom comes from. There are currently over 80 million firearms owners in this country. Giving up the SA equates w/giving up the country. We will never do that. Now go back to your fairy tale dear...
We have background checks. We have them up the wazzoo. We've many more gun laws than are enforced today. The ones that are, only impede the law-abiding folks. Criminals don't bother w/legal purchases. There are literally hundreds of millions of firearms in circulation in the US. The bad guys will always have them. Just a little reminder: the gov't can be those bad guys too. That is the primary purpose of the SA.
True...but do you really think that violence is going to go away? Have we ever existed in a world without violence? Oh, and I suppose you're gonna just karate-chop an armed intruder, huh? Watching Steven Segal movies again?
I feel for you guys. I think it's a damn shame that you folks over in the UK can't have handguns, and I'd be happy to help in any way that I can to help restore that right.
If let somebody get a gun how do you know they are going to use it for good? If the criminal does not get the gun then he cannot shot you. A U.S. citizen should only be able to own a single action revolver and a pump or lever action rifle. Semi-automatics are too dangerous. I like guns, but I am willing to giveup mine for the grater good.
why cant my door on my house open out schools malls stores open out for safty your house open in its easier to kick in a door that open in then out keep out badguys faster exit in danger to push a door open?
if any of you watching this video are nra members please go to the nra website and let them know that you are RP supporters and want the nra to support RP as of right now the nra does not even list RP as a candidate and he is clearly the best candidate for gun owners and the USA Ron Paul 2008
The reason why Ron Paul isn't on their website is that the NRA has been hijacked a long time ago. Go to Gun Owners of America, an organization that actually fights for gun rights. The NRA has been bought and paid for.
"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson
I think the meaning if the 2nd amendment is easy to understand if you look on how it was implemented. Answer this: did they take away peoples guns after passing the constitution?
If your answer is - no, then you know the indend.
Every criminal in this country that believes in a god, is praying that the government takes the right, of law abiding citizens, to bear arms, away. As it is now, the best deterrent against a break in, you(this means YOU)might have, is the fact that the perpetrator does not know whether or not a gun lives there.
Second revolution veritas? Can we bring back the Guilotine? Made by Gillette, now with FIVE Blades, for an even better cut! and a slick shapley handle to boot.
I THINK GOD FOR YOU RON PAUL!!!!!!!!Finally we some body that really believes in the 2nd amendment. You will have my vote and my family's vote. RON PAUL 2008!!!!!!!
Gee, whats the Taco Supreme court going to decide, peoples rights to bear arms or the feds rights to kill us with taser guns? You can't even own a breed of DOG in Denver and many other cities. Yes Pit Bulls suck, my dog was killed by one in Rural area, then I grabbed my ARMS and took it down.
I read there are about 190 million gun owners in America. If they were outlawed ,HOW many citizens do you think would group up and fight? I think 50 to 60 million. There are about 1/2 million cops.there gonna need a lot more cops.
we wouldnt need nearly that many. the best plan is to have a lot of 3-4 man teams that are well funded and can hit hard and fast spread out across the country. the police would be steam rolled by the unorganized militia rather fast. and so would the fbi and batfe. the real fight will be against the military and thats what you need to get prepared for. plus a lot of them will defect and join us.

even entertaining for some right wing conspiracy nut, but it's only fun if it's an idle fantasy.

