  • do you trim frequently your hair?

  • were you always natural?

  • WHO THE FUCK thinks youre hair is fake? literally, WHO? im genuinely confused. im not sure if you guys know this or not, but they DONT make weave that THICK, LUXURIOUS AND LONG ! #stopbeingahater

  • the length of your hair inspires me i have never seen natural hair this long before. I mean your hair is longer than a weave and it looks healthy. U are such an inspiration and testament to black hair can grow long natural and healthy.

  • Hi LHDC, when did you start to notice the change in texture? At about year 2 or year 3 of blow drying for example?

  • Your sooooo blessed you were blessed with beautiful long hair. Not every african-American like myself are very fortunate to have Long hair like you

    Ps.tour hair is 100,000,000,000% real

  • Officially my new hair crush!

  • You don't have to explain yourself. We the subscribers know you honest.

  • HA HA people believe your hair is fake...they must be blind.

  • wow your hair texture has changed dramatically over the years not in a bad way but the coils has dropped and got looser my hair is similar to how your hair use to be i wonder if it will change as i retain length

  • chill background music, I would be curious to know the name of it. I like your response about gray hair. For me it is a sign of survival, respect. Or lets say it's God's odometer for his creations.

  • @Wataki2.. I have had silver hair since 15 so I am used to it.. I actually like it cause with my texture it's not as shiny and the silver catches the light more to sorta highlight my hair ..@Longhairdontcare2011..Love ur hair.. Sorta reminds me of mine when it's wet.. sometimes it look damp instead of wet n when itis blow dried it's huge.. can't wait to reach ur length..

  • Pretty hair!! Do you ever wear it as a wash and go? Or curly?

  • how long have you been growing natural?

  • beautiful hair..love the vid's

  • your hair is very beautiful!!! I dont relax my hair either. How did u grow your hair so long?

  • Song from Twilight , :) your hair is amazing . May i have some lol .

  • Your hair is absolutely Beautiful,Thick and very Healthy! My hair is long and very thick like yours too(almost hip length)! I have not put any videos up because some of these people are very rude and I have zero tolerance for negativity. I enjoy your videos and I you are very polite especially considering how rude some people are to you. Keep being positive! a lot of people appreciate it

  • Ur hair is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!! where was ur hair length at the start of ur hair journey? Also how long did it take for you to reach this lenghth? I love ur hair

  • Beautiful hair! And you should not address the haters who have issues and want to say your hair is not real. Sadly they are ignorant.

  • <3 ur videos

  • Do you have a specific diet or work out routine??

  • I really admire your poise and presence in your videos. I love Yes to Carrots(and Yes to Cucumbers conditioner) too. A looooong while back I remember when they changed the formula of YTCarrots and you mentioned that you bought the new formula. I just wanted to know if you still really like it as much the first formula. I switched the YTCucumbers for a while because I was hesitant about the new formula. thanks

  • i love how humble you are and how well you carry yourself. your hair is beautiful and i can't wait to grow my hair out :) and i can't believe people STILL think your hair is fake...thats just ridiculous!

  • Wow, people still saying that's not your hair......ookaaay.

  • Wow, people still saying that's not your hair......ookaaay.

  • Girl don't even waste time addressing your haters. Your length speaks for itself! At any rate, one man's "heat damaged hair" is another man's "trained hair" If it isn't breaking, I don't see a problem!

  • omg i am soo jealous of your hair.. I LOVE IT.. LOL ITS BEAUTIFUL.. can you tell your hair regimen like what you do at night or what you use or even when do you do trims? lits great to see such beautiful natural hair like this .. sadly its rare .

  • this vid sucks & i'll tell u why! it's an outrage that that hair is not on my head! it's beautiful! idk if anyone has asked but how much has your curl pattern changed w/ heat use?

  • I soooo agree with you in regard to all of the hair typing. I have to learn MY OWN hair and what's best for it!!

