Commanding & brilliant to the end, "I Belong To London" find Judy Garland in magnificent form giving the impression this incredible performance is more Carnegie Hall time frame than months before her her untimely passing in London...voice full & in supremely soulful form with that rhythmic timing in tact & flawless, Judy gives a stunning performance that demands repeated listens...Bravo Judy, you are truly missed!!!
This recording is actually from Judy's final television appearance. She was a last minute substitute for Lena Horne. The program was "Sunday Night At The Palladium" and was broadcast in England in January 1969. She was playing "The Talk of the Town" nightclub which included the material she was singing on this program. There was an LP titled, "Judy.London.1969" which was released on Juno Records in the early 1970s. (The LP includes "For Once In My Life").
This recording should be the last word on the so-called decline of her voice. This is 1969 and she sounds strong, stronger and better than plenty of recordings elsewhere in the '60's. She obviously had some down-recordings but her voice here at the end of her life is beautiful and she obviously has all her communicative skills intact. God bless her. Talented from the beginning and to the end. She made the world a better place.
Judy sounding great and this is similiar to the Juno lp version but with a bigger orch and Judy in fine & strong voice. Always loved the concert from Talk Of The Town and this is really a rare treat that is thrilling to experience after all these years...Bravo Judy!
To Mandeley: Are there other audio clips that you can post from this 69 appearance. I know we all enjoy hearing them and seeing the beautiful montages of Judy. Wonderful Job. I put it as one of my favorites. Thank you Darling!!!
bradley2007 I totally agree with you. I love this and feel it is worth listening to over and over!

She sounds much stronger here than just a month earlier on the Tonight Show. Oh why can't she still be with us?!?
