fail. john uses a strat and there is no way that richie copies john. john i've found rarely ever branches out from pentatonics and overuses his wah. richie knows everything technically but what sets him away from many other virtuosos is the fact that he can phrase well even at lightning speeds.

Personally, I think Phil Soussan is a great bass player, and this line-up with him and Pat Torpey was great (probably my personal favourite), 'cause they also did all the vocals together. Billy Sheehan is not my cup of tea, especially for Richie's music. Johnny Griparic is cool, but I don't like his tone. J.D. was cool...