  • omg my hair is all natural (never had any perm but i've use a flat iron about once a month. i also try to trim my one split ends but i have a few) and about 3 inches past shoulder length when curly. I WANT TO GROW MINE!! I'm 18 years old. TIPS please? :)

  • Also, I find that the longer my hair gets, the looser the texture becomes, and I never use heat. I think the texture loosens as it becomes heavier.

  • I think people who cry mixed whenever they see someone with hair longer than theirs are just people who are too lazy to learn to look after their own hair.

  • you are so well spoken. i know im mixed & not looked at the same, at times it hurts b/c im still black. its like im not welcome on the black or hispanic side. i get alot of meanness about my hair too. it is now to my tailbone & i get the eye rolls, the pfffttt..etc.. In elementary school the threat was always about cutting my hair off. its so sad that we have to battle each other when we already have to battle the world. all shades are beautiful. thank you for such a fabulous channel! ur awesome

  • awesome vid. thanks for posting ---i learned so much. I'm just starting to realize how to manage my own hair and my daughter's ---hers is long, mine is short. But I'm done with the labels concerning texture. Thanks again!

  • This is now one of my favorite hair vids...EXCELLENT message!

  • I'm really happy I saw this, because I have really been considering getting my hair heat trained. You hair looks so beautiful :D

  • haters

  • Clearly you're not mixed...and if you are your hair has a kinky texture.. so ppl are silly if they say that. It's beautiful tho

  • Hello, i was wondering how often do you blow dry your hair

  • Thank you for the messege at the end. Yes, some Blacks and others alike have a tendency to think that Afro-textured hair can not be grown out past the shoulder. Anything longer than that, then the person must not be Black! So sad how people view one another in such narrowminded ways. Nonetheless, your hair is beautiful and please continue to take excellent care of it! You are living proof of what wonders Afro-textured hair is capable of!

    Peace & Love

  • Girl, make your videos, and enjoy making your videos as much as I enjoy watching them. I know that there are MANY progressive women (black or other) that enjoy watching them as well. Don't worry about the ignorant- they're only here to hate. And don't feel like you need to explain anything to them. Haters will always be everywhere, no matter what you say. So don't talk to them. Talk to us! Hopefully they'll catch up.

  • Heeeeelp! I want to reference the video about how you only wash your hair once a month because you want low manipulation and also how you dont wash your hair just because its like tuesday..you'd rather wash it when its dirty. Can you send me the link please :) I can't find it and I'm trying to help explain this concept to someone.

  • Well said sweetie and thanks for sharing.~Hotep

  • Beautiful!!!

  • YOU ARE MY HAIR INSPIRATION!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!

  • OMG!!! Your hair is GORGEOUS! Please continue to disregard the negative comments. I have NEVER seen anyone's hair as beautiful as yours. You obviously keep your hair in tip top condition. I loooooooooooooooooooooove it! Great job in caring for you hair. Keep it up. :0D

  • Great vid! And crying mixed is so ignorant!

  • Wow I wish my hair was that long but I hate detangling now since it grew...idk if I could keep up with all that detangling but hopefully it'll be easier to manage my hair in college

  • thx for the throwback pics too, im 1yr natural n still learning -lol. thx so much for sharing chica

  • Mmmm love this song. is is a beat or a song we can buy?....thx 4 th pics. they help us see if we have the same/simular hair type

  • I thought I had hit my terminal length (APL). I stopped tracking growth for almost a year and focused on retention. Boy was I surprised-pleasantly. I guess water does boil faster when you're making biscuits.

  • I like what you said about people need not cry "MIXED" because someone has a different texture of hair... I go through it all the time.

  • @Transformedstylist88 cosign i feel ya on that one!

  • Beautiful hair and very well put together video. The whole heat thing irritates me to the point that I don't even comment anymore about it. People really should just worry about their own hair. Proof is in the pictures!

  • genuinely interested :)

  • great video lady!

  • I thought you did a video a while back where you showed us how to detangle after washing. Some of the folks need to go back and watch your prior vids

  • Your situation is inspiring to use natural chicks so thx for that but any ways i dont know how old u are but i am getting up there in age and starting to notice more and more grays popping up So what if any thing do u plan on doing about grays? because i have a huge complex about it And i know its shallow and all but help me out a little:D

  • @wataki2

I am a bit of an odd ball. I actually like gray hair, so I'd keep mine whenever I did start to get it.

