The glowy things at the bottom of the statues in Starscream's coronation were explained in the original movie draft script. Apparently they are the souls of previous Decepticon leaders. It's actually a plot point, because Megatron's soul/spark escapes and meets Unicron later.
Crasher, Smallfoot, Pathfinder, Snoop, Sparky, Vamp, Spac-y
some female Gobots. Some are better characters too :)
