  • Thanks for replying to my question.

I have one more for you,

what size is your primary burner and the secondary burners?

    Thanks again.

    C.A.G.

  • Hi, the primary burner is just a standard size camp oven pot and lid, The secondary burner is a cylinder liner from a Cummins engine with an outside diameter of about 150mm. Thanks

  • @uopminvest Thank you.

  • Very nice job. How do you pump your oil to your burner?

    C.A.G.

  • Hi, the oil is pumped from the main storage tank into a header tank using a car power steering pump which is run by a small electric motor and set on a timer. From there the oil is gravity fed from the header tank to the burner in the house. Thanks

  • What diameter holes / spacing are in the cylinder liner? Thanks!

  • Hi, I have the heater packed away at the moment as I have moved house and not currently using it. From memory, the holes are spaced approximately 10mm apart and there's about 520 of them. The hole size is 1.95mm. Thanks for you interest.

  • Hi,Like your oil burner very much, what temperture does it get to on 600ml per hour burn rate ?

  • I really love this burner.. out of all the oil burners I've seen on youtube this one really is nice! I have a question.. what holds the two drums together? are they air tight? also the cylinder liner.. I'm not sure if I understand what that is.. can you explain? thank you!

  • The pot simply sits on a large spring loaded hinge arrangement that the bottom handle is attached to. To remove the pot, you simply push down the handle, as it shows in the video, and lift the pot out for cleaning. The pot is held up in place by the spring and kept located in the correct position by the lip on the lid and the cradle on the hinge.

  • So I have a couple drums and I am working on a design for stand . A quick question to you, or Skip, related to Skip's comment. Both of your designs primary? burners (the pans) seem to almost "snap" into their final position. How is this achieved with the lip around the lid?

  • That's a good draft you have there Simon, no wonder it works well.

I think that I might have to reduce the height of the lip on my lid so that I can also slide my pan forward giving me access to break up the coke. At present it is 1cm high, and there is no practical reason why it cannot be reduced to a couple of mm around the front half.

First thing tomorrow, . . .. out with the angle grinder :-)

  • @ozzirt

Hi, is the top brake drum welded to the bottom one? What is the pan made from , where can iget one. Mike

  • @washers58 No, they slide together if you select the ones with the right edges. The pan is a cast iron "Camp oven"
