when he appears on stage he behaves humble. .. no great words.. no big light effects .. no naked dancers.. just the music itselve.. so clear.. so deep... so true.. touching my soul...
awesomeness! I saw "secret Story" live in London at Hammersmith around 1993? I went with the girlfriend of the moment who had never heard of Pat Metheny, after ten minutes she left, clearly hating every minute of it, she went and sat in my car for the whole concert, meanwhile, a girl sat next to me who I had never met before was sobbing in joy at the music, a few tracks later we were chatting, and on the way out, we were snogging! oh, happy days !
On the morning of the day that I was due to move out of my girlfiend's house (having broken up), I got up and played this song, and turned up loud. It says it all. It is so beautiful. What a magnificent writer and arranger Pat is, the piece so suits the orchestra, and I love how the different parts of the orchestra speak, and open up like a flower blossoming.....just stunning., and as one has already said, a perfect way to end the cd . An all-time favourite!
I am so happy I found this song again. Secret Story was one of the best albums I ever heard. Each song was so diverse, melodic, and spoke volumes in their own way without the aid of lyrics.
Thank you very much for posting this great piece of creativity.
This would be great to a movie trailer! Some sci-fi love story :)

@00s00m So true. I heard this again and thought it should be my soon-to-be ex's and my parting song. We both love Pat dearly.
