I can actually imagine this at the end of a powerful, beautiful movie and as the credits roll you feel as though you're always with that person or always in that place.
i just DON'T understand; this is ONE of the absolutely best groups in the world yet they remain relativlely obscure.... on the other hand, maybe thats good that are NOT out in the front end of the b.s. of the "music business"... i pretend that they dont' want to be the "huge stars" and that way they can stay as good as they are, and do what they want, instead of being a sales item for the big gods...
I love the birthday massacre - they're so captivating and haunting and everything about them is beautiful - the lyrics are intense. They're my favourite band, hands down.
I would barely consider these guys "industrial" - I tend to reserve that title for groups like Throbbing Gristle or Einsturzende Neubauten. I usually describe these guys as a sort of cross between Depeche Mode, NIN, The Cure, and maybe the Cocteau Twins (this song in particular). The only "industrial" element I really hear in much of their music is their use of distorted vocal effects and heavy drum machine beats. Their later attempts at sounding "heavy" are awful, IMHO.
@timcomrie16 sounding heavy? none of their songs sound very heavy to me, just a little rocky. I'm one who listens to some hard music and to me even their heaviest doesn't sound like they are trying to be heavy.

@atomistiqu Actually, they have not broken up. Formed in 1999, and a new album 'Pins and Needles' was released in 2010. A new EP is in the making, to be released in the summer of 2011.
@atomistiqu She's in a new band now, they're called Scarling in case you didn't know. They're pretty good, but I kinda prefer JOJ (that's just me though). She was a lot cooler back then.
@aXcupcake I knew them, thanks for suggesting though. I prefer JOJ (than Scarling), as well. if you like a bit of indusrial, then look for GenitorturerS especially their song Sin City for the intro. Nice day!
@atomistiqu Pretty big industrial fan here, actually. Genitorturers are good, I found out about them when I went to see Combichrist and Gen was the guest vocals for 'Kickstart the Fight.' It was pretty awesome
The Birthday Massacre is my favoriet band i love the lead singers voice. Every song on the pinns and needles albm i relate too. Just bought the cd 3 weeks ago and i can't stop listening to it.
Oh and for the people trying to compare this to Plainsong, get over it!! The Cure is on a whole different level and yes Plainsong is another PERFEKT song but this does not sound like a rip off to me at all and I LOVE Chibi like I LOVE Rob!! They are totally different bands and they both have their nitch.... just love the music and stop trying to find issues with great tunes!!!!
I really love this crank and this band but I have a gripe (a small one) but at the beginning it seems that the base hits a little distorted before it evens out. Still a perfect song or at least as close as I have heard!! TBM 4EVA!! :D
dude if you have read the hunger games and think of peeta's point of view you would be bawling your eyes out listening to this song. just like i am now
I love this song so much. One of my favorites from them. It is so powerful and means so much to me. So many memories associated with this song..... I will always love the birthday massacre.
@supervixen404 I couldn't agree with you more. It's one of the few songs that gives me a huge Deja Vu trip.. probably after facing my first major hardship. It's amazing how a simple tune can bring you back to a singular time and place.. vivid. I made a drastic change afterwards, this song was merely the intermission soundtrack. Some memories are never forgotten.
I wish there was an absolutely love button instead of just like. Cause this is one of my favorite songs by them. It reminds me of me and my fiance. I believe i just found our wedding song!!!
What is she saying in the start, rigth before "Time will erase them"? I'm adding the lyrics to my iPod, and those I found on the internet says that she sings "Face them" but I don't think it sounds right
Funny, I just had to hear this song because once again I had a dark season "Twin Peaks" feeling. Seems that I'm not alone :)
