  • they can get money from the toronto leafs who had not made the playoffs for 22 years. the leafs have 123 million but did no make any moves cause their getting ripped off. The leafs say if they remove there team by 2010 then toronto gets all that money.

  • when you mentioned the jermaine o'neals salary and saying it is a problem...its not a real big problem if u look towards the future...when jermains contract expires after the 09/10 season that is the same year tht all stars LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Bosh's contracts expire as well. The point im trying to get at is that with Chris bosh and Jermaine o'neals contracts expiring that year the raptors will have cleared a lot of salary room for those stars.

  • this would be my starting lineup for the raptors

C- Jermaine O'neal PF- Chris Bosh SF- Jamario Moon SG- Anthony Parker PG- Jose Calderon

not kapono of barganani is SF because Moon is a good blocker. and the bench will also need good players you know, just like ginobili and gordon at bench

  • delfino would produce if the raptors decide to sign him back, reports say we've signed hassan adams to take his place who played international last year, and we also signed roko ukic who has tremendous potential, also we might sign our indiana pick nathan await who is said to be the next shaq, this would benefit us until he gets old lol, im thrilled the raps made this trade and it will benefit us considering oneal now has something to compete for

  • The second O'Neal steps on the court with Calderon and Bosh he's gonna be bringing his A Game. Calderon can find oneal in perfect position and bosh and oneal can do most of the scoring together and of either are doubled u got deadly 3pt shooters to dish it to. This team should win 50 games very easily if Oneal is healthy. Expectations are high!!

  • this is sickkk!!!!! and I agree i think this is the celtics line up right now.. raptors can go to the finals with this trade.. but Kapono i think is a way better shooter then Allen and he proved that in the series with magic.. my starting five would be:D

    Center-O'neal

    PF-BOsh

    SF-Moon

    SG-Kapono

    PG-hose

and alter the SG position as well as the sf with andrea.. i think were gnna take it NO DOUBTT!

JERMAINE O'NEAL THE MINUTE HE COMES TO A BETTER TEAM HIS GNNA PLAY!

  • the raptors have improved alot man...i think i would keep anthony parker in the SG spot in the startin lineup, he's a better defender plus kapono plays better off the bench and he doesn't have to guard the kobe's, caron butler's and vince carter's basically. if o'neal stays healthy, toronto should be a top 4 team in the east next season without a doubt.

  • yayayayayayay

  • YYEESS I LOVE THIS TRADE! jus hope jermain oneal is healthy and plays at tht allstar level!on the other hand, whos gonna b our backup point?

  • delfino can play point but if u ask me calderon could prolly play a full game and isnt injury prone considerin hes all passes and jumpers

  • hell yeah man, preach on. i like delfino to play SG, he's more explosive and gets out in transition but if sam mitchell has to, it may be a considered option and yes calderon can play a whole game, he was doin that when ford was out last season so ur right in that aspect.

  • o'neal healthy, this team has a good chance in the east to be a high seed come playoff time. i think toronto will workout who will backup calderon over the summer, from what someone told me they have this guy name ukic who's an international player, 6'5" and can handle the rock good so i hope he can fill in that role well.

  • O'neal-Centre Bosh-PF Bragnani-F Kapono-sg calderon-pg if they sign him from free agentcey and the bench Humphries-pf Moon-F Parker-sg and what I think they should get from free agentcey Okafur-C If tinsley is not needed from the pacers we should take him to Back up calderon and keep delfino and find another benchwarmer, maybe another centre :D that's what I think...do u agree?
  • i dun think they can sign tinsley and okafor cuz oneilz tking too much cap space :(

  • yeah mean ur right, o'neal is takin up most of the cap space, tinsley is injury prone anyway and i see okafor stayin in charlotte anyway.

  • i like ur lineup but i'd put in moon at SF, he's a defender and most nba teams have good SFs so i'd bring in bargnani and kapono off the bench so they're not guarding the star players too much. I'd keep anthony parker in at the SG cuz he can battle the kobes, carters and lebrons. i think bargs and kapono play better off the bench. i wouldn't take injury prone jamaal tinsley, i'd pass on him. that would be good if toronto can get okafor but there would be too many big men on the team feel me?

