  • Of course they use Linux. I heard the US Army switched to it recently. It looks like science is always one step ahead.

  • Y U NO MAKE VIDEO ON BREAKING LIGHT SPEED!?!

  • gosh I hope CERN scientist don't read these comment on YouTube. their IQ's would probably drop.

  • @Devoradoptio Being wrong can still give you valuable information

Check out Information Theory, knowing that your wrong or identifying what you dont know are hugely valuable when attempting to understand something very complex.

Black Holes for instance were thought to be sceince fiction at first, like white holes, entirely possible in equations but in reality? no one had any proof except that the math showed its possible

  • LEAVE OKABE ALONE

  • @eyeofexistence wow you don't even know what anti matter is. amazing.

  • @eyeofexistence yes it has, decades ago.

  • I envy and appreciate the years of study that supports AMS, CERN, Fermilab, and all of our marvelous worldwide scientific facilities. I encourage young people to discover and pursue careers in science research from physics to marine biology and everything in between. Science is so important to our future. I look forward to hearing about AMS results over the years. From this citizen of earth, thank you to all the scientists working their way to new vistas of knowledge.

  • Great Vid. Especially the music ;-).

  • So many words and no data!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Devoradoptio

aparently you didn't listen to those many words

before data can be interpreted correctly the detectors must be calibrated propperly. that's what they're doing.

  • @RufftaMan Apparently you didn't note how much they (modern “scientists”) talk and spend money!!! Taking into account all their illusions such as Higgs’ boson/field, mass of antimatter, WIMPs, gravity=mass and many other things, the most of their interpretations are incorrect!

  • @Devoradoptio and you evidence is? show us your data that would support the claim that their interpretations are incorrect.

    or are you just talking?

  • @eyeofexistenceFurther some particles are their own anti particle, the so call Majorana particles such as photons, and neutral PI mesons.Neutrinos are thought to be Dirac, but experiments trying to find out.And one last note, since we don't know how gravity acts on the sub atomic scale we can't say if anti-matter acts the same way with gravity, we think it does but until recently(like this year) we have been able to produce enough to make an experiment. And a fun fact to bananas produce positrons

  • @eyeofexistence I know you are probably a troll but the physicist in me just wont let that stand. It's called anti matter since it exactly like except with respect to charge which is opposite(thus the anti, that and the annihilate when they interact with matter), so you have electrons which have anti electron or positrons, protons and anti protons, ect. Most of the standard model particles are Dirac particles meaning they have distinct anti particles predicted by the Dirac equations

  • Um.. so wtf is the AMS designed to detect? What's the experiment, what are they studying. I mean I know this is a "scientists patting each other on the back" period, but they could've explained what the science we're expecting/hoping to see come out of this.

  • @eyeofexistence

Ok you're probably just trolling. I don't care what you want to call it: call it donkey shit if you want, when we say antimatter we are talking about something material which obeys the same laws as matter, and it has been proven to exist.

Now goodbye, and stop taking every word at face value. What the word is referring to is more important.

  • The AMS has great potential. Thank you for the video.

On a less light note, everyone, stop freaking out about a mistake.

  • @eyeofexistence

No, antimatter is a material thing. It has the opposite electric charge of matter, and another slight difference that I won't mention here.

  • Chicks with brains are hot!

  • 1:58...hey baby. want to take my high energy pipe and collide our particles together?

  • @Ashtree81 All "chicks" have brains, you sound like a caveman.

  • @eyeofexistence Maybe you shouldn't call other people morons when you're making a fool out of yourself in the exact same sentence.

  • @eyeofexistence Your a classic case of a moron, calling other people a moron. Anti matter does exist, and is there. If it wasn't there it wouldn't have a mass. It has exactly the same mass as normal matter but with an opposite charge. Why there is a lot more matter then anti matter is a big unanswered scientific question

  • @eyeofexistence i think it's a bit more complicated than that though. free space isn't empty. and AMS isn't all about antimatter but also rare types of quarks, dark matter and even cosmic radiation. AMS was thought up in the mid 90s i think, and to scientists it's still such a good idea that they spend millions on it

  • @eyeofexistence That's a joke, right?

  • go Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer

  • reckon anyone at cern watches stiens gate?

  • Can't wait to hear about new discovery's! Go AMS!

  • Amazing.

  • CERN. IN. SPAAAAACE!