  • @Longhairdontcare2011 I would too. Every time i say this, people tell me i'll change when it happens...who knows

  • @wataki2 henna?

  • @wataki2 I <3 gray hair!!! ur gonna rock it!!!

  • I'm curious how long your typical, wash/detangle/dry sessions take? My heart says I want to grow my hair longer, but my head says "girl, please". You definitely have beautiful hair. Thanks for the vids:)

  • Yassss!!! Loves it!

  • Girl! how did you get your hair so long? I'm gonna be honest, it looks extremely tough!

  • You go girl! I hear you, that's your hair, you don't have to explain squat. I agree with you on the hair typing!!

  • You are officially my hair crush, girl straight or your natural texture are both beautiful and it looks so so healthy. Keep up the good work. How long have you been growing your hair, I fail to remember? But nevertheless you are a true inspiration to me and to others who have been wanting to grow their hair so long. May God to Bless you and yours more abundantly.

  • Your hair is beautiful, how long have you been growing it?

  • cute hair

  • People still think your hair is fake? Well, it is what it is. It really does not matter what people think if they are not the ones taking care of your hair. You said it pretty well in this video though that it's your hair. God Bless! Stay beautiful!

  • You go girl...thanks very helpful

  • GORGEOUS GIRL HAIR! but the worst part, its usually black girls who are doing the "dat aint yo hair girl" thing. such a shame that black girls are always so quick to dismiss each other. and often more racist to each other than non black racist people when is come to black girls with long hair. one day soon i hope ALL black girls can have enough self esteem to realize black skin doesnt mean you cant take care of your hair, keep it healthy, and have length.

  • Don't cry mixed statement...Classic!!! lol

  • Wow that's a damn shame ppl still think your hair is fake ugh smh! Ppl!

  • wow my hair isn't even 1/3 of yours

  • Wow your hair is gorgeous, I hope one day my hair will be that long.

  • Evidently You have taken care of your hair really well beautiful!. What kind of a moron would insist your hair is fake? Clearly it's all yours.

  • Your hair is just beautiful!

  • great message about crying mixed when you see a black girl with a different hair texture. im fed up of this, not all black people have the same hair textures and to claim they are not 100% black becuause of this is stupid.

  • Hi, my 1year anniversary is in may and I am actually wanting to get my hair straighten to do a length check....the initial time you used heat did you do it yourself or did you let a salon do it?? I think you are very uplifting and well spoken, thanks for the videos!!

  • GREAT vid. You are my inspiration. I've directed all my friends considering natural for themselves or kids to your channel. My texture is kinkier than yours in some areas, but more than anything it gets PAINFULLY tangled, even the not so kinky sections, this is what scares me the most about attempting to go natural. The pain. Hopefully I will find a great conditioner that will allow me to comb through it the way you did in the vid, that would be hair eutopia for me

  • I like what you said at @7:44 because women forget that your hair also weights it self down as it gets longer making the curls and coils not looks so tight

  • great progress!

  • very well stated. thanks for sharing!

  • Your hair definitely looks healthy to me. Thank you for sharing these pictures with us because you aren't obligated to.

  • Great Vid and do not feed into people who think your hair is fake. You can clearly see that your hair is not fake. Great progress on growing out your hair.

  • i know you have lots of comments but how to you get the comb to glide through so easy and does your hair taper off at the ends. i've read that sometimes that can happen and to not trim unless needed

  • Great video. Your hairs looks great either way. I show all my friends your videos when they look/ question y I'm going natural.

Inspired by your videos, but apl is fine for me. Don't think I can handle it if it was any longer. :-)

  • :)

  • You have A LOT if hair! I love it

  • Good vid thanks...and happy new year :)

  • Good vid. Just wondering how's your sister's journey?

  • You have beautiful hair and it shows that you take the best care of it. All of the people who think that your hair is fake, or think that you have heat damage to hide, wish that their hair was as thick, long, and healthy as yours. These are also people who probably don't make the effort to attain optimal hair health. Keep doing your thing miss! Peace & Love!

