Roy is no defense player of the year but he's solid, and mayo was schooling him with the crossover dribbles like MJ did to bird back then. The combination of his dribble and shooting is in a class above all the other rookies. I love rose too. can't really pick between the two.

well you don't need to pick between rose and mayo 2 totally different players in 2 totally different roles. rose is a freakishly athletic pg that sees the court well. oj is a fierce competitive 2 guard with an all around solid game including his jumper. both are different so i really can't compare em.

nah im glad with their pick. i been sayin since last year that they need some more dominant athletic big guys in the paint...and on draft night all they did was pick up tall athletic big men. hasheem is everything i wanted for em and more. he doesnt have offensive game yet, but neither did dwight howard when he came to nba. if u watched memphis games, the main reason they lost is because the opposing teams big man would kill them in the paint. scoring is fine, they needed defense.

yea, Mayo is a SG while Rose is a PG; while both are capable of playing PG/SG, they are entirely different players and comparing one to the other is tough. It's like comparing Ray Allen to Deron Williams......

if he were on a better team he would have been roty. but im glad hes on memphis, i can see them being a GREAT team in the future. i almost feel that they dont need their high draft pick this year lol cuz they already have too much young talent. they dont need any forwards really. i wana see them either pick up a strong center, or stephen curry. I do think OJ is the best rookie, and I do think he will have a better career than Rose. PG's who base their game on athleticism before skill(Francis, Baron, etc) seem to not have long productive careers, OJ has a complete offensive game hes not super athletic, but give me supreme skill and good athlete, over good skill and great athlete Mayo- long term better career.

Rose is very athletic and isn't as skilled as oj mayo but rose has a very very high basketball IQ. OJ mayo has a very high basketball IQ as well. players with high basketball IQ's usually have long term careers. francis and baron to me where very talented streetball players with a lot of athletic ability, there basketball IQ's were low.
