  • How come the YM2612 had such good drums? Were they sampled rather than FM? If they were synthesized live, were there drum presets that composers could use? or did they program the drum synths as they went along?

  • These are the best sounding drums of any Sega Genesis game.

  • Man, this music kicks SO MUCH ASS.

  • I nostalgia'd all over my keyboard...

But I do love that melancholy feel the song has.

  • Fantastic song ^^

  • Multiple!.... Laser!!!! :D shoot em all!

  • it sounds so heroic, and sad

    i loved this game

  • This sort of thing proves that the YM2612 is just as good with chiptunes as the YM2151s and YM2203s in the slightly older Sega System 16.

  • I bet you can't cover this in FamiTracker with VRC6! :D #trollface

  • My grandmother bought this for me for my 13th birthday. She also bought me Hyper Zone one my 10th birthday. Grandma sure did know how to pick em :-)..

  • @CJALSTON31 Grandmothers always pick the best games! thanks my grandmother i played games like mortal kombat, comix zone, mega turrican, shinobi, earthworm jim in my childhood... :D i wish she could be by me side now.

  • This version of the tune thrashes the SNES version. Wow, what a difference!

  • I can't believe how many phases this song goes into.. is this actually how it plays in the actual game or is this an extended version?

  • @xxcrysad3000xx this is how it plays in the game itself.

  • @ECMIM Just beat it last week, pretty difficult but extremely fun, and the other tracks are lovely too. Sure do miss you Gamefan guys, hope you're all well.

  • Damn this one really does trump the snes one

  • Masterpiece of game music.

  • what a great rendition of the tune... it's a shame it misses the strings from the amiga though, i feel that they are what really makes this track.

  • i wish they made a remake...it would be badass

  • @EvoDragon22 if your lookin for a remake of the turrican game you can look for the PC game Hurrican maded by the german Poke53280 it's pretty cool ( and ULTRA HARD [just like the original] i have some OST's of the game on my channel if you want).

but a remake of this song? WHY?!? this is already PERFECT!... but you should look for them if you want, i've seen some remakes of this song but forgot where they are...

  • @EvoDragon22

But remade how? Keep it classic, like the remade Contra? Or remake it like Metroid Prime?

  • @Yujifanik for xbox 360 or ps3 keep it classic,just better graphics

  • @EvoDragon22

Hell yeah! It shouldn't try to pretend to be anything other than what it is! If the designers wanna put a story in don't tell it through cutscenes like the Metal Gear is notorious for! & don't just tack it on like Duke Nukem Forever!

They should take a hint from the Lord of The Rings movies (stick w/ me here!) Let the backstory of the game be told at the beginning like it does in the original, or let the levels & the graphics give the player a subtle hint of the story!

  • the genesis version is mega awesome

  • So how did they get this out of the Genesis again?

  • 1 person isn't fit to own the game.

  • I prefer SNES version, but I agree that the drums in this one are just awesome, better than the SNES version. But, overall, SPC700 for life.

  • Every version of this song kicks ass.

    Chris Huelsbeck is the man.

    SNES and Genesis FTW

  • thats a good thing fyi

  • my ears, i cant feel them

  • One of my favorite video game tracks ever, alongside Filmore from ActRaiser and Dracula's Castle from Symphony of the Night.

  • Literally the most underrated soundtrack on the Mega Drive. Fact!

  • 1-UP!!!!

  • My fav version :)

  • I think Turrican 2 (special the Amiga version) is much better. Special the sound makes me crazy! Mega Turrican (Turrican III on Amiga) is too easy.

  • Best version by far.

  • @Kousaburo hmm, far as the beat foundation is concern this version hands down, far as overall cleaness of the synth, cymbal sounds, snes wins always but that does not make it bettern however.

hmm, I probably prefer the genesis version cause of the beat foundation.

They both still kicks ass over todays good for nothing rotten games.

  • @SparklesofUnity idk, I prefer this one to Super Turrican 2 on the SNES, mostly because the one on that one just sounds... generic

seriously, I don't know how many times I've beaten it, and I don't remember a single song from that game

  • @Minority119 Super Turrican II music is fine, 1 is much much better.

I was expecting to be alot better then the first one.

oh yes, first one beats it hands down, music wise.

  • Music is what made this game, without the music, forget it.

  • Bows down to:

    Chris Huels'beck
