I love this song, it would have been a huge hit had it been released at the height of the grunge era in the early 90s but it still rocks today. I come from CT, close to New York, and I love the lyrics. There are too many damn songs about L.A., even though it is gorgeous. To even things out you might as well fuck NY too, lol. The thing about Chicago is, it means "smells like rotten onions" in the Native American Language where the name came from.