@Pussychka Go hop on a time machine and go back to NAZI Germany or the USSR and see the fruits of gun control.
MiddletownDreamz 2 years ago
And as for protection against the government...Well, there they're just useless. I mean, there are two possible scenarios. Either someone wishes to resist (unlawful) arrest, for example, and just gets killed, because police are actually TRAINED. Or there's some sort of a guerilla movement, but then the gov. send the professional army. U know: professionals? The ones that are even better at killing than cops? That's just an even greater bloodbath. So yeah, these fantasies may be 'possible'
Pussychka 2 years ago
The problem with guns is that they're NOT protective weapons. They're not defensive. They're offensive. And the lawabiding citizens are not really ready to throw down on the gang-bangers. Even if they were able to possee up, that would just be the end of any system of justice. The thing is, guns are deadly. It leads to MAD on a smaller scale. Imagine a crowded area and someone starts shooting. Everyone gets panicked, they reach for their guns... It's a bloodbath... like bar fight, only deadlier.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -Thomas Jefferson
circlecityrabbit2004 2 years ago 3
The problem with your Thomas Jefferson quote is that i doubt he foresaw the invention of tanks and other modern weapons. I doubt your 9mm pistols, hunting rifles, shotguns, etc. would do much to a truly uncontrolled government with the military under its command.
Don't retort the assumption that some military will support us to- that just means their weaponry won, not what we wield.
I will say that based on hopefully accurate statistics, i support gun rights for protection.
Frostwhisper21 2 years ago 2
agree 100% that small arms fire against a tank would be insane, anybody with an I.Q above 50 could realize that.
But the power of our enemy does not lessen our responsibilty to protect the innocent.
circlecityrabbit2004 2 years ago 3
People actually believe that their small arms would be effective, and still use it as a platform for gun rights.
And the weapon isn't important in the latter, especially if our best alternative is small arms. It's the stance that counts, since a government without compliance cannot exist, even if it gets compliance through fear. I doubt a government with nothing to govern would be very powerful....
TLDR I agree that one should still stand up against the unrestrained gov't regardless of weapon.
Frostwhisper21 2 years ago
Well they could be affective, just not against tanks or armor in general obviously lol
Yeah exactely, no government can survive one its people have lost faith in it.
Exactely, no matter the weapon, we still have the right and the duty to stand up when government gets out of control.
circlecityrabbit2004 2 years ago 5
You get a thumbs-up for sensible patriotism. Didn't think I'd find any.
Though faith isn't the word i'd use - i doubt the fear-mongering gov't would have the faith of its people. I'd use a word more like.. conformity? compliance? Without that, what good is the government without people to govern?.
Frostwhisper21 2 years ago
Lol yeah that's a good point, more like conformity and compliance than faith.

Switzerland has the lowest murder rate on Earth. Why? Because every household has an SIG assasult rifle in the closet.
CountArtha 2 years ago 2
I'd like to see where you got that idea.
A SIG assault rifle doesn't help when someone tries to kill you unless you are WIELDING IT.
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
There are 220,000 militia in Switzerland with two YEARS of training. They are authorized to use their weapons if threatened.
CountArtha 2 years ago
Yes, a MILITIA!
that doesn't stop someone from pulling a gun at YOU and pulling the trigger.
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
You don't understand what a militia is, do you? A militia is a fighting force that can be mustered from their homes. Instead of an armory, they keep their weapons at home, ready to be used.
CountArtha 2 years ago 2
mhm
220,000
The country have 7,7 million people.
And the militia get MUSTERED.
So when someone pulls a gun at you(which no one does in front of armed forces anyways)
then you are gonna hope that the militia musters and arrives to protect you in a second?
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
Okay, how do I make this clearer?
The militia doesn't sally out to deal with every violent crime. The individual would-be victim has a gun in his home to deal with it himself. The reason I said they can muster at a moment's notice was to illustrate that those guns are ready to use for self-defense at any time.
And those milita rifles aren't the only guns in Switzerland, either. Switzerland has the least restrictive gun laws in Europe, so you can get a handgun or shotgun as well.
CountArtha 2 years ago 3
like i said: 220,000 militias.
7,7 million people.
And when someone is going to kill you then they will strike you at a moment when you don't have the gun in your hands. Which is pretty much all the time.
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
Militia are often misunderstood. CountArtha is trying to gloss it over and make it socially acceptable to federalists.
The Militia are a group of concerned citizens that are trained for warfare. That's it. The use of the militia is to defend against the state government. If the state government becomes corrupt and abuses the townships, the townships can band together and depose the state government. Likewise, the governor of a state can use militias from towns to fight the federal government.
Jaspian 2 years ago 2
(cont'd)
... therefore, states banded together could defeat the federal government.
If we had stuck to the plan, I doubt we'd have many of the problems that we have today

investormark1 3 years ago
Have you thought about that this is an evil circle?
The amendment allows people to have firearms of almost any kind.
Which means a CRIMINAL or a MURDERER can get firearms of almost every kind.
It is not weird America has the highest amount of people killed by firearms each year.
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
A criminal or a murderer will get firearms whether or not they're legal because he's a CRIMINAL. When you outlaw firearms, the only people you're disarming are people who actually observe the law.
How about while we're banning guns, we ban drugs while we're at it so criminals can't get those?
CountArtha 2 years ago 3
Well strange that all the other 1st world countries doesn't have tons of people getting murdered with firearms all the time then.
Hjernespreng 2 years ago
We have a more violent and permissive culture than most first world countries, and a MUCH bigger population. If your population is larger, you will have more murders. Britain has fewer murders but their crime rate is actually higher than ours - I don't know about the others.

