  • brill. i play this with a band called ' Roy Potts and the Five and a Penny' Jazz band. its just ace.

  • you gotta love this stuff,

  • who is the one person who disliked this TROLL

  • Wonderful happy music!!! Thanks.

  • musicians today are not even close to having the musical ability that these great artists had back in those days

  • love it.....thats real music

  • iubesc muzica asta :) superb.

  • 1 Dislike. Really. Well, he/she must be a deaf lizard alien from the planet Chump, daddy-o...

  • why oh why can we not get this on the radio it is great unreal

  • I've tried to figure out for years why I like the Dukes better than any other Dixieland jazz band I've heard and the only thing I can come up with is their ability to improvise in an intelligent way and they play with great power....I'll ALWAYS be Dukes fan. The orginal band with the Assuntos. BRAVO !!! And yes, it's Freddie on trombone.

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 Many years ago a friend who is a Dixieland fanatic pointed out to me that the drummer(s) did not just ride the kick or the snare on every beat like so many of the bands did. They and the whole band played with finesse and musicianship using dynamics and humor. They didn't just jump on the bandstand and wing it, they had arrangements, that's not saying they didn't improvise. They knew how to put on a show. Love 'em.

  • @nbcjims

Why do I think that's reversed? I guess i'm too old!

  • The Dukes of Dixieland, best there ever was. The original Dukes with the Assuntos, not poseurs...

  • This track is from the Dukes at Carnegie Hall album. I guess it also made the "Best of" record but I don't have that one. I have listened to this track thousands of times - it's the best they ever did.

  • In Memory of Betty Owens Assunto

    myspace

  • @ZeroDD121

    A real Duchess!!

  • I love all the Dukes' numbers, but I think that this is one of their best. I get excited particularly with the use of the cow bell in this number. Such a small thing, but adds a lot to the number I think.

  • Trombone is, "young Frank." Brother Freddie was trumpet and Papa Jac played banjo and trombone. Both dad and Frank have a very interesting dixie tailgate style. For those of us who can't keep up with Jack Teagarden - who can? - he and Turk Murphy deserve attention. Good stuff!

  • nice song:D

  • The Dukes of Dixieland were among my early favorites...circa 1964--!!!WONDERFUL!!! to hear them again!!!

  • nie no spoko nuta;p

  • 4:26!

    yeah!

  • Gracias por esta música! Una banda fantástica.

    Gracias!
