@Pimpification10Croat He wasn't trying Kurt is the one who wanted him to be part of Nirvana. Kurt admired that little Mexican as you call him and he'd also probably hate your guts.
@MultiCrash98 I agree. I think it is their best overall album. Most of those songs were written during Kurt's years living in Olympia. At that time he was immersed in the local arts scene and was surrounded by alot of really gifted but off beat artists who were a big influence on his writing at the time. I personally love this direction to his music. It is the most diverse, original, and interesting period of Nirvana's music in my opinion. This was sober Kurt pre- Courtney
Kurt made up the song Class of '86 (aka Buffy's Pregnant) because I was Class of '86 and we met and worked with INXS on songs. Buffy is Tim Farriss of INXS high school sweetheart Bethany Anne ( Buffy) Reefman.
Nirvanas' lesser known songs are what made them great. The 'Outcesticide' series is one of the most amazing nearly-unhead compilations from a popular band in history. D7, Immodium, Return of the Rat, Pay to Play (Yes, it's Stay Away with different lyrics, but also a much better performance than the studio version of SA), Here She Comes Now, Junkyard, Sappy/Verse-Chorus-Verse.. The amazing songs keep coming. Their B-sides and bootlegs blow away anything they did in the studio.
@skabbonica some of those are not nirvana originals though, not sure how many of them, here she comes now isnt theirs, return of the rat? is that theirs..
@willzer808 It's true, they're not all originals, but take a song like "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" - a dozen blues artists had performed it before Kurt ever heard it, and as is tradition with blues songs, each one of those covers is judged solely on their own merit. Choosing a song made famous by Leadbelly in this case likely introduced thousands of listeners to Delta blues, and at the same time, Nirvana made it sound like their own, rather than an imitation.
People like to knock Kurt these days for not being a virtuoso guitarist and having simple song structure, while completely ignoring the soul that he brought to even the simplest songs, and his enormously wide taste in music, which seeped into all his songs; originals and covers. (Beeswax has always been a personal favorite of mine - the anger and frustration conveyed by those seemingly surreal lyrics is impossible to describe)
@skabbonica i'd never knock him for that. I'm aware of his merits, infact year to year more merits seems to reveal themselves. He was outstanding, the fact that he wasn't a fluent lead guitarist is just one thing, its who he was, and Nirvana's music if fine the way it is. If someone put some kind of generic flashy guitar solos over it it would just sound awful. His style was his style, and anyone who knocks it can knock till their knuckles fall off. His lyrics are almost unmatchable
@willzer808 Sorry the second half of the comment was more directed at all the seemingly-trendy Nirvana hate I see getting spouted on the net, and that seems to be their biggest complaint.. Also, they seem to take great pleasure in pointing out that he killed himself, generally in the most graphic way possible, like this makes them historians on the issue.
The first half of the comment (re: covers) was more of a response to what we were talking about. I can tell you're a fan ;)
@skabbonica D7 and return of the rat are songs originally done by the Wipers if you haven't heard of them I suggest you check them out they were Nirvana's biggest influence Kurt Cobain said that in an interview in Portland were the Wipers were from
Thats what I've been wondering. They got all this amazing shit and they did Bleach. Don't get me wrong bleach got some badass songs but this shit blows me away.
@velveteena1 he's the guy who played drums on this track and also provided several other (great) nirvana drum tracks eg. mexican seafood. Best known for being drummer in the Melvins. One of the best drummers eva IMO :)

@planeshaperman "What's the meaning of a crown it's a frown if anything"... it means every one thinks being king, royalty or famous ect(crown) is great when really its a frown(depressing) thats how i see it anyways and as for the other one i have no idea
@Hankd7812 stupid comparison my ass, if you knew anything about music, you would know that nirvana is not technical, it doesn't sound good, and they never changed anything about music, bands that changed music would be sabbath, zeppelin, not some fucking 90's wanna be punk band. grunge isn't a genre it's just bad punk music.... wow kurt cobain plays a bunch of fucking power chords and some fucking non-melodic solos and doesn't even match it with good lyrics and he's a "god" yeah fucking right.
@anarchyxxxguitar so your saying to me grunge isn't a genre it "bad punk music". OMG have you ever been so neive? kurt cobain produced "just fucking awesome" lyrics. he had a voice everyone wanted. his melodys were kick ass! and on come as you are smells like teen spirit, the guiar solos mach up with the lyric he was saying. he used distortion pedels to portray a loud quiet dynamic to his music also. have you looked up nirvana before?

