  • 1 person can't wait until the semester is over!

  • Thumbs up if you knew about apoptosis because of aptx4869

  • Thumbs up if you poked the cells and it popped :D

  • Great video, you may be interested in pSIVA a new method for apoptosis detection in both microscopy and flow. Just Google it

  • Does anyone know what cell line this is?

  • There's a rather good vid on the caspases on

    (h t t p : / /)stke(dot)sciencemag(dot)org/content/vol2007/issue380/images/data/tr1/DC1/Apoptosis_WEHI(dot)mov

    Just replace '(dot)' with '.'

It's simplistic, but you get the general idea.

  • this is all too cool! i mean not to get religiously drone here, but do those cells go to cell heaven? bwahahahaha jk. My only question would be how long does this entire episode last? from the moment the First signal of the release of cytochrome C to the very end. Another odd and yet wonderful similarity i noticed was that how odd that the cells sort of collapse in the same beauty a giant star out in the universe collapses.

  • Still confused about caspases....

  • cytochrome c isn't suddenly released, the mitochondrial membrane is disrupted by truncated BID... and these must all start from a death signal.

  • cool : )

  • @maringajohn

    so,tell me

is there any way or research to actually regenerate a cell after the apoptosis?

  • great vid

  • what about caspase signalling cascade before cytochrome c release ?

  • It looks kinda gross. I have to do a report on Apoptosis.

  • very cool!

  • I'm fascinated!
