I'm from the north of mexico and i grew up playing football rather than soccer lol because all my friends played football, when i moved to U.S. i continued playing in college and I loved it :)
I don't think we could even put a USA team together. there's too many good players. we'd have 100 guys listed at each position between nfl and college players. we could field teams made up of players from the top high schools in the nation and absolutely demolish people. we destroy these teams.
Football is a completely different ball of wax than basketball, anyway. It is a combination of brute strength, size, speed and technique, not to mention intense strategy. The only way the rest of the world would ever catch up is if they had their own high quality league and our coaches.

Plus I don't think NFL GM's and Owners want their players or the players themselves want to risk getting injure in an international competition. Especially when the Olympics falls around NFL training and preseason.