incesticide is such an underated album... i like it that way tho!!! the wannabes who listen to smlts over and over, will never know the value of this album!!
Cobain is not often looked upon as a 'great' solo guitar player often b.c technical ability is usually the means through which we 'must' judge ability. However, this song features one of the best guitar solos ever, imo. So grainy and yet eloquent in tone and the way he gets the guitar to sing and bend to creative whim ... orgasm. There were moments when Cobain turned it up a notch and it's like the gods of rock and jazz and classical were riding on his back guiding him along.
@TheRyanReilly Aero Zeppelin was one of those moments, imo, and I'd suspect it is b.c it dealt with an issue Cobain held close to heart that he was able to reach down for something extra and make magic. The piece clearly displays Cobain's sense of anger with societal conformity. That is, a society, morally and emotionally bankrupt, unsure of what it was anymore and unable to think for itself.. Cobain is still right on.
there not bad just because they're not technical his voice is whiny it sounds like shit and on top of that none of it is complicated or well put together
I had this song stucked on my brain, but i couldnt remember the name of it - i must have clicked on 30 nirvana songs in hope of finding it - and then last i was thinking: could it be aero zeppelin! YES YES YES! FOUND THE SONG :)
@Markenus I have the same thing, I have this melody stuck in my head and I think it's Nirvana but I have no idea and I don't know if I'll find it because I'm forgetting the melody. But it's still ITCHING ME! -_-
@michaelsuthasteez its not underrated, it sucks. It's what happens when a drummer like Kurt Cobain (yes, kurt cobain was a drummer before playing guitar) tries guitar. And no Kurt Cobain wasn't a guitar god, his music was cool because it was "Verse-Choruse-Verse'd" and riff-based. And yeah I'm a nirvana fan
@tjmoney1331 i have a really good idea! how about we just listen to the music and let idiots like them be idiots and how about we dont stoop to they're level!
@tjmoney1331 you clearly have listened to nothing but shit your whole life so i'm not gonna waste my time on you... you're already too badly corrupted
@anarchyxxxguitar so your saying that more complex and technical music is the best if that were true dream theater and rush would be the best bands in the world and the beatles, the stones, the clash, velvet underground and more bands that arent very technical are very bad?? obviously not, creativity comes before complexity
@slamacowLOLWUT i am in a band and check out some of the riffs i posted it's all original shit... kurt didn't do shit for the music industry except make it worse just like all the no talent rappers that think their something... he knew he wasn't talented which is why he fucking killed himself, probably the most useful thing he ever did was paint the walls with his brain. why do you people keep calling me troll? are you all computer geeks or what?
slamacowLOLWUT i am in a band and check out some of the riffs i posted it's all original shit... kurt didn't do shit for the music industry except make it worse just like all the no talent rappers that think their something... he knew he wasn't talented which is why he fucking killed himself, probably the most useful thing he ever did was paint the walls with his brain. why do you people keep calling me troll? are you all computer geeks or what?
since we can actually perceive them to be physically present and witness their guts & honesty rather than a creation of ignorance that is aware of its flaws, yet continues to defend itself as if any opposable opinion is flawed in argument for being contrary to the teachings of the institute that made them up in the first place.
I love the lyrics. "you could shit upon the stage, they'll be fans... they'll be fans." "All the kids will eat it up if it's packaged properly" Few have said it better.
It's all about the sound they made, regardless of the technical skill. And there's no doubt that Nirvana's sound revolutionized music forever and any artist interested in the rock scene (skilled or not) would have been influenced experientially by Nirvana. Also, i'd rather listen to a good bongo player any day over some shit sounding, dick-head rock group that are good instrumentalists.
@thommarx metal is considered the rock scene and i have no influence from him in any way.... grow the fuck up.... if their good instrumentalists then the music should be good, because they'll have experience with other bandmates... you don't know shit about music except what you've heard from others. a bunch of naive faggots like you created rap because they think it sounds good but it doesn't
@anarchyxxxguitar its just the way music evolved man. it was people who werent good at singing in gigh notes and were better at ryhming, not saying i like rap but i don t really care.
@Nirvanaguy100 nope not at all... because nirvana cant sing worth a fuck and it's been proven that screaming takes more talent and is way more complicated than singing is... so get your facts right you fucking retard... why don't you change your name while you're at it faggot
@anarchyxxxguitar Um, can we not? Thanks. It's simple as this; nobody likes trolls. And also, what are you doing wasting your time watching a Nirvana video when "they can't sing worth a fuck"? Personally, I think Kurt and everyone in that band was/is extremely talented. I'd like to see you play something better. I'd like that very much. Try starting your own band making as big an impact on the world as they did :P
Kurt was a very good guitar player. For example,if you go to a music store and watch all these Paul Gilbert and Vai wannabees shred,It looks great for a minute at best,then...yawn. Kurts guitar playing in my opinion was dynamic and had me yearning for more.Vey exciting to hear. RIP Kurt

All the kid's will eat it up!!. If its packaged properly!.. and then goes on an insanely underrated guitar solo starting at 3:15.
True bliss to the ears.
michaelsuthasteez 11 months ago 22
@michaelsuthasteez its not underrated, it sucks. It's what happens when a drummer like Kurt Cobain (yes, kurt cobain was a drummer before playing guitar) tries guitar. And no Kurt Cobain wasn't a guitar god, his music was cool because it was "Verse-Choruse-Verse'd" and riff-based. And yeah I'm a nirvana fan

ya well everyone's entitled to their own opinions. That guitar solo is still amazing regardless of what you say.

@tjmoney1331 Couldn't have said it better myself. Most progressive metal bands sound like self indulgent diahrrea.

@tjmoney1331 you clearly have listened to nothing but shit your whole life so i'm not gonna waste my time on you... you're already too badly corrupted
anarchyxxxguitar 1 year ago

Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Nirvana are God. and Pink Floyd :)

@aerozeppelin35
They're better than god.
since we can actually perceive them to be physically present and witness their guts & honesty rather than a creation of ignorance that is aware of its flaws, yet continues to defend itself as if any opposable opinion is flawed in argument for being contrary to the teachings of the institute that made them up in the first place.

Also, i'd rather listen to a good bongo player any day over some shit sounding, dick-head rock group that are good instrumentalists.
thommarx 1 year ago
@thommarx metal is considered the rock scene and i have no influence from him in any way.... grow the fuck up.... if their good instrumentalists then the music should be good, because they'll have experience with other bandmates... you don't know shit about music except what you've heard from others. a bunch of naive faggots like you created rap because they think it sounds good but it doesn't
anarchyxxxguitar 1 year ago
@anarchyxxxguitar its just the way music evolved man. it was people who werent good at singing in gigh notes and were better at ryhming, not saying i like rap but i don t really care.

@Nirvanaguy100 nope not at all... because nirvana cant sing worth a fuck and it's been proven that screaming takes more talent and is way more complicated than singing is... so get your facts right you fucking retard... why don't you change your name while you're at it faggot
anarchyxxxguitar 1 year ago

RIP Kurt
