This song gots everything! Bass is awesome, guitar and piano too, drums perfect and loud when needed, voices and choirs charming, the lyrics are beautiful and complex... It's one of the best songs I have ever listened to, seriously.
what type of music would you specifically call this? like i don't know if this is jazz but lets use jazz as an example, i know there's different types of jazz, such as smooth jazz and etc. Anyone know the specific genre for this, or close as possible anyways? It just that this is so awesome i want more!
@jaymayhoi First of all, there is no such thing as smooth jazz, its not jazz, it's...pop faux jazz, kinda like tofurky. Types of jazz include bebop, hard bop, fusion (jazz mixed with rock), etc... This would probably be considered more gospel/soul, primarily due to the use of a gospel chord progression, based on the blues progression. Not exactly jazz, but very similar, often crossing boundaries (listen to some Mingus and you will see how close they are).
at 1:31 i suddenly got goosebumps 'cause i have finally found the song i was looking for for over a year! gosh i just can't explain what im feeling right now! i know it's just a song for others but to me it isn't! it's inspiration!
oh yeah and you guys were saying a lot that the cowboy bebop series and movie were really awesome so im gonna try to watch them too! :D
@TheBlindItem Likewise mate. I felt the same when I saw the movie (first time I've ever watched Cowboy Bebop) and searched for the soundtrack. The songs, the characters, the story, Spike Spiegel's personality that reminded me of mine definitely had an impact on me to see the series. I highly recommend it.
@Xagzan On the Soundtrack Channel :D but i wasnt able to catch the title of the song because the font was too small, but i knew it was from this anime
@Tekwerk I have no idea what is being talked about. I was watching a SC2 stream and a gamer was playing this tune which I really liked. Now to investigate what you guys are all talking about
If you want the creator, the creator of all of this beautiful simply beautiful music that I listen to on a daily basis (for my birthday on August 15th I'm gonna have a door tattooed on my back) you want to look at anything by Yakko Kanno or the band she performed with, The Seatbelts. I would go straight to the composer though. I would go straight to Yakko Kanno.
Cowboy Bebop is without thought the very essence of what anime is capable of.
I can honestly say that this series made me laugh, made me cry, made me contemplate, made me dream and keept me on the edge of my seat more than any series or movie that I've seen over the course of 20 years, animated or otherwise.
Maybe with a few exceptions and Lost or Avatar are not among them.
This show had a little bit of everything and you can see how much soul the producers put into it.
I got the same from both Bebop and Firefly, both shows had that "something" that made them truly unique and special.Something that instantly hooks you and keeps you watching on no matter what.I wish they made shows like that today
@qu3ter Well said man. Nothing compares to it it's definetely by far the best series I've ever seen becuase it just offered so much to the viewers. I'm glad it ended on 26 episodes because it had a solid story and characters you could really feel emotion towards and if they continued it then it'd just become overused and turn crap.
He said that Lost and Avatar are not among the ones he was talking about, lol. I can agree with that, shows these days don't really hold a candle to the influence a good anime can have on a person's psyche. Animes have only two things to go on, and that's plot and dialog. Modern shows have to balance in actors, location, ect. and in balancing, lose a lot of what makes a show so damn good.
@NessDark I was talking about Avatar (TV), the production team of that series watched the entire Cowboy Bebop series in one weekend. He was talking about Avatar (Film).
@qu3ter It pains me to see how anime has devolved after this "golden age" of anime as I like to refer to it.
I'd say it's just my age playing tricks on me, but somewhere along the line the generic sex appeal harem genre that focuses on merciless merchandising gained traction and just took off, destroying most of my respect for something I once loved.
It's series like Cowboy Bebop that help me cope with what anime has become today.
@kaikou1098 You took the words right out of my mouth, It really saddens me that todays generation degrades itself by watching that overly sexualized crap and actually have the guts to call it anime. I've honestly grown to despise the word harem, even though I'm a guy and don't even get me started on fan fictions, if you are familiar with that. I really wonder what great anime directors like Shinichiro Watanabe, Katsuhiro Otomo and Mamoru Oshii have to say about the state of today's anime.
This is a soulful piece of work. The lyric's transcending; set's shredding, bass's funky, choir's soulful, and Yamane's rocking.
I would love this song even without watchiung Bebop. Just have to listen to the bass line in the from the second verse on. What an amazing bassline that funk this song to the end. Love it. And saying love it ain't enough.
LOL caved in to the fans demands. Everybody sad because spike died. So he went back and said oh well spike never died. But in the series, the indian psychic predicted that spike would die, that his star would fall. I wonder how he'll explain that.
The live-action movie'll blow. X.x; You can't capture the same soul of Cowboy Bebop with real characters...
The Cowboy Bebop movie was kick-ass though. xP I'm glad it was based between the episodes, otherwise Fay'd be off soul-searching, Eddy would have walked off and Ein'd have followed. D: Wouldn't be the same without the full gang.
Cowboy Bebop is the KING of Anime to me because it reflects a lot of realism in a lot of non-realistic elements and it has had so much impact on entertainment that even non-anime fans, unlike myself, like it. Bebop is a complete breakthrough and for as many anime there are, I don't really think there is or will ever be another one quite like it.
I agree with ceberuskid, this song kind of makes you feel like your on Mars. And I also agree with IzzaBunny, I totally wouldn't mind if this song was played on my funeral. Cowboy Bebop is a very unique, emotional and powerful anime, COWBOY BEBOP FOR LIFE!!!!
Gotta Knock A Little Harder is bluesy but uplifting, " Blue " - I agree with you about having it as a funeral song.Or maybe " In the Rain ". W / Yoko Kanno & Mai Yamane, there are too many choices to pick just one.
@knoxvilleguy2 i think you are misundertstanding me,im talking about the song that it is heavy, that is not uplifting at all,not about the anime, and i dont think it is macbeth to anime, because its influence has been clearly rejected, sadly,,thats why you see so much moe and "handsome" stick man, if animes were more like bebop, the way they treat theire characters i would definetely see more anime, but i dont, thhough if bebop is one thing, its Great
@knoxvilleguy2 :well not exactly, bebop is great but it is underrated, dont know if theres a popular great book like that, but if it was a film itd be like Leon
@super88cloud - It may be a better thing to compare it to Kurosawa's " Seven Samurai " / W / is what the movie " The Magnificent Seven " was based on.
The thing i like is there every episode depicts a certain feeling. The directer based it on an event or flim. And the ending... It just makes u think how pathetic mordern humans are now, only thinking about money and stuffs, they shown u love and adventure ~_~ Love cowboy bebop! :D
@wakkanda you know whateverni is right. Soul is a feeling, its more than just emotion. Its deep, its powerful, its moving, and if you don't get it its really impossible for anyone to explain.
@VerdantDog Some people are incapable of feeling it; soul.
Some people just lack a soul to start with. These are the kind of people who fill their lives with material goods, desperately trying to fill the void where their soul should be; but no matter how much they throw into their lives, they can never fill the crevice where their soul should be.
I'm just thankful I actually possess the soul so many people these days lack...

The thing i like is there every episode depicts a certain feeling. The directer based it on an event or flim. And the ending... It just makes u think how pathetic mordern humans are now, only thinking about money and stuffs, they shown u love and adventure ~_~ Love cowboy bebop! :D

@whateverni what a shit thing to say it means you dont know it either or you would give me a resonable answer