  • I really enjoy ALL of your videos that I've seen. You have beautiful hair. I REALLY appreciate you showing us the "throw back" photos in this video because I've always assumed you were just 1 of those girls w/naturally long hair, and I didn't really think your methods would work the same for me. Now, after seeing a glimpse of your journey I am more enthused and excited.

Thank You! ~ For your time & effort. I really appreciate it.

  • im so itching to do the BC .. lol my last video shows my mini chop... but im waiting on more lenth i guess

  • I am loving your tutorials as well as your outlook on life and absolutely your hair!

Keep teaching and I will keep learning.

    Be Blessed!!

  • Beautiful as usual. And you hair looks healthy to me. Good going!

  • WOW I am SPEECHLESS????? ok Found some words now lol. How long did it take to grow it that long? Your Hair is your crown and glory and it is BEAUTIFUL. who cares what anyone else says!!!! I respect you girl and am glad to have you give us some of your pearls of wisdom!

  • awesome... Keep doing you!

  • I know what you mean girl my 17 year old daughter has your texture and after years of fighting with her and 100% virgin hair she walked out of the show the other day and said, "Mom look how my hair is now after I shower" she is too shy but she finally gets it why I handed her a flat Iron and never put any Chemicals in her Hair.

  • Love you hair and videos!!!

  • inspired.

  • wuts your natural hair type??

  • @Beccyzzstyles Why does that matter? If you want to know if her hair is similar to yours, all you have to do is look at it. I've never understood people asking that question when they have the person's hair to look at. Besides, I think you kinda missed one main point of the video, which is that she can't (or doesn't) type her hair, partially because the texture has varied over time with heat training and differs on different parts of her head. (Plus the typing system is flawed).

  • Love your hair..

  • Thanks so much for sharing. I`ve been interested in seeing ladies curl patterns who are straight naturals. Thanks again. :]

  • Where can I purchase a comb like the one you are using to comb your hair? My daughter has really thick hair and its Mid back length. I take 4 hours just to detangle her hair to avoid hurting her. Help please!

  • @afroxhic do you wet it when you comb trough her hair? It works for me.

  • @afroxhic Its called a rake comb you can buy it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc. or your local beauty suppy store. I paid less then two dollars for mine at the beauty supply store.

  • HI. have you ever considered keratin treatments? i heard it is great for naturals who dont want relaxers.

  • your hair look beautiful wet..... n 4get d haters who thinks dat ur is fake it who ever they r, dey just mad.........................lol

  • How come you don't do wash and go's? It would look really nice on you.

  • it's natural for any hair texture to change with length with or without heat due to the weight of the hair. I don't see why people give you such a hard time or pay so much attention to other people texture for that matter.

  • Your hair is gorge (short for gorgeous...LOL) I love the words at the end but are you sure you ain't mixed with some Cherokee....LOL. Just playing ;-)

  • That is some hair for yo ass!! Gorgeous hair. Keep doing whatever you need to do to keep it that way!

  • god your hair is so beautiful. and so are you.

  • You are a serious hair CRUSH!!!!

  • This was very inspiring, Thank You! Later for the Haters!

  • beautiful hair

  • I have to tell you. Your hair is beautiful, and I am amazed at the inquires that your receive. You tubers in general taking the time, to take people on their own journey. With people still expecting more. My hat goes off to all of you who still find joy in sharing your journey with all the constant requests and endless opinions. Sometimes having to cover the same ground over and over again. God Bless you. Keep doing you.

  • Great video! I agree with you about the hair-typing. I hope it does help some people but so far it hasn't benefited me. It mostly seems to divide people into cliques by hair type just like the naturals vs. processed nonsense, raw natural vs natural w/ color, heat, fill in the blank, etc or WWN (weaves and wigs naturals). Hair, like fingernails is an extension of us - not a definition, IMO. Love your styling tutorials. :) Keep 'em coming.

  • You're so wise for your age :)

  • @6:38 your hair is beautiful.

