G-D IS THE GREATEST G-D IS ONE People are many; Worships are many; G-d gave people some path; Nazarenes have own path, so Jews and Muslims have. Yehoshua the Nazarene is G-d to Nazarenes; He was a man to Jews and the prophet before the Prophet to Muslims. A Nazarene can't turn Jew so a Jew can't. G-d gave'm their path, as a father gives different education to each child.
@navh07 I originally encountered this as part of the soundtrack from Martin Scorsese's Last Temptation of Christ which could spark a whole new controversy. In the movie as in the novel, Christ is depicted as both god and man... a man with passions and doubts, agony and ecstasy. My Muslim relations consider Jesus to be "only" prophet. Not an easy job btw. While Christians see him as God and part of the Trinity. Jews may acknowledge the historical figure, but don't see him as god or prophet.
Given that it is not good to miss-Identify things or people, whatever the true name of this should be, it one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. I am so sorry it has triggered some ill feelings amongst people. Music should be a healing force between all people helping us to realize that we are here to awaken from the illusion of our separateness.
This piece if from the CD Passion Sources featuring Baaba Maal among others. The title of the piece is Call to Prayer. No offence meant and would appreciate a translation.
Baaba Maal,a most accomplished genius of the human vocal.Though he was raised Christian,he's childhood best friend was Muslim & he spent a lot of time with his friends family. He was first exposed to the Arabic styles of singing/music & became outstandingly good at it himself as you can hear. Not sure if he's a Muslim these days but it certainly did not matter to the warm family who welcomed him into their house and shared their culture.
@avasephora ...He's got more talent in his little finger than you'll have your whole life..I think you'll find that he's African, not Asian (that's another continent for your information), Besides, you and I, and all the posters here know that if you saw him or any of us for that matter on the street your streams of verbal abuse would dry up very quickly...Face it, right now, the only courage you have is when you're sat behind the saftey of your computer...
@xxBiohazardHackerxx you are wrong. it is the name of the piece of music on the soundtrack, the person who posted it simply wrote the name that it has on the cd from which it was taken. so what if it is not the adhan? if someone made a title mistake is it always gotta be an insult to muslims? you gonna declare a fatwa? no one was having a go at you you need to chill the fuck out and stop being paranoid, peace out....
Please brother, you are making Muslims look bad. This may not be Adhan but literak has kindly published this piece of AWE INSPIRING music. His motives are irrelevant .. peace be with him.
@literak :S r u crazy !!! why do are you calling it athan then :S :S please man my change the name !! there are a lot of none muslim people how will watch this and thin thing this is how we call to the pray !! this is very bad what you are doing !!
@messidona1989 - what's the matter? it's beautiful. Franz Schubert's "Hail Mary" isn't the religious tune, it isn't played in masses but it's wonderful.
@friedolin1263 man you just cant call any thing athan !!! even if it is wonderful !!! :S the athan is supposeto be performed like profit mohamad (saaws) showed us not like this :S !!
NOOO....not that song. That song is the music video. At the very begining of the movie when you see the dead people. I think it is this guy singing. It sounds exactly like him. Although I could be wrong.
I'm sorry to state that, but that's nonsense! Everyone knows that it's not typica call to prayer and you are seriously mistaken as long as the name of the song is "call to prayer". sry
i lyk the music but i dont agree with what it stands for, convert all to allah i dont mind religion i dont believe i fink it brings culture but i fink its brought more war and death than anything else as well
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
wouldn't it be great if muslims actually believed that God was great and were actually the religion of peace that they claim to be. But we know the truth. They all worship satan...
Why do you say they are worshiped by Satan? That's bullshit. Everyone needs reverence. Your behavior is kinda irreverential behavior. In fact there is One God: Allah, God, Jahwe, many names which mean the same God. Many different ways to pray, to believe. I love it, that there's such a huge variety of people, they impact my life and I can learn from them. We can thank only God for that
now the situation is realy bad, I wish I can go back :( but I will wait, in my religion we always have to be pationt for what ever happens to us. But Iraq for me is the most beautifull country in the world and the people are so nice and the hospitality is great there.. I miss every thing even the iraqi thee :(
I wish you enjoyed the show and see next time lol I just like to say that always..
Why does everyone need reverence? Why can't we live in a world of logic, reason, intelligence and peace? Without all the dogmatic and supernatural delusions?
My comment was to the other fellow. To you, I'd only thank for sharing this gem. I used to have a radio show in California in which I couldn't help but play this track almost every show. Every week I tried to create this ethereal soundscape and the mystical voice and music of Baaba Maal's "Call to Prayer" was perfect for it. So, again, thank you for the share.
what? this is the first time i have ever been here! why did you message me? I like this tune... It's totally bad ass what with the ambiance and all.

I'm a 5' 9", 125 pound, white veteran of America's Army (I drove an M1-A1 Abrams Tank) and I absolutely love this kind of shit.
Led Zeppelin (and Robert Plant, to this day) incorporate a lot of mystical, middle eastern sounds in their music.
And, since Zepp is my all time favorite band, I've grown partial to mystical-sounding, middle eastern music.
It may not be the REAL, 'Call To Prayer', but it's still pretty cool. Pretty damn cool.

Baaba Maal is from Senegal and this song is about praising Allah and the Prophet.......The author of the video should have renamed it.
