Just one thing that came to mind while I was randomly thinking about this scene, by that way I've watched this scene many times for the brain wave hit me. Josh would no doubt have a mobile phonem and Donna is in her apartment, surley a quick call would hit the target faster than their snowballs did???? Just a thought.