  • Yeah man I feel ya, but one question, if you were the manager of the raptors, who would u sign to a contract to back up calderon?, well the free angents that are point guards.

  • Hmmm, I don't know, right now can't think of anyone but I may have an answer down the line...its mostly star guards who r free agents like arenas, monta ellis but a trade for a valuable PG would work.

  • the raptors have brought in roko ukic, their 2nd round pick in 2005 from croatia. he played in italy last year. obviously the pg today is calderon, but don't be surprised to see this guy bring something to the table

  • now the raps have calderon & roko ukic (6'5 point guard) huge potential

  • u know i forgot about ukic, haven't seen him play but i guess i'll see him more next season.

  • andrea bargnani is not that strong, they need O'neal in the paint, and Bargnani kinda reminds me of Dirk nowithski

  • the raptors should have drafted a point guard isntead of a centre they already got Andrea Bargnani

  • hey they drafted roy hibbert but he's bein sent to indiana, he's not staying in toronto. and yeah a backup like mario chalmers would of helped calderon a bit but hey i'm not the GM.

  • tj ford's gonna rape the raptors next season... just like VC

  • no, im gonna give him a standing "Ovation"

  • and i don't need a standing ovation, i just hope jermaine o'neal stays healthy which i think he will be.

  • now raptors dont have a good point guard combination

  • Wedon't need a good point guard combo. As long as Calderon is doin his thing, were O.K

  • yeah ur right in some ways but nothin wrong in havin a good backup that can fill in a role...two good point guards on one team works out sometimes but in this situation it didn't unfortunately but the NBA is a business and calderon is secure now knowin he won't lose his starting job if he doesn't play well.

  • caldeorn only wnated to trade if the team was going to suck next year he didnt care aobut starting he just wnated to win and ford didnt care he just wanted to start...who would u rather have on your team...especially considering tj bitched all the time and calderon just wnated to win i think calderons the perfect pg

  • oh i know man, calderon is a winner, he wears his heart on his sleeve on the court like me, plays with that intensity, plus i think he's a better point guard overall, he knows when to shoot, knows when to pass and can lead a team better. nothin personal to ford or anythin but i like calderon better.

  • sorry everyone in the first sentence of my last comen i ment:bargani need 2 get 7 or 8 hours in the gym

  • Ford is gonna become an all-star

  • or a bumm

  • They traded them

  • i think the raptors should've tried to keep the pick but still trade ford.

  • jermaie o`neal = tj ford,nesterovic,17th overall draft pick..not a bad trade for raptors..raptors doesn`t need tj ford anymore because of jose calderon..if that trade will agreed on both teams..raptors will return nxt season with a hug e low-post threat...JO7/CB4

  • its now a official

  • i think the raptors made a right move all im gonna say is one thing roko ukic our international guy that plays as good if not better then jose, i say bring him over and that is adressed and tomorrow go and trade kris humphries/joey graham for players/picks and end of story nothing left to do our needs are adressed!

  • dude i thought you would snap at that comment but shows youve got class

  • nahhh, that comment didn't bother me...I'd love to be on TV but the way the industry is, u either somehow gotta get noticed or know someone...and yeah I have class, I don't take comments like that too personal.

  • you so wish you were a tnt analyst

  • hell yeah i do! it doesn't even have to be TNT, it can be anywhere for all I care!

  • yeye welcome to Tdot Jermaine! Him and Bosh will make a nice duo, but I aslo think we will regret letting TJ go and keeping Jose the pylon Calderon...

  • to all indiana pacers lovin the trade, just know that t.j issed 28 games last year and came back crap. he will get injured and miss time this yr its almost guaranteed

  • This is what happened with Ford. In the beginning of the year I thought he was great for the raptors. Once he got injured Jose Calderon started getting more playing time and showed how good he really was. Calderon even recieved some all-star exposure. When Ford came back he was uncomfortable because they kept Calderon as a starter and Ford believed he should be a starter. When healthy Ford is a top point gaurd in the league. He averaged 12 points and 6 assists in only 23 minutes.

