JPEG, If the truck was well taken care of and the oil and radiator was flushed when it was supposed to have been, Well then you can get up to 180,000 out of them trucks. But if it's been drove hard then maybe a year at best depending on travel miles. A 4.7 is a border line V6 engine and its actually a 289ci Mercedes engine. So just drive it well and take good maintenance on the truck!

I'm gettings a 2001 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 in it. Has 120000 miles on it. Could someone tell me how many more miles I could put on it and how reliable are their engines?

I have an 04 jeep 3.7 a 06 1500 3.7(6speed GETRAG) and a 05 durango 4.7

the magnum engines are pretty damn good for what they are and a 47 in a dakota wouldnt be bad at all but stay up on maintainence and use royal purple oil.

i have an 06 with a super 40 on it and i like it and its a single it didnt cost that much only 175 where i live and dual tip exhaust cost 450

I have a 4.7 and it has a lot of potential. I needs a little loving but can pull some power especially with 3.92s in the rear end.

now go get yourself a kn fipk kit part#57-1529 good for 02 to 07 4.7l just put one on my 03 it works you wont be sorry cost me $380 up here in Canada. the included dyno sheet reads 8.63 hp gain and the neighbor and i put it on in an hour it will compliment your flows for me im getting magnaflow catback pt#15740 they claim 12 more hp dont dodge it RAM IT

hey man how did u run ur pipes. i put a super 44 series on my 4.7 and cut put a turn down right off the flowmaster and is sounds goo idoling around and when ur easing around but when u get into it. it makes a rasping sound

hazzard boy flowmasters lost their patent there are like hundreds of companies that make the same mufflers i bought a knock off brand muffler for 100 bucks and it sounds better than most of the expensive ones.. just thought id throw that out there

it's true that they lost the patent and there are lots of knock offs. they don't sound exactly alike though. i know because i had the misfortune of a muffler shop trying to rip me off with one a while back. they installed an inco muffler instead of a flowmaster. they look exactly alike. i went back all pissed off and made them install the flowmaster 40 i payed for. the flowmaster sounded deeper in comparison and had a cleaner sound. I have since switched to true dual super 40's. vid on channel.