I never said anything about explosive decompression - just decompression and the loss of control systems in the cockpit. The best way to keep people out of the cockpit is to have an electronically locked door that can't be opened without weight-on-wheels (standard control logic already in modern a/c). I'll accept worrying legislation is continually being pushed through on the back of terrorism in the UK - just like in the US but MI5 has nowhere near the budget of the NSA and the FBI!

i already had to explain this once. if you fire a weapon in a pressurized aircraft it WILL NOT cause explosive decompression if it only goes through the skin of the fuselage. the only risk is the possibility of a window being blown out. but in the case of a pilot using a firearm for self defense they will most likely be at the door to the cabin pointing towards the back of the aircraft(not firing in the direction of windows). if pressure is lost oxygen masks will drop down.

You might laugh at that, but I've seriously heard people say things like that...
kylebstiff 3 years ago
A gun is loaded forever, no matter how many times u tear it apart and extract the ammo with a microscope, its forever!!
sillyjoe1 3 years ago

The right to bear arms was included in the Bill of Rights, not to deter crime, but to deter oppressive government. Just governments honor and protect the right to bear arms. Oppressive governments fear and prohibit the right to bear arms.

Dennis Kucinich (2nd most popular on the net) and Mike Gravel's been endorsed by Ralph Nader.
Although they disagree on some issues they are the only three candidates that are honest by a long shot.
Don't be fooled by the Republican vs Democrat BS we are all Americans.
Please repost this on as many videos as you can and demand that Kucinich and Gravel support Dr. Paul.

If we all merge forces (ignoring the false left/right paradigm) we really could get these neo-con criminals in our government sent-off to prison!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I know criminals don't get guns from gun shops. If the criminal was unable to get his gun illegaly than he would not be able to shoot me. I dont need a gun to defend myself.
People with guns kill people. We would not need to protect ourselves if there was no violence in the first place.

Treelev,
If you choose to trust in the innate kindness of a multiple felon. That's your business. You've the freedom to do so. Never forget where that freedom comes from. There are currently over 80 million firearms owners in this country. Giving up the SA equates w/giving up the country. We will never do that. Now go back to your fairy tale dear...

I am unrealistic, but I think that background checks would help.
treelev 4 years ago

No free citizen should be without firearms.

apickle - you are absolutely correct. The second amendment is the only concealed carry permit we should ever need.

If let somebody get a gun how do you know they are going to use it for good? If the criminal does not get the gun then he cannot shot you. A U.S. citizen should only be able to own a single action revolver and a pump or lever action rifle. Semi-automatics are too dangerous. I like guns, but I am willing to giveup mine for the grater good.
treelev 4 years ago
Criminals don't get guns from gun shops, because it's illegal for them to. You'll never know if he gets a gun.
When he decides to rob your house, will you have a gun? Or will you let your only provision for freedom go by the wayside?

if any of you watching this video are nra members please go to the nra website and let them know that you are RP supporters and want the nra to support RP as of right now the nra does not even list RP as a candidate and he is clearly the best candidate for gun owners and the USA Ron Paul 2008
tobnotadork 4 years ago 5
The reason why Ron Paul isn't on their website is that the NRA has been hijacked a long time ago. Go to Gun Owners of America, an organization that actually fights for gun rights. The NRA has been bought and paid for.

Too bad the media doesn't give him nearly the same amount of coverage as the others.

A government that does not trust it's citizens with the right to bear arms is a government not to be trusted.

Hey - that's the best I've seen it put yet, to date... and I've seen about every arguement.

Thanks for noticing, it is a variation of a bumper sticker I once read. It is compelling truth and a reminder for the Brady gun grabbers.

I think the meaning if the 2nd amendment is easy to understand if you look on how it was implemented. Answer this: did they take away peoples guns after passing the constitution?
If your answer is - no, then you know the indend.
VermoXL 4 years ago 3
Every criminal in this country that believes in a god, is praying that the government takes the right, of law abiding citizens, to bear arms, away. As it is now, the best deterrent against a break in, you(this means YOU)might have, is the fact that the perpetrator does not know whether or not a gun lives there.

Wood2WouldNot 4 years ago
He sounds good on other issues but I thought his arguments here were weak.

They're not weak, they're just very simple, as they should be.

I read there are about 190 million gun owners in America. If they were outlawed ,HOW many citizens do you think would group up and fight? I think 50 to 60 million. There are about 1/2 million cops.there gonna need a lot more cops.
zeno57 4 years ago 2
we wouldnt need nearly that many. the best plan is to have a lot of 3-4 man teams that are well funded and can hit hard and fast spread out across the country. the police would be steam rolled by the unorganized militia rather fast. and so would the fbi and batfe. the real fight will be against the military and thats what you need to get prepared for. plus a lot of them will defect and join us.
letsmoge 4 years ago
Haha, it would be like SWUT, not SWAT Teams, because this is SWUT you get when you pull my cold dead gun away from my hot tempored body.
