  • This is SO great! I am so proud of these guys. They totally deserved this. I realy hope they will keep playing together for many more years. My biggest wish is to get to see them live someday.

  • Congrats RUSH! A World class band and classy guys!! Brilliant!!

  • They raised money for the homeless and hungry??

Guess their not republicans or teabaggers.

I'll download a few more songs and buy the dvd.

  • grandes musicos merecedores de todas homenagens pelos trabalhos inovadores que fazem, tecnicos tecnicamente 99;9% perfeitos . A formula que deu certo!!!parabens pra voces. merecem!

  • Alex had a few moments of trying SO hard not to laugh!

  • This is really cool, and MUCH better than that stupid RR hall of fame.

Lerxst, Dirk, & Prof.: shine on!

  • What criteria does Neil use to decide whether or not he's going to show up for some kind of pomp and circumstand-type of event? I mean, if he really hates the adoration and fame part of his job, then why does he show up for something like this? Just curious. He very rarely shows up for any t.v. interviews and NEVER shows up for meet-and-greet backstage gatherings with the band's fans. Just sayin'.

  • @EzrinJem2 In earlier days Peart did meet & Greets and interviews, although he was more selective and reserved than Geddy or Alex. But after the deaths of his daughter Selena and wife Jacqueline in 1997 and 1998, and upon returning to Rush in 2001, the band decided Neil should be spared the inevitable questions that would surround his well being and the circumstances surrounding that time in his life. This induction ceremony was 5 months BEFORE Selena's death.

  • this is the higest citizen award in canada a person can get

  • Geddy has his shades on, what a bad ass :)

    Alex looks soo skinny, hahaha

  • i'm a U. S. citizen, but i so want to be Canadian whenever i think of Rush.

  • His middle name starts with an E?!?!?!

It better not be like Edmund or something.

  • @Antmasesan Worse... It's "Ellwood".

  • when I first saw and heard this video, once again, got the chills and did actually teared up. AWESOME!

  • *Giggle* I just noticed that the band is standing by order of height: Neil (6'4"), Alex (6'0") and Geddy (5'10").

Yes...three very goofy guys in such a serious moment, being honored by their country as the first rock band to receive the Order of Canada. No wonder we sense their concealed laughter. :p

And yes, three very goofy guys in such a serious moment, with all eyes on them. No wonder we can feel their concealed laughter. :p

On a serious note, this was quite an honor for Rush to become the very first band, Canadian or otherwise, to receive the Order of Canada. Damn, I was only three years old when this ceremony happened! *Pout*

  • Rush rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are the greatest reason to be Canadian, super proud to call them fellow Canadians.

Super proud of them and all they have done. Keep the great music coming boys!!

  • pure class!

  • Who was the woman speaking, They are royalty now

  • This award has sunk lower than the grammy.

  • It does look they were trying to keep themselves from laughing. that's funny.

  • If I were Geddy, Lifeson or Peart I would too nearly explode laugh.

    Because It's so fuckin serious!

Great vid. And funny too :D

  • classic they look like they are about to crack up laughing

  • Love Rush. Love Canada.

This was a really great video.

  • Awesome video! Thanks for that!!

  • pride!

  • There's no other band better the Rush.

    Keep living in the limelight

  • Is there anything more Canadian than this?

You'd need to have the Montreal Canadiens and some mounties in a poutine food fight on top of the CN tower to beat it, I think.

I feel all warm and fuzzy.

  • Only if they stopped at Tim Hortons first and then all met at High Park after the fight to share a Molson and show there was no hard feelings.

  • @dansk59 and have some beavers running around

  • These guy's are the best. They represent what it means to be Canadian! They can laugh at them selves and be humble and greatful all at the same time.

  • this is really nice, when you look @ them you can see their faces that just want to explode in laughter.

  • LOL they must now explode in laughter

  • HOW COOL! When I first saw this video, beginning to end, I think that I almost cried, because what they did and are doing, is very cool! I hope that Rush will do that again! Congrads!

  • alex looks like he is about to bust out laughing

  • they all look like they're about to explode in laughter

  • It's awfully formal formal isn't it?, it's almost like they're in pommyland.

  • Gededy please! You could have worn your non-tinted glasses for this occasion! LOL. Now go watch a "Tony Sings Rush" video on youtube and behave yourself.

  • Love da Geddy! Rush Rules!

  • Good ole' frost-bitten Canadian Boys.

  • I'm so proud of them! What an honor!!

It's hard to believe 10 years have passed, too...

  • A proud day for Canada and Rush fans everywhere!

  • too short!

  • That's actually all there is involving Rush. The ceremony honors about 40 other recipients, and Rush are not seen or mentioned anywhere in the rest of the video, which is about one hour long.
