Let this game be over. Don't do any VIII-2 or even any of the other games, we saw how X-2 worked out. Stick to the basics, but keep it fresh at the same time. XIII, while disappointing, was not a bad game. We simply had hoped for a revival to the Final Fantasy we knew and loved. The linear aspects of it tore at our hearts, as Final Fantasy is a very nonlinear adventure. The combat wasn't bad, but controlling one character was iffy. I don't have much hope for XIII-2, but Versus...maybe.

i dont really think they could do a final fantasy 8-2 the endind here seemed to tie it up nicely and plus final fantasy 8 was done by squaresoft for FF8-2 it would be square enix..............

It took me 3 weeks to beat final boss(level scaling) and it happened on new year's eve, 3AM(I had to beat it)... I was begging my video not to glitch because the CD-ROM was not working properly and it didn't glitch. When I saw "THE END" on my screen, I said to myself, "this was better than any movie I've ever watched". I captured that screen and used as my wallpaper for years. This game changed my life and raised my respect for video games.

@369destroyer I'm actually hoping they'll someday do FF8-2. There's a lot of unexplained plot points that lead to some ominous theories about Rinoa and the origin of Ultimecia (e.g. Griever is your ring, AND Ultimecia's GF? o_0 0_o o_0)

I've been playing Final Fantasy 8 ever since I was a child.

It has touched my heart in so many ways.

The music, the story, the long nights just bathing in the glow of the television while I would play as a child, feeling complete contentment.

Even to this day, it still gives me the same warm feeling to play it.

I always admired Squall, and fell in love with him and Rinoa.

I always wanted a love like theirs, and now I've met a girl who really is the Rinoa Heartilly to My Squall Leonhart.

FInal Fantasy VIII had it all! The best graphics of its time, Epic storyline that involved relationships more than just 'Let's go kick teh baddies but', Best music EVER, and an overall fun game to play through. To many people obsess over Tifa's chest to see that FF VII wasn't the best game in the world and VIII passed it out in ALL aspects. And anyone that didn't understand or like the draw system is just plain dull or retarded. FF VIII has been around for many years, it's still Bi-Winning XD!!!

I am In total agreement. out of all the final fantasy I loved this one. its the one i remember getting so hooked and addicted to the game i would look out side and it would be dark. a disc or so later and it was sunny and time for lunch. I liked the Final Fantasy 7...but it just didn't have that addiction nor the story line. and the new stuff is all about the graphics. they lost the story line idea and went with the wow factor. so ill say it again. final fantsay 8 is the most brilliant.

I could've played for 4 more discs after ultimecia's destruction.

In other people's opinion they say the game sucks, well it does a little. Because you have to DRAW the magic all the time, but I say it's one the most magnificent game i ever played. The game is so so, but the music I say its so better 2:50 it changes that's what I like about the game the music changes afterwards, of course it's not like FF VII or FF XI. And in 3:50 it has the FF VII style music. IT IS SO awesome! :D 3 favo games FF 7,8,9!

this game is the best. i can define how this game is so awesome: it has the most "on your toes" boss battles, where u have to always be looking at the ATB gauge and attack before the boss, like ultimecia. the music is more awesome than CoF, deicide, taylor swift, lil wayne put together. the story line is more romantic than titanic or whatever movie is considered the most romantic, and the gameplay and fmvs are just so fuckin put together and smooth! I agree. It's especially fitting since the game started out centered around the school, then got so much bigger than just the Gardens... And in the end, we've come back to Balamb Garden, and it's another party in our honor, and then we say goodbye.

Debate over this game will continue, but I'll say this: It's rare that people (or simply myself) get so attached to a handful of polygons and some excellent music. FFVIII did it.

If you play them everyday for hours on end, when you should be doing homework or studying(like me for one), then you'll most likely be effected badly.