  • I like T.J. Ford, he's just injury prone which is unfortunate. I hope he can stay healthy with Indiana. Ford was unhappy in Toronto and wasn't willing to split minutes with Calderon. I think two good point guards don't need to be on one team anyway and some guys fit in certain situations. Ford will fit better with Indiana, younger team, u got Dunleavy, Granger, Rush and Murphy to pass the ball to. Jim O'Brien will incorporate a more uptempo style come next season.

  • hey man, that's why I hope Indiana plays their cards right and still tries to get a point guard in the draft. If Westbrook and Augustin and Bayless are gone, they better get Chalmers play it safe. Don't need Tinsley and Ford on the bench in suits every night. We'll see what happens in a few hours.

  • i gotta say... if this deal goes down, toronto wins it. Ive watched the raps for a while and T.J. had to be rid of in order for calderon to play startin point. Rasho is a soft center. 17th pick will be a scrapper. If jermaine oneal is healthy, he is one of the best centres in the east. he wont be asked to do everything in toronto which will put less strain on his health. Ford is so agile its not even funny. So in the end, toronto wins because they get rid of 2 unnecessary guys and a proj-17pick

  • well said man, couldn't of put it any other way. A healthy O'Neal with Bosh, Calderon running the show, Parker at the 2, Bargnani at the 3, they'll be a much improved team. I can't believe Toronto took on such a huge contract from O'Neal but they did need to get tougher down low. Nesterovic is more of a shooting type of center instead of a banger and clog up the lanes so going to Indiana will be better for him. Sam Mitchell likes toughness anyway.

  • People need to stop calling Bargnani a 3. He's a 4/5 he can't guard Pierce and Butler and would get eaten alive by Carter or Jefferson. It's a a good deal for both sides a healthy O'Neal provides what we need and if he's a bust we have space for Bosh + one of Bron, Wade or Melo

  • I say Bargnani is a 3 only because of his shooting ability. Power forwards and centers mostly post but then again these days u got guys like Nowitzki playing the 4 and shooting 3s. Bargnani can't guard most players in the NBA at the 3, 4, or 5. Toronto has improved greatly and something tells me O'Neal's injury days are at an end and he'll be able to stay healthy next season and play at least 60-70 games in the regular season.

  • nah bargani is a 4 the raptors need 2 get this kid like 7 or 8 houes in the 8 and build a ben wallace guy, i think TO needs 2 trade bargani ok first draft pick but still havent show much as others first draft pick even kevin durant has been better! trade bargani 4 idk prince? lets see wat happend next

  • well... they have agreed to trade on draft day... wow.

  • If we make this trade than we will be finacially fine during the 2010 season when O'neils contract expires that will clear a large amount of caproom when Chris Bosh's contract expires, and so does King James, and Dwane Wade. Also if things don't work out in Miami for Wade in the next few years maybe Toronto could try and push for him.

  • I'm surprised Toronto took on O'Neal's contract but Toronto should be fine, they'll improve greatly. When free agents roll around in 2010, it will be interesting.

  • I smell a championship coming if this trade comes along

    C-O'neal

    PF-Bosh

    SF-Bargnani

    SGParker

PG- Calderon They would own Boston

  • uhhhh I'm not sayin Toronto would win the East with that lineup, believe me they need more help that just Jermaine O'Neal. Deal could go thru, might not but just know Toronto needs to get tougher inside so at least they're trying something...if it were me, I'd try for Elton Brand but I'm not the GM, I'm just the average sports fan who talks basketball in front of a camera

  • well... if bargs can get on the scene and the raps can get a slashing pg(J.r. Smith anyone), they can become contenders in the east

  • Hahah J.R. Smith can help Toronto's shooting need and he would be a good backup. But I don't know if Sam Mitchell will deal with his attitude and shenanagins off the court. Imagine if Toronto could get Artest at the 3? Okay let me not hype up anything and get u too excited, lol.

