@LDS1310 like you said, they had some great thrash works, like kill em all and ride the lightning (I never liked MOP, I think it's so damn overrated :P most of the songs sound like stuff from earlier bands like Diamond Head). Even though I enjoyed and justice for all and metallica, I think those aren't pretty representative of the thrash metal genre. They kinda sold out for a more generally-accepted hard rock variant, if you see what i mean. I like bands that always stayed true :)

No they are not. Metallica is very mediocre when compared to many other Thrash acts. Kirk Hammet is nothing without a wah pedal, Trujillo's work in 'Tallica is just sub par, Hetfield sounds like a country singer, and Lars just plain sucks.
I don't mind saying Christian and Jereon own Hammet and Trujillo....but there's no way you can say anything mediocre about Cliff Burton, there is nothing mediocre about Orion and The Call of Ktulu.
What does him being helpless without a damn wah pedal gives you the idea that I don't know about music? He never leaves pentatonics in his solos, his foot is sewn to the wah pedal. What more do I need to know about him? It's not like he exhibits any exceptional feats of great music theory knowledge.
The majority of Kill 'Em All solos were done by Mustaine and Kirk just added a few bars in. The only good solo on RTL was Fade To Black. His solos on MOP were garbage. AJFA was probably the least genric in tearms of solos

Btw, I think those guys below v.v that thinks metallica is oh-so-badass probably think metallica created thrash and they don't know any other bands. Exodus, Overkill, Megadeth, Slayer, Sacred Reich, even new bands like Municipal Waste are better than Metallica.

@LDS1310 like you said, they had some great thrash works, like kill em all and ride the lightning (I never liked MOP, I think it's so damn overrated :P most of the songs sound like stuff from earlier bands like Diamond Head). Even though I enjoyed and justice for all and metallica, I think those aren't pretty representative of the thrash metal genre. They kinda sold out for a more generally-accepted hard rock variant, if you see what i mean. I like bands that always stayed true :)

haha it annoyed me how many people thought MOP was the only great metallica work
but I never remember them as a thrash band, I think it was because Dave Mustaine getting kicked out that kinda changed them, then Cliff Burton dying changed em again
but yeah me 2 :) my personal fav. is Between The Buried And Me
they started out sorta iffy but matured into an amazing band haha

allright ...I think I got to burn all my guitars because I just listened to this band the first time. It is mindblowing and extremly technical, there's a huge ability needed to play this, that I just can't reach. Maybe I should concentrate on songwriting in general than living the illusion of being able to play like this some day. But I'll always listen to great bands like necrophagist, arsis, wintersun even the first 2 COB records and now to Obscura as well. thank you for posting this

No they are not. Metallica is very mediocre when compared to many other Thrash acts. Kirk Hammet is nothing without a wah pedal, Trujillo's work in 'Tallica is just sub par, Hetfield sounds like a country singer, and Lars just plain sucks.

The majority of Kill 'Em All solos were done by Mustaine and Kirk just added a few bars in. The only good solo on RTL was Fade To Black. His solos on MOP were garbage. AJFA was probably the least genric in tearms of solos
