You must be joking. Tony Snow is not racist. Using a certain term, even the N-word, doesn't make someone racist. You have to actually hate people based on their race. The context of this dialogue has nothing to do with race, and that's what matters. The term "tar baby" also means a situation that will be difficult to remove yourself from if you get involved, and that's how Tony meant it. (P.S. Tony's in my prayers today.)
