Yeah, Marr is remarkable- he's playing as if he has the peace and space most bands have- that is, the band is on the stage, the fans below.

This is a wild, strange scene. Morrissey seems to be generally okay with things. The Smith fans are not a violent lot, but most idols- and Morrissey was one- are not keen on having a few dozen fans pressing against them.

Was this kind of scene common at early Smith shows?
