  • Just to preface; I'm a new pipe smoker.

So, How so do you think that metal is volatile? Does it get into the lungs or something? I have a pipe that has a metal splint that looks like a tower rod with one side of it opened up for the smoke to pass through.

  • @Gijera No secret-all you have to do is smoke a pipe with a metal filter and it makes the tobacco have a tinney taste that's all. Also pipe tobacco is meant to smoke without inhaling and all the filters do is restrict the air flow which make it like using pressure nossle on a water hose and that causes some tongue bite. (mostly caused by heat and puffing to fast) Jason

  • Thanks Paul (significantguy) for the comments and I will show some more Savinelli Pipes of the Year in future. Jason

  • Really nice video Jason. I have the 2000 and 1997 pipes. I plan to add more - as you say they are good smokers. There's just so much consistency with Savinelli.

    Paul

  • Thanks Olle-Jason

    BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA USA

  • Great video.

    Take care

    Olle

  • CHAR-LET ME KNOW IF YOU GET THIS MESSAGE-I DID NOT DO A VIDEO ON IT BUT THOUGHT I HAD ANSWERED YOU-IF NOT SORRY. THE ONLY 'COAT' I KNOW OF IS EITHER THE STAIN'S USED (I HAVE A VIDEO ON THAT), A WAX FINISH AND ON 'DRUG STORE' PIPES THEY WOULD PUT SHELLAC OR VARNISH-DON'T DO IT! PIPE CAN'T BREATHE-THAT'S IT UNLESS I MISUNDERSTOOD YOUR QUESTION. JASON

  • See that HaJo you should do a video on Savinelli and Punto Oro Corallo's! Jason

  • @JJJUSCFAN8

sorry Jason, i have sell my Savinelli for year`s by ebay ;-)

Spend your money for Castello or Radice or Ascoti pipes ;-))

    All the best,

    HaJo

  • HaJo, You said "Savinelli-fine pipes in the past". Did you mean -in the PAST as in-not any longer? Jason

  • @JJJUSCFAN8 Hi Jason, yes indeed. Savinelli`s best are SAVINELLI PUNTO ORO CORALLO !

    Cheers,

    HaJo

  • THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS. JASON

  • I had a question awhile back, that you never answered. Do you know what type of clear coat they use on the wood on pipes? I have some pipes that got too hot and the clearcoat blistered. I want to redo them but don't know what I need. You might be the guy in the know?

  • Savinelli... fine pipes - in the past.

    Cheers,

    HaJo

  • JAMES, MACRO MODE? I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CAMERA'S AS YOU CAN SEE-THIS WAS AN UPGRADE TO HD FOR ME AND I AM THRILLED WITH THE DIFFERENCE FROM EARLIER VIDEO'S BUT I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN AS I AM GETTING A LITTLE BETTER ON CAMERA'S ETC. BUT I DO NOT THINK I HAVE ANY OTHER BUTTONS EXCEPT ZOOM IN AND OUT! LOL JASON

  • Jason the pipes look great! Also, does your camera have a button to turn on the macro mode? Image is a tad soft. The blast is spectacular on that '85.

    Cheers,

    James

  • OK D-thanks for the comments. Jason

  • Glad you liked. Jason

  • Thanks Gustavo for your comments, I will try to do Charatan very shortly and the others as I find time. Let me know if the one I do on Charatan is something like you want. There is just so much on a company like Charatan known and not well know or known to many people. Jason

  • Beautiful sandblast on those pipes. Thanks for sharing.

  • Beautiful pipes! I especially like the shape of the 1987.

    ~D

  • Hello Jason. One thing I would like to see on youtube, and you seem like the right guy to do it, would be some talk about a few of the most renowned english brands (Dunhill, Chataran, GBD, etc) and the different eras they've gone through.

    Cheers

    Gustavo