  • Very well said and thanks for sharing. Your hair is gorgeous!

  • OMG your hair is gorgeous. Considering the invested effort and time you must put into caring for it, your hair could only be this beautiful and love you back.

  • Love it !!!

  • HALLELUJER @ 7:44. People need to get with the program. Black/Africans have the highest genetic diversity. I've seen Nubians with naturally wavy/straight hair in Egypt and Sudan. Africa ain't called the Land of Diversity for nothin' (yeah that's right, no "g" @ the end)

  • Your hair is Bee-You-Tee-Full!!!!!! Wow! I always use your journey video to encourage people to go natural and they are always convinced after seeing it.Thanks for sharing.Your hair is amazing!!! Personally, I don't' think the hair changes because DNA is DNA. I just think with time and length it appears different but it truly isn't. We've never had enough patience to see. Like you said, we've always cried, "she's mixed...that's why she can do that" or whatever.I hope we stop that.

  • @101Corkscrews you've made some very good points :)

  • i love this vid!

  • Please don't talk about the negative foolish comments in your video...it spoils our learning and the beauty of you training us! Its clear that you hair is yours. Stay beautiful and smooth x

  • Great video, your hair is gorgeous!

  • beautiful hair!!!!!

  • U ARE THE INSPIRATION 4 MY NATURAL HAIR JOURNEY!! THANX 4 THE VIDS...COULD U DO A COUPLE TUTORIALS ON MAKE UP? URS ALWAYS LOOKS FLAWLESS AND I ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO APPLY MAKE UP TO MAKE IT LOOK PRETTY AND NATURAL, ESPECIALLY HOW U SHAPE UR EYEBROWS!! THANKX FOR ALL OF UR VIDS!!!

  • Love your gorgeous long hair. You look beautiful as always as well. Awesome

  • *drools* your hair is so beautiful, it's crazy....lawd if I ever get to your length..look out world!

  • @chinablk Thats what I was thinking :D

  • im glad you address this!!beautiful hair me and my mom are so inspired by your journey! also whats you skin regimen?

  • Forget them girl! Those haters simply hate themselves for not doing the work necessary to achieve beautiful hair. Most believe my hair is fake and I'm only at BSL.

  • lovely i enjoyed this video. Ireally liked the comment at the end of the video. Myhair texture is curly & thick when wet but when it is drylord help me.many ppl say that i am mixed. Which is not true

  • Your hair is really inspiring and beautiful. When I'm fed up with my hair and later when I see one of your videos, you make me want to stick with my hair goals. You've done a really amazing job with your hair. Ignore those who say it's fake, damaged, or criticize your techniques0. You are doing a reallyy phenomenal job :D

  • How often do you us heat on your hair?

  • Everything about you is beautiful.

  • Very interesting. I had heard that if you use heat it would change your hair texture over time but I thought that was an old wives tale. I also thought that was only with straightening combs -- which is real old school. Now that my hair is getting longer, I am finding that I need to find alternatives... and yes, twist outs leave my hair more tangled because I comb it less. I may try this during the winter months. I wanted to ask what you do with it when you sleep?

  • Love the vid - thanks for sharing!!!

  • I really appreciate your vid because it shows you dont use alot of heat .It also shows you have to patience which is why im relaxed but i plan to use your techniques to stretch. Harmful techniques can be used on hair but only in moderation. Thanks!

  • Great vid and beautiful hair!!! I get so annoyed when ppl say I must be mixed or have "good hair" because of my texture/curl pattern :-/

  • From my experience with my own hair, I wouldn't say the texture really changes. What it is is that the longer your hair is, the heavier it is and the easier it is to elongate the curls. Also I have so many people who assume that my hair is a straighter texture because I'm mixed. They don't realize that my hair is actually a very tight curl. There's nothing "mixed" about it. It looks straighter because I brush it back with bees wax or gel into 1 or 2 pony tails. Illusion all illusion.

