VW and Audi construct cars with very good acceleration to 100 KM/h (even the 1.9 TDI is nice) but their top speed is limited as hell. Once they pass around 100 KM/h they get slower and slower. Even my old 1.6 Rover gets faster to 200 KM/h as a new Golf 1.4 TSI

And go with the porsche turbo s its comfortable, why the hell would i drive a porsche or a r8 in snow? Porsches turbo kicks in and it wins in sound. Easy to park, its not a truck. Turbo s is the real winner here ;) still love the r8 though <3

As far as driving in snow, did you forget that the porche is rear/mid engine car. All the weight is on the rear tires. Should have no problem in snow. Atleast as far as rear wheel traction is concerned. However front wheel traction may be a problem.

But remember that these cars are supercars - imagine if it one day lay 30 cm of snow in your driveway - the porsche would never get out! But the Audi could just plow straight :) ! My driveway is in a hill, getting up that hill at winter with RWD can sometimes be hard as hell nomatter how much skill ....

Audi R8 geared for acceleration and being untouched it wont match the GT3 top end. GT3 is also lighter and you can find one under $100k with low miles easily. It also gets 10mpg more than the Audi. The Audi will get you looks, but if you want performance and some track time the GT3 is the better buy.

yeah the porsche won but it is uncomfortable as hell, not as good looking as the r8, has lower interior quality and style, no 4-wheel drive which means it can't be used on snow, and not as good sounding :) The r8 is sensationally good on the road, and very easy to park considering its a supercar! The porsche might have won on the race-track but because thats the only place it really works, then the r8 is the real winner here ;) still love the porsche though <3

Dad of a friend owns one, he uses it for daily driving