  • lol tru... if raps can just get a slashing 2 guard it will make a huge difference. I dont think bargs can play the 3 so if jamario somehow explodes next yr it would be great. but in the long haul, the raps had space in the cap to begin with Oneal's contract isnt going to hurt the raps since they already have a great bench. Its just that sg and backup pg that they need to adress

  • toronto's shooting need? toronto is one of the best if not THE best shooting team in the nba. toronto got exactly what they needed in a low post presence that rebounds, and didn't give up any shooting in the deal. great trade. with o'neil healthy, the raptors have one of the best front courts in the nba, not to mention great inside D, and remain the best shooting team in the league aswell. brian collangelo is easily the best GM in the league.

  • c-jermaine o'neal

    pf-chris bosh

    sm-wat ever

    sg wat ever

    pg wat ever

  • but... indiana would also be stupid to take injury prone t.j. ford... 1 hit to the head and hes out 15 games... great player dont get me wrong b4 that injury he was the raps best pg but he has probs. Nesterovic will surprise indiana. he came alive in the raps season avg 20ppg in the last month or so.. very productive

  • I don't think indiana would be stupid to take ford, yes he's injury prone and he makes me look huge as boney as he is but if they do snatch him, I guess tinsley is coming off the bench and they're sayin indiana will go big with the 11th pick. Somethin tells me the Toronto/Phoenix deal could go through, Ford and a draft pick for Barbosa. Its just madness these past few days.

  • i think it was in fact for diaw... but seriously TJ is a great pg and can be an all star no doubt. but people dont realise his injuries. One time josh howard hit his head and he was out for 6 games. Very fragile if u asked me

  • Jermaine Oneal's contract is enormous. nuff said. raps will not do this deal prolly will aim for richard jefferson or something

  • Toronto's money situation is diff cuz they're in Canada so I doubt if he gets all of that money...if Toronto is considering it, that means they're willing to take a risk, who knows, I don't see the deal happening either but anything is possible in the NBA. RJ is probably goin to end up in portland since portland is not lookin to keep their pick and they need a veteran at small forward so outlaw can be a sixth man and they ship out miles over the summer.

  • haha I've seen NBA teams do more absurd things then take on a guy like Jamaal Tinsley...Who knows...I'm keeping my fingers crossed, its time for a facelift...My question to you is who do you think that player that is going to get drafted higher than they should? We see it happen every year where a player like Renaldo Balkman gets picked where he does and it causes us to scratch our heads.

  • Ummm, as far as a guy who gets drafted early, after danilo gallanari, there r international guys that can go early so don't be surprised and mario chalmers i'm hearing could be drafted in the teens. i'll be discussing that in my next few videos coming up later today.

  • Jmel...I like the thoughts of this trade but I don't think this is going to go down. His contract is a monster like you said and I think the Raptors would be idiots to take it on w/ J.O.'s injuries the past couple years. If it does go down I'd still like to see the Pacers draft Augustin at #11...D.J. would play under Ford w/ the Longhorn connection. The trade would give Bird and the Pacers that other first round pick they've been looking for. Maybe take Kofous or roll the dice on McGee

  • Hahah, hey if Toronto is willing to take on that contract, knock yourself out. Plus I heard that in Canada you don't make all of the money on your contract, that's why ppl avoid goin to the Raptors to ball. If this trade somehow managed to happen, Ford and Augustin would be good but who's gonna want Jamaal Tinsley? I know Bird is tryin to move him too but then again, I can name some teams that would be dumb enough to take him, lol. I would hope for this trade so Indiana can improve, we'll see.

  • um by the way2 weeks ago the candian dollar was worht mor then the u s stupid we make mopre then u guys but recently u s has gone up by 1 cent so it doesnt matter its basically da same money

  • I know me personally, I'll take U.S. money in a heartbeat, no offense but Canadian money wouldn't do anything for me whether its the same money or not. You don't see too many NBA players running up to Toronto during free agency with the exception to Jason Kapono last summer.

  • well... the money is pretty close in terms of value... it even evens up at times. so w/e jermaine has been injured forever even if his money is cut it would prolly be 100-200k less so not really significant

  • they don't pay their players in canadian dollars

  • oh for real? i didn't know that...see, learned somethin new...thanks for the heads up man.
