This just isn't nearly as interesting as Stevie's version--it's missing those amazing polyrhythms (between the back-up singers and drums, for example), and a lot of the weird atmosphere that his instrumentation brings.

With all due respect, it sounds like everything exciting and bizarre about the song was watered-down into acceptable music to buy your groceries to.

I think Eliane is a genius and must say that I also agree that this is the best version of this song ever recorded. I read that Eliane plays all the parts , everything,including all of keyboards (bass, drums ... everything ) , and of course, the amazing piano and vocals. It's all her. ...Stevie must be so thrilled to hear her interpretations of his songs by Eliane, including her new recording of My Cherie Amour. She is one of the greatest artist of all times.

What makes Eliane sound so wonderful on this tune is the fact that the tune in and of itself is a masterpiece!! That Stevie created! That "is" Stevie!

Stevie "is" a master musician!

When he writes a composition it's more than just a song, it is in fact a part of who he is.

The more I listen to this the more beautiful it becomes.She seems to bring out the song's inherent Brazilian influence and it simply floats along ,with much sophistication and gorgeous playing/sultry singing by her.
