@88Underwater mp3 should be around for preservation of music through the internet because say if disaster strikes and all of a certain record or CD or whatever physical media it is on is destroyed. It won't be produced or heard ever again but if mp3 copies were made and put on the internet then it will be able to live forever. Not authentically of course but it will still be around for people to hear.
Hahahaha! I run a station that plays vinyl. ONLY VINYL. And is transmitted by a ANALOG transmitter that can be heard for 1,900 miles. And most "digital high quality" stations can only be heard for about 300 miles. Which means I own the most powerful FM station in the state.
To me vinyl owns every other medium there is, musically, visually and physically. I own an MP3 player and still listen to a few CD's but there is nothing better than chilling out listening to a vinyl album.
dude vinyl is the best for home usage but i like to be able to take my music with me when i leave ipods are awesome but vinyl is just cooler if im just sitting at home id rather put a vinyl on than dock my ipod. still vinyl wins BIG time with the interesting things that comes with vinyl to the covers that you can see in a much larger scale.
lol watch how much the guy with glasses uses his hands when he talks. Fuckin aggressive aha. Dont think i could have a conversation with someone like that cause it would trip me out.
What?...the sales of CDs are down since the Itune age, but vinyl sales (new vinyl that is) was up more than 20% from just two years ago...and I have been happily helping that rise lol.
My most recent new vinyl:
Raidohead: Ok Computer and The Bend
Shiny Toy Guns, Brett Bearden, AC/DC's Black Ice, The Sword, Glasvegas, and not to mention the literally hundred plus reissues I have purchased. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the video was more about record stores taking a hit from mp3?
rock and rol vinyl is very much alive you just need to find a god record store i use mils in fremantle if they dont have it they order it for you and Vinyl is also very collectible and has more bass than mp3 or any dgital medium ANALOG IS THE BEST FOR MUSIC
incoherant documentary lol

if you dont educate the buyer why vinyl is good. how u expect people to buy?
thats why people resort to FREE DOWNLOAD because they think SoUND QUALITY is no difference.
1.VInyl is Best Sound Quality
2.CD is acceptable
3.MP3 is for a" Mediocre Person"treat
If you can't sell Music, pls step aside, resign, retire and let other capable POSITIVE person take over your job!

I have no need for digital music. I just buy vinyl records and copy them to blank cassettes to play on my walkman.
Digital sound sucks.