  • I mean it's obviously her hair and she really does not need to prove anything to the stupid little haters who take the time to watch her videos....I would sooo kill to have my hair that length. Go girl hair power ^_^

  • i love it most people say you can`t get your long if your families hair is not long even thow it seems impossible it is not every thing is possible just try we can do anything if we try just try we can make it threw our trials so anyone who wants longhair you can do it try set your mind to it

  • very nice video. thank u for sharing!

  • Thanks for the video and the message, what's ur sign?

  • Your hair is gorgeous!!! Especially in it's natural curly state.I love how long and luscious it is. I still don't understand why some people cannot believe that our hair can grow and can be as long as anyone else's The texture of my hair is changing the longer it gets too.Congratulations on all of your progress:)

  • sooo how come is you hair SOOOOOOOOOO long .. I WANT IT :'(

  • u came a long way.............

  • Wow! Your hair is beautiful. I'm gonna have to go through your videos and see what you do to get it so long.

  • thanks for the video and i loved the message at the end. my hair to has changed over the course of time when i first went natural msy curl pattern was tighter now its looser i get the questions are u mixed. and i always have the hardest time trying to prove i am not. god bless u

  • Love the video

  • Where you flat ironed to prepare your hair for washing, did you have previous oils/products in your hair?

Was thinking to do something similar before washing, but I'm afraid the products will not go very well with the flat iron. Thanks :)

  • Nice video! ur hair looks nice wet.

  • Thx for sharing with us. Your hair is beautiful and I love your frank attitude.

  • Let the hater hate...its all they know how to do...you are beautiful...your videos are always informative! I love your confidence to be and do you! More people in general should follow suite

  • Finally! :) I never requested a wet hair video from you, but noticed you didn't have one. However, I did want to see your hair wet. My intention was not to judge you in any way. I'm relaxed and have considered going natural. The extreme amount of reversion that naturals have, is a main reason for not doing so. I was curious to see if natural hair that is as long as yours (and heat trained), shrunk up as dramatically when damp or wet. Thank you for posting this. Your hair looks great.

  • I agree, My hair textures changes every 2-3 years.... So I understand.. obviously you know what you are doing with heat to your hair because you know how to take care of your hair... silly for someone to make that kind of assumption.

  • I'm not mixed, but my texture has changed over the years. I notice that my curl pattern is bigger when I use more protein. I guess since my hair is naturally very soft and frizzy, it needs the protein for strength. Also sometimes it takes years for your hair and scalp to get use to you not relaxing your hair.

  • I am happy to see you've posted a new video and always look forward to them. I was relaxed for about 16 years, transitioned to natural, lost patience and texturized, and now I'm back to transitioning to natural. You really Inspire me on my hair journey so thank you. Some comments can be hard or annoying to continuously read, and its easy to want to loose your cool, but you're always a professional. Kudos, see u in the next vid :)

  • I can't believe folk are hating on your vids. If anything they are jealous! Your hair is gorgeous! You keep doing what you do to inspire others. Those haters will keep on watching, too. Bless you!

  • probably not even heat damaged at all, her curls looked pretty intact to me. The curl pattern evolves anyway over the years so its hard to determine how much of that is due to heat and how much is due to nature. So, said ALL that to say, if this video inflames you with rage b/c Longhairdontcare uses heat on a regular basis, calm down, and realize that she is a natural that WANTS her hair straightened, and you obviously are not...beautiful hair btw, your curl pattern is still gorgeous :)

  • Heat usage is a very "heated" topic in the natural hair world, when it really shouldn't be, it all depends on what kind of hair you want to have. If you want luscious curls, stick to a no/very little heat regimen. If you want your hair straight 95% of the time, straighten. Its that simple. Longhairdontcare2011 is living proof that using lots of heat might not DESTROY your curl pattern, one thing you have to consider though is that she really makes sure she protects her hair, so her hair's......

  • I'm mixed. but my hair texture has changed as well. It is now super, super curly. Even curlier than yours and it was never like that when I was a child or a few years ago. Probably because of all the relaxing I had done to it from my early twenties until now. So over 10 years of relaxing. I use Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner becoz it's easier for me to comb through my curls, that's how tangled they get. I have some pics I can show you in an IM.
